The dates for IZXVII are about 98% set for June 26-30 (early bird night, Sunday 6-25).
We are feverishly working with several hotels in several locations.
While there is no official announcement for location yet, expect somewhere in the western half of the country.

You can't do much about the length of your life, so focus on the width.

Awesome...fingers crossed it will be close enough to go!

I hate to hear that.

While I realize that there are reasons for it to move around the country, that pretty much makes it a no go for us.

Connie is just doing that so she can fill in Idaho on her traveled map.  ;D  The way things look, somewhere out west will most likely put me out of the running also. But, who knows what may happen by then?

Looks like no Inzane for me next year.  >:(

I missed the one in Colorado and wouldn't mind seeing one there again. There's some beautiful country out West that I wouldn't mind revisiting.

Can't be west of 12th Ave.  Nothing is west of 12th Ave.  It's all just one big wasteland with a couple of casinos here and there.   :2funny:

Well if it is going to be in the western part of the U.S. count me, larry, and the evil twins out! I had suggested to Scot that Pigeon Forge TN. would be the perfect place because it has everything that a rally could ask for. The GWRRA has had many rallys there, there is more good riding in the area than any other place, there are shows to go to, and for the people who like to shop, you can get on a trolly and go anywhere in Pigeon Forge or Gatlingburg.

Personally I think it is awesome that Inzane moves west again.
We have not had the good fortune of attending Inzane here in the US yet, mostly due to monetary issues, such as new A/C units, cars, roofs, and whatever other fun expensive things life can throw at you. That said if we can (nothing else breaks) we will try to attend Inzane even out west.

I see a lot of folk already saying "count me out" (and it reads a bit, not sure the right word, "threatening" maybe, as in, if we cant go you will lose attendance, so you need to keep it closer to the east) and I can understand that many from east of the mighty Mississippi will not make it, however it will be nice for the western folk to get an opportunity to attend Inzane without the hardship of traveling 1500 miles to get there, so I say support the ones that will be able to make it.
I hope no one takes what I said wrong, its just kind of interesting that for the first time that I have been a member and Inzane was announced there was a lot of negative, we wont go, not the usual celebration.

Yes I noticed it also. I think the planners have an unenviable job. I hope they know there are many that appreciate their work. Hope to see you there where ever there is.  :cooldude:

That's good perspective, Ice.

We have held InZane thrice west of the Missippi, twice in Colorado and once in Spearfish, South Dakota.  People from the west travel many miles to attend InZane in the east.  This year we had a handful that rode about 2400 miles to InZane and our friends from Texas were some 1300 miles away.

Next year's location will likely cause people from Virginia to require a 2,000 mile ride and the folks from Texas up to 1600 miles while only  reducing our California friends to a little under a thousand miles.

InZane XVII is going to be a good time in a great place.

Looking forward to this announcement!!!

In all honesty, for me, it's between home and where ever the location is that is the adventure, just takes some planning.

Drawing a 2000 mile radius circle out of Richmond Virginia, a 1600 mile radius circle out of Houston Texas and a 1000 mile radius circle out of LA California gives a convergence point in northwest Montana.

I had to make a lot of assumptions to come to that, so I'm sure I'm off by at least a few hundred miles, but still a fun exercise just the same.

As for me, I hope to break my 16 year streak of non-Inzane attendance if life allows me, no matter where it's held... I'm not optimistic about my odds, but that has nothing to do with the precise location of the event.

To say no or yes would encourage the guessing game and be tantamount to pre-announcing something that shouldn't at this point be revealed.

That said, keep in mind the search and interviewing are still underway.  The negotiating will follow and ultimately an agreement and announcement will be reached and released.

Oh, and I do tend to round to even numbers.  Zeroes impress me.

I think I got it figured out, but I will not say anything openly because if I am wrong or right, there will be a bunch of moaning and groaning either way.... If I am right its a great area, great roads, and I know of at least one person who makes awesome videos of rides for whom this will be a home game. Cannot wait to see if I am right.....

I just can't believe I missed it by that many miles.  I guess I need to go check my calculator again.     ;)

I love the analytics!! I was starting to do the same thing in my head as I was scrolling down the thread-only to find someone had already done it. Thanks!
Let's ride!

This is kind of fun, I think my calculations are a bit off too, could be a touch east of where I was thinking....

Billings isn't a bad area.  I was there last July with my father-in-law for the BMWMOA national rally.  The had it at the Fairgrounds, but a lot of their attendees camp and there were almost 6000 of them.  They aren't model specific.  Some nice places to see around there.  Good roads and realistic speed limits/suggestions.  I could do Billings again.  Only a bit over 900 miles for me.  :cooldude:

Skinhead

God willin' and the Creek don't rise, I'll be there.  I was in Frisco, CO the week before the last Inzane for biddness, Had to leave the day of the early bird.  I missed out on the riding, but did get to have a drink with Oz the night before I left.  Anywhere is cool with me.  Thanks for the heads up and all the work yinz do to pull this off n'at.

Waiting with bated breath for updated numbers to rerun my projection... ;)

(But seriously, if I thought I could pinpoint it enough to actually cause problems with the negotiations or taking TOO much away from the big reveal, I'd have kept that to myself... )

Pretty good detective work Serk. The one thing missing in your deducing is that I am not good with computers and Connie put that map on there for me several years ago and It has not been updated since. I should have quite a bit more color. You get an E for effort.  :cooldude:

It matters not where IZ17 will be. Some one will complain. You go or you do not go. As long as I am able to ride I will be there to irritate someone. If I failed to irritate you at IZ16 , then show up at IZ17 and get on the waiting list.

Nice analysis, as always.  However, the problem with your projection is that we haven't settled on an exact location.  We are looking at 3 different locations.  Willow was generalizing on mileages.
