Hi guys,  hey got a question im sure someone has the answer too.  Ive been wanting to put a i/s. Tank on my tourer.  There is one on ebay that looks in good shape. I have the velcity stacks on mr carbs.
Just wondering if this will fit, if anyone with interstate has this combination. Only few hours left on item and would really like to do this but dont want to get rid of my stacks.  Put to much into them.  There leds
Inside that make it look like its firing.  Thanks in advance

I don't think, not 100% sure though,  the I/S tank will touch the velocity stacks, ONLY the side pods of the I/S have to be trimmed up some to get the stacks to fit and you don't have them on your std/tourer I assume.

I stand corrected, sorry, read postings below, but can be done with mods.

If you are doing the interstate tank because of extra gas I would suggest a belly tank that will answer increased mileage and you don't have to worry about the stacks. It gives you more range also than the interstate tank and you can have a regular fuel filter.

It will work just fine. You need the spacer up front though. Easy peasy  cooldude

By all means go for it. Meathead is right, all you need is a spacer under the front mounting bolt to raise the tank enough to clear the forward stack. Works fine and a lot easier to install than a belly tank. With a good tune on the engine and the I/S tank, you can easily get well over 200 miles/tank.  cooldude

Yes you need the spacer for the IS tank when using stacks..

+1 on the belly tank.
Pros:
3 gallons of extra fuel
eliminate the risk of hydro-lock
lowers the bikes center of gravity, especially nice as the level of fuel decreases.
No special jack adapter needed to lift the bike, just use a block of wood and 2 angle door stops.

Con:
Finding the person to properly solder the bung to the bottom of the tank.

I had purchased a IS tank, by time I got it painted to match the bike... its was a no brainer...

BELLY TANK all the way.

John

would I do it again

You'll need the spacer as described above, but you will also need the plate to cover the whole for the gas gague thingy.

I think also adding a little rubber on the frames where the tank touches

Go with both the I/S tank and then add a belly tank.    cooldude

You'll love the range of this set up.
