Well really I'll leave it up you all. I thought I'd bring my Valkyrie cause Tallahassee hasn't seen many of these gorgeous ladies :o  Heck, I know one rider who will be on a Harley.  :uglystupid2: Some of you know who I'm referring too  :coolsmiley: I thought of riding my F6B but decided against it I'll be on Renegade❗️ :smitten:

This will be on the Friday ride, The ride on the "Forgotten Highway". I bet some of you didn't know that there was a Civil War battle fought in FL. How about a Lighthouse in the Big Bend of FL?  :cooldude:

Good evening all, I'm blessed to be living in this area now. Moving from Ohio in 2017. Unfortunately I had to switch from Valks after 23 years and putting more than 100K miles on them to a lighter bike due to health and storage problems. But I want to welcome all of you to the "Forgotten Coast" and and urge you to not miss "Cooters" at St Marks for an outstanding bacon cheeseburger, or grilled shrimp wrap, with a cold beverage.
If your in the mood for a little higher end fare Harry's in Tally is an excellent way to end an evening.
Ride safe and enjoy the coast

:cooldude: Welcome to the area Vern. Feel free to come up for a visit or make dinner on Thursday nite.

Well folks we are only a month out from our Tallahassee Gathering. I hope you are looking forward to it,  as much as I am.  ;) I've planned our Dinner on Thursday night at a great place less than a mile from the hotel. Just east of I-10 called "Backwoods Crossing". Great food and atmosphere. You can look them up, the menu will handle what you desire and I've never been disappointed.  :smitten:
On Friday the frist day of the ride we'll be on the "Forgotten Hway". Not sure what times everyone wants to get out so times can easily change but a good target scheduled. If those folks that want to take their own ride elsewhere that is fine, won't hurt my feelings.
I'd like us to meet after breakfast 8:15 discuss the ride further if needed and KSU 8:45AM. Little traffic our direction to St. Marks Lighthouse. I know one person said they wanted to meet up with us on Friday. This run will get him closer to us if he wants to meet at the St. Marks Lighthouse around 10-10:15. Leave from there on the "Forgotten Hwy" west and planning lunch at "The Half Shell Dockside" in Apalachicola.
Leave after lunch heading back to Tallahassee on some nice back roads thru Nat'l Forest for some of the ride but going to skirt around Tallahassee area to get back to the hotel. Now these Times are not exact but as I said a good target. I think you will enjoy this ride and pretty sure the Saturday ride will surprise some of you too!  :coolsmiley:

Not too far from the lighthouse in St Marks, heading west on 98, is a turn that will take you to Shell Point Beach. This is the area that I live and it's a nice ride and only about 15 minutes off 98. South off 98, then left off Spring Creek onto Shell Point Rd and it will take you right to the pavilion on the beach. There is usually a food truck there on the weekends. We'll try to make the dinner as we miss seeing the fat ladies and the associated riders.

Growing up in Tallahassee I have been to most all area's N-S-E & W of Tallahassee. As a teenager I had friends who's folks had places at Shell Pt. A quaint costal community. Curious how you found your way there for retirement :???: I also enjoyed eating at Spring Creek Restaurant near by years ago too.
I hope you can make the dinner and visit with some really good folks, don't be shy  :coolsmiley:

Spring Creek Restaurant closed. House in OH sold in 1 day instead of 6 months as planned, had vacations planned including an Inzane. Came to FL as I was tired of putting Valk up on blocks 5 to 6 months out of the yr due to snow. Started out in Carrabelle and ended up in Shell Point. Had to sell my 2nd Valk due to health and storage problems, now in a situation where I'm probably going to have to sell the bike I stepped down to, an 1800 VTX, due to the same problems. It's a bitch getting old and having to pay for the sins of youth :coolsmiley:. If We don't make the dinner we'll definitely try to meet up at the Lighthouse as on the for east coast Valk riders showed us around the Port Richey area when we were checking out that area and as I mentioned earlier we do miss the get-togethers.
Enjoy..

The Barber Vintage Festival is going on Oct 8th - Oct 10th  Maybe a day trip up into Birmingham AL
It's probably only 300 miles away on some back roads that Keith probably knows.

What is the route back to the hotel after lunch Friday in Appalachicola? Thanks, Steve

:-X I will not make that ride Nick. I already have to much committed to this weekend. Now I've been to Barbers 3-4 times now but if next year I'd consider.  :coolsmiley:

Steve,
Leaving Apalachicola take 98E to Green Port. There take 65N to 12E to 90E to 267N to 12E to 319S. Then taking back roads to hotel from northend of Tallahassee to the east side of Tally. Timing is everything especially when I have dinner scheduled at 6PM at a neat place called The Red Shed.  Yes there could be some variation according to time of day :coolsmiley:

:police: :police: Don't break the speed limit getting to Tallahassee   but I've reserved the meeting room at Backwoods Crossing on Thursday 7th arrival at 6pm. I've used this room in the past and think it's a good idea. This is a laid back restaurant with a nice menu. It is big enough for the group and we can walk around visiting and be noisy without worry other patrons of the restaurant.  :crazy2:
All the hotel rooms are reserved 15 total. So I know that 15 will be there but some coming 2-up which is welcomed. I'm figuring about 18-22 total folks if all make the dinner. If more that is fine.
With that said is there anyone NOT going to dinner :???: I do need to give them a number so they will have a menu printed out for us.
Looking forward to a great trip, I hope you all are too!  :coolsmiley:
