Friend in Shanghai tells me that residents are getting cabin fever. He sent me photos 3 days ago of the street below his 10th floor apartment. Not a person or vehicle to be seen.

Now people are out and about. Not the usual amount.

I suppose his official obituary says he fell down some stairs (or drowned in a boating accident).   :crazy2:

I dont believe a strain could last on a product crossing the rather large lakes into the US without a living host, but it does go to say that an outbreak can be detrimental to a country's economy. More of a reason for the origin country to keep the true impact of the outbreak out of the spotlight?

Sounds like China is finally going to let WHO scientists come over early next week.   Some confusion as to whether they are going to allow any US scientists in.   Hopefully we'll get some better information soon...

I spoke with my niece in England today. She is a senior nurse. Told me of a male who went to visit his local doctor. The male wasn't feeling 100%.

Doctor asked him if he had recently been to China. He replied in the affirmative.

Now the doctors offices have to be sterilized and all the other patients and staff are to be quarantined at home for 2 weeks.

Stupid acts by stupid people.

Male was told to drive himself to the local hospital and was escorted by a police car.

He pointed out that a lot of prescribed medicines are manufactured in China and there is a big fear there that supply will be greatly reduced in the coming weeks.

I knew a lot of stuff I purchased was made in China.  I knew but I did not know.

I did not know a lot of our medications were being made in China.  I was not aware, until a few years ago, of how many of our computers, controllers, ect. were being made in China.  

I now know.  I was at Lowes, buying some pine planks.  I elected to buy some that were pre-finished instead of just plan wood.  

When I got home and began cutting the boards to length, I noted the "Made in China" label on the product.  And it was not a sold piece of wood but composed of pieces glued together.  The price of the two were close.  

My point is, we have been kept sort of in the dark about how much stuff we consume, almost depend on, is not longer being made here.  

And yes, the Shite is getting real.  Real, real.
