Any day that you ride is a good day!

I was looking at some new JD riding mowers at Lowes the other day and noticed that the engines have a new system for changing the oil:

https://youtu.be/zIrePocxcdQ

They're billing it as a 30 second easy oil change.

They are producing one new model without this system.

Personally, I don't think that I like this new system.

My problems with it are:

1) It never changes ALL of the oil.

2) I can't choose the brand of oil that I want to use.

3) It costs $40

It's a neat idea and I'm sure that the R&D was done before it was released to the public.

It will be interesting to see what the general public's reaction is.

I do know that if there wasn't at least one without the new system, my next new mower most likely wouldn't be John Deere Green.

Reb ran that by us at the Hillbilly ride in Pikeville last year. One reason, make oil change dummy proof, main reason $$$$.

One of the filter makers tried to get this going for cars back in the 80s.It was a dry sump storage unit w/ several qts. and a filter. 2 quick connects carry in to the parts house walk out plug it in and go. Of coarse it never caught on but I thought it might work well on boats with hard to reach sumps and filters.

I only change my mower oil once a year. I might put 40 hours on it a year. Takes me 30 minutes to mow my lawn. I like the idea but it only takes me 5 minutes to change mine now for 10 bucks. But I'm not the market they are after.
