NEED HELP INSTALLING AMP

I have a '99 Interstate. I changed all four speakers (used Polk Audio) and now need to also install Pyle PLMRA400 pre-amp to power the speakers because the Honda amp in not sufficient. My mechanic does not know how to wire the amp in.  The Honda amp wiring apparently is not color coded or marked. He does not want to spend two days trying to figure it out. Any suggestions on how to figure out how to wire this amp in? I appreciate any help that can be given.

I don't think a pre-amp is the way to do what you want to do, since a pre-amp will work thru your stock Honda internal amp.

What you need is a power amp that will multiply the signal emitted from your Honda unit and then go directly to the speakers.

It appears that the Pyle PLMRA400 can be used with the Valkyries but I don't have a clue how.  I suggest taking a look at this post below and maybe contacting Fordmano for information about hooking it up.

I did not look up the model number you have in hand, but I suspect it is a 400 watt total (4 channel x 100w) and has a pre-amp built in.  If so, you can use the output of the oem stereo (4 channels) as input to the HI LEVEL input(it probably has a LO LEVEL also----can't use it!).  As I remember the speaker wires are color coded in the schematics.

I don't know the amp your wanting to install, but you want a decent power amp and the simplest way to wire it up would probably to have an amp that has low impedance inputs  as well as the customary high impedance inputs or RCA jacks. Low impedance inputs are also known as speaker level inputs in case you didn't know. I say this because I'm guessing that the IS audio system doesn't have preouts you can easily tap into for the high impedance inputs.I haven't looked at the wiring diagram,though.Take the wires going now to each of your speakers and route them to the appropriate speaker level input on the amp. Keep proper polarity or phasing in mind for best results. You would then take the speaker outputs to your new speakers. The power and or trigger wires would then need to be wired of course. If you questions about that I can also answer.

radio under seat and the coming out of it the 18 Pin green conector - the bike wiring side colors are
rear speaker output pin 28 Blue/Yellow - LH
                           pin 27 Gray/White + LH
                           pin 26 Brown/White - RH
                           pin 25 Red/Yellow   +RH   
note this group wire has a conector that is under the right sidecover and can be disconected to remove rear trunk speaker wiring. Wires will need to be run fwd to amp input and back for rear speakers amp output

Front speaker output pin 24 Gary/Black - LH
                             pin 23 Blue/Green + LH
                             pin 22 Red/Green - RH
                             pin 21 Brown/Black + RH the wiring is already in faring to speakers
for you trigger 12v(power switched to turn on amp) the 20 pin Blue connection out of the radio Look for pin 2 Lt Green/Black
12V Power and ground for and should be fused at & come from Batt concetion to amp. 10ga wire should be used - lesser gauge wire to the Amp will not come up to full potenal. Think amps = flow.

Just to confirm (and I think your post makes it clear - just want to make sure), the factory radio module (black box under the seat) has to remain in the bike since it's the wires coming out of it that are the inputs for the amp?

Correct.

You also want to wire the amp directly to the battery terminals via a switched Power Plate, Fuze Block, PC-8 or similar. The stock ACC wire isn't up to handling the current load.
