darn sharp bike you had there all decked out with very low mileage.  And hear I thought my 2001 all black I/S at near 30K miles was not many miles driven.  Not sure on the 10K price tag, but am sure you got a very good trade in price to get that new Honda of yours.  Sure hope the new Honda gives you dozens of trouble free years as am sure your Valkyrie I/S did.

What something is worth in sale is in no way related to what someone paid for it.

Trade in dollars are a combination of reduction of price of the item to be bought and a price granted for the item being traded in.  The actual price paid for the traded in item is fully veiled within the combination.

If you pay trade in plus 10% you'll be well above the $10,000 asking price.

I paid somewhere around $4500 for a tired Valkyrie with no bling.

If you want a good Valkyrie with bling, you can either make one from
a tired Valkyrie for about a million dollars, or you could buy an already
good one.

Yeah what they show on paper what they are giving you and what they really are is two different things,They can show anything on paper,If you are really interested I would look up blue book and see what it actually books for and go from there.Most dealers I've talked to say Valks are hard to sell so a reasonable offer might get it.

It's actually not too late at all, they gave me an excellent price on trade and I have zero regrets. They are hands down the best dealer I have ever worked with and I would not even consider doing business with anyone but them.

Call me a wimp, or maybe it's because I'm so inseam challenged, but it was just too heavy for me to lift from the side stand. That bike is absolutely awesome and George gave me some good numbers for my 102,000 mile Standard. When push came to shove, I test rode an F6B. George is now trying to locate a 2013 Black Deluxe for me.

I know that a couple of people are saying that you can buy one like it all day for $6,000. Well, they're still looking

That IS is practically a brand new bike. Before I got there today I was thinking of buying it outright but then the GTI would have to sit outside.

Would have loved to see it stay in the family but I am with you, the F6B FEELS much lighter. I don't think they are all that far apart in actual weight, must be a center of gravity thing or something.

P.S. I TOLD you if you rode an F6B you would buy one.

Fritz, I think the reason they do that is that you can enter various information such as your state (sales tax) trade in, any accessories you may want installed and all sales fees to give you a more accurate number on the total price out the door.

I look at Valkyrie prices as I am going to buy one, I have found them from 3,800 with bling to 10,500 in perfect shape.

10g's is pushing it in any market.  I bet if someone came along and offered 8800 cash, dealer would take it since personally I wouldn't pay over 8500. 

Asking price is just that - only asking to see if they can get that much for it. 

In reality, bling is not worth 1/2 of what it costs, but for sure more than 10 cents on the dollar.  If someone loves all that bling,  someone might pay over 9 grand for it, thus the asking price of 10g.

Apparently you are not familiar with the saying if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. If you read the thread closely you will not find any place where I asked for your opinion about if this was a bike you should purchase. If it's not something your interested in why do you feel compelled to tell everyone else they would be a fool to buy it?

All that really matters is if both parties were happy with the deal. Seems to me Dave was tickled to death with it. The dealer can ask 20k for it if they want, they may not get that unless a guy with "more money than brains wants it". Something is only as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it. To some that bike is only worth 6k tops to others it may very well be 10k.

 First off Al that bikes is in Excellent condition. Dave took real good care of that bike. Its is cleaner than any other Valkyrie I have seen. Including mine. 10K might be a high. But who is to say it isnt worth it.


I personally would give 10K for that Valkyrie than 1/2 that for ANY Harley. JMHO.

It sure is a clean looking bike, but I'm all hung up on the math.  If 10% of what the dealer gave you is $1100, that means the dealer gave you more than what he is asking for it.  I'm getting a headache trying to figure this out!
