Even if it couldn't be found, Ford should certainly have been asked about it.  To nail her down on it.

Dr Ford is a drama queen.  She came off like a rape victim from last week.  Pitiful.  When asked what part of the event was clearest in her memory she relayed a bizzar story of laughter with some vauge details of the important stuff. That tells me she is forcing some memories to be useful to this situation. In other words she's lying because she thinks her family's ties to the CIA will protect her and she thinks the ends justifies the means.

Your evidence is that someone claims that she was groped by a person?  She doesn't know exactly when or where but it has ruined her life.  She didn't bother mentioning it to anyone for thirty years even though it ruined her life through her attaining advanced degrees and being given plush do nothing prestigious positions with universities.

Incidentally she just happens to be financially committed to causes strongly opposed to the person in question and no one she named will corroborate her story of the alleged event.  She is supported by lots of folks who were not there, know nothing of the supposed event but they believe she's telling the truth because they agree with her politically.

Incidentally, no one posted on Facebook that she posted that.  She posted it a year and a half ago but then removed it.

However, after finally getting to listen to the record from Thursday, examining what transcripts I can read, the backstory of the players and the motives of those involved I will go on record that I believe beyond a reasonable doubt that Ford is lying, that she knows she is lying, that she is being encouraged to lie and that she will continue to do so.  She would do well to recant lest she be on the receiving end of more sexual problems in prison. Perjury carries a long sentence and doubtful the SCOTUS would hear her case no matter who is on it in the future. She poisoned her own well.

You seem to be selling the strategy short.  Yes, it is a stall tactic but it is also leverage for the midterms.  If the Republican senators go past her accusation, even though it has no supporting evidence, they can play it as Republicans are not sensitive to the needs of victimized women.  Even some of our own members insist on referring to her as a sexual assault victim despite it's a claim based solely on her own word.

A portion of the country is solidly committed to the left.  A portion is solidly committed to the right.  It's that small group uncommitted in the middle for which both sides will compete.
