NY Governor Cuomo Celebrates Allowing Abortion Up Until Birth

I am personally deeply saddened and sickened by this decision by the the New York legislature that passed the Reproductive Health Act which would allow mothers to kill/abort their babies up until birth. The term used  in it is declaring abortion a "fundamental right" opens the door to invalidating "any limits on abortion".

Then they celebrated this legalized murder by ordering that the spire at One World Trade Center, the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, the Kosciuszko Bridge and the Alfred E. Smith Building in Albany all be lit in pink on Tuesday night.

This legislation is wrong and then to celebrate it is heinous.

I cannot imagine killing a child 8 months after conception and not calling it murder.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/42529/ny-governor-cuomo-celebrates-allowing-abortion-hank-berrien

The bill declares that "Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry the pregnancy to term, to give birth to a child, or to have an abortion," erases the state's recognition of preborn babies older than 24 weeks as potential homicide victims, removes abortion from the penal code entirely, and allows licensed health practitioners other than full doctors to commit abortions.
"Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that."

The county executive of Nassau County (1st suburb of NYC on Long Island, and one of the most heavily taxed counties in the nation) ordered ICE agents to be removed from the jails.

The county has three towns infested with gangs including MS-13.

The county executives reasoning was that undocumented illegal aliens are in fear of the ICE agents at the jails so they don't go to visit their criminal undocumented illegal alien friends and family.

The triplets were born 2 months premature. In this photo, they were still technically 1 month premature.

In other words, had they been in the womb at this point it would now be legal in New York to terminate them for almost another month.

I'm trying to avoid opening THAT can of worms, but I'm actually marginally pro-choice, but once you're past the first trimester, things change drastically.

And once you're past 24 weeks there should be no if's and's or but's...

I am somewhat surprised that doctors would be willing to perform the procedure under these circumstances. I guess do no harm is down the drain when it comes to making money.

Compared to some I am a real low life sob but I wouldn't want to meet my maker with the onus of having any part of this genocide.

While there are plenty of doctors more than willing to do it, another part of this new law removes the requirement that the person performing an abortion actually BE a doctor...

You bring up a great point.

What if a Dr. has been performing abortions all along, and is comfortable within his/her mind, body, and soul performing abortions up until the 6th month (still a bit too far along for some including me), but is NOT comfortable with performing abortions after the 6 month threshold that he/she is comfortable with?  Can this physician now be sued?  Can a physician be forced under the law to perform third trimester abortions?

If allowed, I believe a lot of Doctors won't perform 3rd trimester abortions.  You will see some that do, and they will do a lot of them and make a good living doing them.  But many will opt out of performing that procedure for different reasons.  I wonder if they can be sued like the baker who refuses to make a cake.

And this is what NY Democrats want to do with that money.  That's sad.  I think public money should be removed from paying for that procedure.  Prices would come down if the fees were between Dr and patient only.  I'm also sure the number of procedures would go down as well and more kids will be brought to term and adopted.

Last week I saw a little boy, made up like a girl, posing in a photograph with a naked transvestite/transsexual.

Also,

There is a youtube video in which a woman (looks like in her 30's) is talking to, and justifying her own abortion to, CHILDREN.  She said to one child that abortion is in God's plan.

now no doubt the Democrat party Is The Party of Death!
The Reproductive Health Act, blocked for years when Republicans controlled the State Senate, easily passed both Democratic-controlled houses.

the law allows non doctors to do it.
The measure, which takes effect immediately, expands access to abortions by authorizing other health professionals – beyond physicians under a 1970 state law that came three years ahead of the landmark Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision – to perform abortions.

Physician assistants will be permitted to also carry out surgical abortions and licensed midwives and nurse practitioners can do nonsurgical procedures using medications if they are "acting within his or her lawful scope of practice," according to the legislation.

It seems like killing babies is almost exclusively a Liberal illness...Charles Darwin comes to mind.
And yes there are circumstances where termination of a pregnancy is unavoidable, like the mother's life is at risk. Other than that, this holocaust must be "Terminated".

Where do they get these numbers? Bet I can find a poll that says 0% of Republicans support "choice" and another that says 100% support it. It's all in who is being asked. Did that 34% say it was ok in rape cases? It's also how the question is asked. Too many variables in this to say definitively 34% of them are ok with it.

60%...well if this poll is anything like the 2016 Election...not so much. To be fair...maybe 50% and considering Democrats make up about 50% of the population, that narrows down the conservatives who side with pro-choice a lot, and I would add that most would only agree under dire circumstances.

This is actually pretty simple.

The 5th amendment of the Constitution guarantees No Person...be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.

Scientifically we can prove the existence of a person pretty much moments after conception with DNA.

Not saying Abortion should be illegal, but saying one cannot be performed without the person being aborted having due process of law. Arbitrary choice isn't enough.

Wouldn't it be ironic if it was precisely this law that was challenged and took this issue back to the SCOTUS for a chance at overturning Roe V. Wade.

If I were a religious person I might even say I could see the hand of a higher power at play in this allowing this abomination of a law to pass for precisely that reason.

I feel that it is a bit ironic that half the states have fetal homicide laws, yet NY allows this to pass.

State Fetal Homicide Laws

Currently, at least 38 states have fetal homicide laws: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. At least 29 states have fetal homicide laws that apply to the earliest stages of pregnancy ("any state of gestation/development," "conception," "fertilization" or "post-fertilization"); these are indicated below with an asterisk (*).

This report documents multiple murders of viable babies. The evidence makes a compelling case that many others were also murdered.

A DNA sample from a fetus, shortly after conception would show a human individual. That individual is obviously alive.

Even if one concedes that "it's not that simple" shouldn't we, as a righteous society bestow basic human rights as soon as possible? We can make a scientific case, a sound one, that a human individual exists at conception. This individual is the most hapless and helpless among us. History has shown we shouldn't wantonly kill such of those among us.

As can I. I concede that as a righteous society we should have no abortions at all. I also concede that as a righteous society we should also have no child abuse, molestation, poverty, etc. We are a society of laws. The law of the land has decreed Rowe vs. Wade, which has basically bestowed these rights at the point of viability. I think a good case could be made that this New York law goes beyond this and as such is illegal. I imagine it will be settled in the courts.
