Sometime in the last month or so, I read a thread that listed all the parts & numbers to buy when doing the rear end service. Of course I didn’t bookmark it. And of course I can’t find it again.
Anyone remember seeing it?
Thanks, Craig

Craig, I don't recall seeing that. But, the only thing new I use is the 3 O-rings and new moly paste and grease. I've been using the same thrust bearing washer for some time now. I get my o-rings from Carolina Bike & Trike.

Might have more luck looking in the Tech section rather than the General. Should only need the o-rings. Now if you find something wrong, then you need to replace that. U-joint/yoke, drive shaft, pinion cup, pinion cup seal, hub, and spline (and yoke boot). About the only parts there is.

If ordering stuff, you can never go wrong with a spare ujoint boot. You may do your rear end service and leave it in place, but if it comes off, or gets torn or you have to put it back on for any reason, a new one is easier to get on. Though there is no such thing as a boot that is easy to get on (just easier).
At least in my experience. (I used my whole bad word vocabulary, and it's pretty extensive.)
And John Schmidt's advice to use alcohol as a lube (which leaves no residue) is good.
It's also the best time to change rear end dope. And put on a metal valve stem. And see if the wiring up in the fender has been rubbed. And see if that rubber flap up under there is coming off. After degreasing under the fender (and wire wheeling some rust and paint), my flap came half off, and the damn thing was like a playing card clothes-pined to the bicycle spokes; but not as much fun.
And a jack stand in front (under an engine guard) is good. The first time I dropped the wheel/hub and my bike began to tip forward off my jack was more excitement that I was hoping for.
You probably already know this.

Thanks for all the responses, no bingo yet. Could have been the tech section or shoptalk like Gordon said. I been working lots of xtra hours this winter spreading the dreaded salt, and brain fog does come into play. I’ve searched for hours and gave up before asking here.
Thanks again, Craig

When you do a search from the main menu, it searches the whole forum. When you're within a forum, General, Tech, a chapter, it will only search that one forum. Sometimes less is better. Change the words. It usually comes. But sometimes, there just isn't anything there to find, and then you need to ask for help.

New tire?
Hey Bill, yes, tire time and want to check out rear end. Getting hip done in June, so just getting my ducks in a row so I can pecker around on it when I can’t ride. I’d like to acquire any and all parts I could need beforehand. Come on spring, Craig

You mean there are people that don't turn that off? There are folks that do not know what it is. There are folks that do not know where it is. There are folks that do not know how to turn it off. There are folks that are not paranoid about it.
