Holster for Ruger LCP

Just got a Ruger LCP 380, looking for a good holster. Something that is easy to use, and don't have to worry about it falling out going down the road. Any suggestions?

friend of mine has an LCP and uses a nemesis pocket holster and loves it.

I would first trade for a lcr .357 and get a good leather belt holster for it lots to choose from and you know you pulled the trigger when it fires. Just my .02. but about what you asked what type of holster do you want? hip,ankle,small of back,shoulder,wallet. I would check with galco and desanti. they are some of my favorites. Also check blackhawk they make great molded plastic type holters I have several for different hand guns.

Take a look at the Bulldog case, it carries concealed and draws nicely with a bit of practice. I use it for a KelTec 380 and a S&W bodyguard 380 with no problems. The box it comes in also mentions the LCP as being a correct fit.

I have a taurus TCP and like it. Its my BUG/ sometimes primary. I use a Unkle mikes inside the pants like Al. I have a left and right hand one. Since I'm left handed one fits inside my vest pocket nicely. The other in my cargo thight pocket. I also use it in my front pocket of my bibs or jeans if the fit loose. Also uses it in my boot to.

Fobus and Blackhawk make nice ones.

My partners hubby uses a wallet looking pocket holster for lcp. To bulky for me. They make one with the index hole cut out so you do not need to unholster it to fire. Saw it in some guns rags at the store.

I carry a KelTec 380 which is nearly identical in size to your Ruger. I also use a nemesis pocket holster for pocket carry. You don't want change stuck in your trigger guard. Around home I use a belt slide-type holster which will hold everything from my 14 shot 1911, to a full size 357 and on down to that same KelTec.

I'm left handed and most of the time when I'm riding I use an Uncle Mike's inside the waistband holster sewn into the inside of my left boot. I wear side-zip boots so it's no problem getting them on or off.

I have carried an LCP since they first came out. Don't use a holster, they are not made for open carry. Front pocket or rear pocket , and don't carry anything else in that pocket. In my front pocket as I type. Lots of wear on the blue. The gun in your pocket is the one thats going to save your life, not the one  back in your truck, or in the drawer, or in your saddlebag. Thats where you put your cannon. Also get a Crimson Trace laser, the factory sights are useless. The other day a fellow gruffly ask me if I was so n so. Before I answered I ran my hand in my pocket, he got real sweet in a hurry. LCR make a good purse gun, but hard to carry 24-7 in hot weather concealed. Would make a good coat pocket gun in cooler temps.

As signart said, the LCP is designed as a pocket gun.  If I were going to carry another way, I would go for a slightly larger size & caliber.  (exception might be an ankle holster)
I have a Desantis pocket holster as mentioned above, except I went for the "velcroed on flap model" that keeps it from printing in my pocket.  It has a kind of rubberized exterior that keeps it in position, & if you have or add a trigger guard laser, it keep it from turning on in your pocket & killing it's battery. 
Easy & convenient carry but does require dedicating a pocket.  Not an issue if you like "cargo" pants or shorts.

Forgot to mention, it does not print like a gun in your pocket would, looks like a wallet or the like.  Easy to remove with fingers in position, if needed.  If asked for your wallet at gun point, you reach for this one... and let em have it.  There is foam sandwiched between the leather that builds up the areas where the gun is not.  Easy on the butt, and.... it even provides a little more hand/finger control area for those little guns.  It's like my wallet, goes with me all (most) of the time..... and I have forgot to take it out in places that I probably should have.... but because it was well concealed, it didn't become an issue.

I also like the Keltec version of the LCP style pistol, especially the .32 cal. very, very light. Feels like half the weight of LCP. Great for CC in the heat. Good quality for the money.

I bought a tuckable holster from PJ Holster http://pjholster.com/ for my Sig/Sauer P290 and love it! They are custom molded for your weapon. Not leather, but in my opinion the molded Kydex makes a better holster.

I like that design a lot too, but it looks like carrying it with one in the chamber could result in an accidental discharge when being pulled out of the hip pocket under duress.
(Finger in the small hole, not the big one...... LOL)   I realize the DAO trigger pull is probably 12 lbs, but...

Agreed. This is why I will only own guns with real, manual safeties. But I still think it's a neat design.

I agree, inadvertently putting your finger in the trigger guard too soon could lead to lead poisoning but I really like the idea behind this holster.

My KelTec does have a long trigger pull of over 6 1/2lbs so that should make it a little safer but it'll never be a long distance gun for sure.

I dont have one chambered in my TCP just incase since it is in my pocket. When I wear it in one of my cargo pocket of my pants I am in close quarters and doing alot of crawling and dont want a misfire. 

I did have it in my pants pocket and was getting a lap dance. It was kinda uncomfortable.

Correct, the P3AT does have a fairly long/heavy trigger pull.  I carried it in my rear pocket loaded with a snap cap in the chamber when I first got it to see if the trigger would get bumped, or if it would fire when removing.  Not saying it might not do it in a stressed environment, but it is pointed down, so I suspect maybe only a muzzle flash burn to the ass if it did happen.  It has not accidentally fired from my experiences.

BTW.... nothing else goes in the pocket this is in...

It takes a lot of practice to get a P3AT or an LCP to fire even when you want it to. Like was said, don't carry ANYTHING else in that pocket. You don't need to fumble with a mech. safety or wonder if you have a round chambered, however you do need to check the clip periodically as it will unlatch from time to time

My P3AT had at least one "failure to eject" from each clip, even after more than 200 rounds were fired through it. The dealer I bought it from sent it back to KelTec for repairs. Hasn't jammed once since I got it back but it was a jam-o-matic before then. And, as you said, it takes very little pressure on the clip release to give you a loose mag. But, for ease of carry they are hard to beat.

Sweet, the holster from Gunner Security was waiting in the mailbox when I got home. That's fast shipping. 

Although I don't normally shoot much in the yard, I made an exception today (nothing was in the neighbors pasture behind my pond so it was safe shooting) so I could try this rig out. I only shot 6 rounds through it so that's an admittedly short test.

My P3AT fits in it tightly at the grip end. Slide is easily racked, mag release is slightly covered by the holster but is accessible and looks to be easily trimmed. The holster and gun take up a little more room in my pocket than my usual pocket holster but not excessively.

Shooting it is a little different. It seems to want to point up a little higher in my hand than it did before but if you watch the sights it's not an issue. It's easier to hold on to but seems to recoil a little sharper. It also raised up out of the holster a little at the front by the end of the clip. The quality seems very good. This will probably replace my pocket holster. I'm glad I bought it.

Something you guys should know is that in the early 90′s, a law was passed prohibiting a gun from being carried in a concealed container, from which the gun could be fired. Such container-holster and pistol together become subject to NFA and a federal tax stamp and registration, under "any other weapon." All "Any Other Weapons" have a mandatory tax of $200.00 for making. Transfer of an "Any Other Weapons" is an additional $5.00. Failure to comply is a fed gun crime.  Such container-holster completely covers the firearm making it look like something else... like a wallet, and look like this.

 

The same ruling applies to cane guns and briefcase guns that can be fired without removing the firearm from the container.

I need to find out how much more powerful a 357 mag is vs a 38+P. If not a lot of difference I'll probably get her a lady smith airweight. I guess I need to go the the gun store and ask some questions!

I just learned that the LCR is only 4 ozs. heavier than  my 9 oz. LCP!

Lot of them light weights cannot shoot the +P. Well, it might once!  Kits got a ultra light 38 and cannot shoot +P.
