Far western Colorado:

Diesel-$3.20
Regular 85 octane-$2.80
Regular 87 octane-$3.15
High Test 91 octane-$3.40
Ethanol free 91 octane-$3.75

It'll be going up again around Christmas.  The ski areas are about .25 higher all the way around.
Asssspen is about $3.80 for regular 85 octane; probably be up near $4.35 around Christmas.
There are only two stations in downtown Aspen; no gas wars there. laugh

our octane is measured a little different.... was thinking our prices were similar...then I realized it was per gallon, so converting our liter price to gallon

91 $7.98
95 $9.08
98+$10.12

Tax is over half of that, ACC levy being part of it (accident medical cover) road tax & region taxes too......

ouch ! I was feeling kind of put upon that I'm paying $2.89 when others are paying $2.00. I guess $7.98 puts it in perspective.

yeppers gas keeps going DOWN!  yippee!   2.299 E10 and I can use E85 but find that E15 gas being 2.249 (5 cents cheaper) only loose about .20 tops of mpg, if that.  Hard to tell since it is COLDER out and always loose mpg when colder temps out.   I can now fill up my 38 gallon tank on truck every 1 1/2 weeks driving instead of was near 100 bucks is more like 70 bucks, good news.

Between 3 of our 4 vehicles we put on about 15K miles or so per year on EACH of the 3 vehicles.  That price adds up for sure 50,000 miles per year total on all 4 vehicles (4 drivers).  I shop around for BEST gas weekly and luckily at most 1 mile out of my way to get the cheapest gas filling up weekly.  My former boss who was sort of a jerk/arrogant said it was not worth driving even around the block more to save say 5-10 cents per gallon, I begged to differ, but you could not reason with him whether it was work or outside of work.  He was same person who told me E85 gas gets better mpg than say regular E10 gas - not true at all but could not tell him that.

LOVE IT,  now if gas ever dips below 2 bucks per gallon which I doubt it ever will again EVER,  I will be ecstatic even more so.  Does not make me feel so stingy taking the truck now vs. the much more fuel efficient (over double the mpg) car on longer trips.

Never quiet understood why some people need to win all arguments. My approach is, even if I know I'm 100% right, I'll state the FACTS and the other party can take it or leave it. Might be arrogance (on my part), I don't know. angel

speaking of discounts on gas:

pick n save grocery store for every 100 bucks spent get 10 cents off per gallon at most BP gas stations up to 35 gallons of gas in one outing, perfect for my 38 gallon truck gas tank.  Expires every 1 month after purchases though but usually get 20 cents off once per month at least to use up being 200 bucks spent there.  That for me is .20 x 35 gallons so 7 bucks off once per month and always at least get 10 cents off once per month so 3.50 per fillup saved even got 30 cents off per 35 gallons once spending over 300 bucks there in one month.  Is only good once per month but better than nothing.

next best thing for me is kwik trip fuel rewards (easy to sign up online or in store) if you get gas at kwik trip for every 15 visits buying anything (or 15 fillups can even stop every few days for gas even if 5 bucks or one soda drink/coffee is all), on the 15th visit get 5 cents off per gallon up to 30 gallons so that is also 1.50 off per fillup and locally kwik trip on my daily route is the cheapest around for gas already.

Yup.  I have their app on my phone and take a look every time I need to fill.  They use crowd-sourced data, so how current the prices they show are depends on the users who report the prices.  I have dozens of stations within three miles of me, and the freshness of the information currently varies from six minutes to one day, with the vast majority being two hours or less.

That was after petrol prices started to drop.... the highest price ever was a couple of months ago......at the same time a 10c tax was added to Auckland pumps to support public transport.....I live just outside the Auckland area so don't need to pay that....$1.50 a gallon more approx at that time

If I saw gas under 2 bucks per gallon it would make my day being very, very happy.  Heck, I love it when I see gas going down 2-4 cents per week as it has lately, makes my day for sure when filling up my 38 gallon gas tank and wife's 18 gallon gas tank near weekly.

It seems gas tax rates play little in the retail price of gas. Many states have higher taxes tha AZ, but are a dollar a gallon cheaper.

Tax in crazy on NZ fuel, 70c for most of NZ, 80c for Auckland....per liter so our tax is higher than your total fuel cost for some..... $2.60 ish per gallon for most and Auckland is just over over $3

6c is for ACC the rest is roading etc

Edit to add

I forgot the GST tax on fuel (15% of total cost of everything in NZ)...That adds another .30 per liter so $4 a Gallon Tax for us

Government sales tax...or as we call it "Grab Steal & Take"

Tax on gasoline is for the most part regressive.

The days of living close enough to your job to walk have been over for a 100 years or so.

People need gas for cars to get to work (to be productive citizens), to buy food and clothing.

To that extent, gas is a necessity, and G's should not tax necessities.

Certainly some cars are more economical than others.

I'm sick of taxes, and the 8 separate taxes on my gas, water, electric bills, which are also necessities.

Rant off. (for now)

seems to keep going down now 2.249 was 2.299 last Friday.  It is normal though where I live and I find odd that a lot of gas stations are still 2.349 being 10 cents per gallon higher than some locally nearby.  10 cents more per gallon driving right down the road makes me 110% of the time go to the next cheapest gas station down the road to save .10 x 30 gallons in my truck so 3 bucks off per EVERY fillup near weekly.

My wife filled up her SUV doing that at the pricey gas station last week and do not get it at all drive down the road to next cheapest gas station basically.  there is also a GASBUDDY app on my phone I have used which is pretty accurate if someone posts gas prices especially handy if traveling away from home not knowing gas prices in the area.

Seems like the more liberal the state, the higher their gas taxes.  Funny how that works.

The French (not generally known for conservatism), have been having a nice party in Paris about gas taxes (and other things).

You know, you always hear about how lucky we are in the US regarding gas prices and how expensive it is in other countries and you have to wonder, why is that.  Everybody pays about the same for crude on the open market.  I'd imagine there are some variances on refining costs country to country (but you wouldn't think it would be that much).  I'd imagine there are some variances on distribution costs country to country (but again, you wouldn't think it would be that much).  So that leaves you with taxes.  Why would the other countries complain about the high cost of gas at the pump, but submit to exorbitant taxes?  Looks like the French have finally had enough.   I'm sure its more complex than this, but that's my take.
