Just under two weeks before Biker Girl and I head out toward Inzane XV.cooldude

Realize there's a separate message board for Inzane, but I thought it might be fun for folks to briefly Grin post their ride/trailer/flight plans for the trip to Spearfish.

(Moderators: Bump this thread if inappropriate Embarrassed)

Biker Girl and I will leave NC on June 2 and will make it as far as Columbus OH on Day 1.  Day 2 we'll get to Battle Creek, MI - not to go on a cereal binge but to add the Great State of Michigan to our States Ridden List.

Days 3 and 4 we look forward to riding around the southern tip of Lake Michigan and then the rural roads of central Iowa and northern Nebraska - staying in Dubuque IA and Atkinson NE along the way.

A final push on the Saturday before Early Bird day will bring us to Sturgis for the final night (T-shirts, The Knuckle) and we'll reach Ground Zero on Sunday via Alt14.

Looks like around a 1900 mile ride - All hotels, no camping...

See you there! Cheesy

Our plans aren't nearly as elaborate as yours. We are riding to Durango on Friday and meeting up with Ron N. from Phoenix . Then riding the mountains of CO. on Saturday . Staying just north of Denver that night for the push to Spearfish on Sunday. Look forward to meeting everyone  cooldude

Leaving out of the swamplands on Saturday (not sure of the time), but hope to arrive in Spearfish on Sunday or at the latest Monday morning (depending on when I can roll out of Louisiana).  About 1500 miles, so going to probably break it into an 800 and a 700+ mile days.  As of now, it looks like just pounding the slab up and back - except I might ride diagonal through Nebraska and slide up from the south - not sure yet.

Can't wait to see old family and meet new ones - some I have wanted to meet for a long time.

I have some work to do on Traveller and after being here in Africa for a month, going to have to maximize time with Mama - so can't leave out until Saturday I think.  Sure would like to clip through Colorado on the way up, but just don't think I will have the time....but you never know, Mama may give me a hall pass......  2funny

If I leave out on Saturday - looks like 4 lane up through Louisiana, clip through Texas, up through Oklahoma to Tulsa and across, get on the main slab and up through Kansas, into Nebraska, across Nebraska and up into SD.  Probably the same way back (unfortunately).  I have to help with a Youth Group Summer Camp at the church, so I will have to get home quickly - no sightseeing.

I know it doesn't sound like a smell the roses trip up and back, but I plan on muento smelling while there.

Everyone ride safe!!!! (or at least have fun doing it!) - I know I am going to enjoy every mile! cooldude

Wife has to take her final exam for one of her work certifications Saturday morning, so when she's finished, we're heading out.  Plan to go as far as Sioux City also and then head out for the Early Bird on Sunday.  Who knows, we may see O2S and Da Prez on the way.  Depends on how much distraction the wife finds on the way.

Water lemon Cay?  Henley Cay ?   I found Trunk Cay a little over rated......nice but not many fishies and the "trail" was a tad overused.  Beach was beautiful !  Nice facilities.

ENJOY !!!    Beautiful island.

No - it was snowed in at the time (in June).  But did stop at the turn in with the information and all on it.  That road up there (I am pretty sure it was 14 ) was AWESOME.

I'm trying to get OSS to stop over in Sioux City on the 6th as well.  We're heading out of Fort Wayne, IN that morning after spending the night with the Doenges'.  We're supposed to stop in Omaha that night, but I'm sure we can do another leg to make it to Sioux City!

Oss and I are leaving the northern tip of NYC early Friday morning headed for Fort Wayne, IN to hang with Wayne, Chris, Twila, and Mark for dinner and staying over at Mark's place for the night.  Next morning heading out towards Omaha, NE, for Sat night.  Mentioned to Oss that we should try to do a little more on day 2, and then I saw Old2Soon's post about meeting up in Sioux City which is only a little further.  Ordered a new Alaska sheepskin so I think I'll be good.  Don't think I'll need till end of day 2 anyway (gotta love the Ultimate).

Plans are to leave June 3rd from Arlington, TX and stopping that night near Des Moines, Iowa after a super slab run to get out of the heat of the South.  Friday, have breakfast with RJ and then head to Green Bay to visit Lambeau Field before heading to Rochester, MN for a visit with friends.  Saturday, day ride towards Bismark, ND just sight seeing.  Sunday, leisurely ride to Spearfish, sightseeing along the way before arriving for Early Bird activities in the afternoon.

No camping - motels all the way.

Its only 12-14 miles.  coolsmiley Watch for falling rock tho. Speed is a factor as its not really banked in the turns.
