Noticed our local new O'Reilly auto store has some large deep well sockets.

So, just in case the need should ever arise and since I have space in my rolling tool box....what are the sizes needed for doing a clutch job. I'd much rather have them on hand ahead of time and never need them, than need them and have to go searching for the sockets. Is there a minimum length of the socket(s) needed? I've never had the "privilege" of doing a clutch job on the Valk, or maybe I could just hire Lady Draco to do it.

Thanks Terry, I'll go check them out. It's a new store and had a huge display of individual sockets, both regular and impact wrench version which I'd prefer if I can get the right sizes. I'll post here if they have it in case anyone else needs them.

Hey Patrick, I have a rather large...uh....tool box.   
Got the larger one at Harbor Freight a few years back along with the roller underneath. It hides all the junk at the front of the garage.

All my large sockets for MGM I got at the Pawn shop.

Paid from $.50 to $1.75 for them.

They don't match, but they work so who cares if they match.

In fact today '10/28/2014' I got a 1 1/2 6 tooth impact socket at the Pawn Shop for $2.00 & also bought a electric Monster Truck for the younger grandkids to ride on when over here.   Gave $10.00 for the little truck and $15.00 for a new battery.

The neighbor kid was in his yard with his dad, told them both to come over, we loaded the truck into my pickup and headed to the school grounds just North of me 2 blocks.

Randy showed his son how to drive and run it and then we turned him loose.

He did real good until he took a very sharp turn around toooooo fast and rolled it over on it's top with him under it, screaming like a stuck Comanche.   Got the truck off of him and he took off for home on the dead run.

We loaded the truck and took off, he beat us home.    His mom was ready to kill both of us.

We put her on the truck and she rode it in front of the house on the sidewalk.   She told Randy, she wanted one.   Told her how I got it and the wind came out of her sail real quick.

RJ, you're a troublemaker.    As for pawn shops, we have one about 3/4 miles away, go by it daily so one day I'll stop and check it out. Last good buy I made at another shop was my old Ingersol Rand compressor. Paid $75 for it over 20 yrs. ago, big unit but quite noisy. A year ago it quit so figured it didn't owe me anything. I advertised it on CL....emphasized it had a good tank but the compressor itself had problems. Sold it same day for $50.

Last good buy I made at another shop was my old Ingersol Rand compressor. Paid $75 for it over 20 yrs. ago, big unit but quite noisy. A year ago it quit so figured it didn't owe me anything. I advertised it on CL....emphasized it had a good tank but the compressor itself had problems. Sold it same day for $50. 

Hey, John.  Ingersoll Rand is my new employer.  If that hock shop ever has the composite/titanium impact wrench, consider it.  It is of the best products I've been associated with.  Made in North Carolina, too.

36mm & 46mm

I think as long as they are deep sockets, you should be fine. But now I'm trying to remember if you need 6 or 12 point.

1 13/16" = 1.8125" = 46.03 mm

The threads write about 32, 36 & 46 mm, along with the 1 13/16" sockets being used.

I don't think you can us the 36 mm in place of the 46 or 1 13/16" sockets.

If the nuts threads are 20 & 40 mm, then 32 mm socket for the 20 makes sense.

The 36 mm doesn't fit anything, and then you would only need the 46 or 1 13/16" sockets for the 40 also makes sense.

So we need a 32 shallow & a 46 deep socket, 12 points.

I might have found them online yesterday. ntxtools.com , they have the size but not the deep 12 point, so I was waiting till today to research some more, and then call them up. I think from $10 - $20.
