So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

I'm seeing reports of 10 LEOs shot, several dead in Dallas due to events that occurred in other states.   Racially motivated?   Seems to be that way.   Folks, stay safe and be prepared to defend yourselves.

My wife's office is on the corner of where this is all happening, she said she could have seen it from her desk if she had been at work...

...trying to convince her to work from home tomorrow, or at least take a gun with her but she's one of those people with blinders on who sees no evil in the world... Scares the hell out of me...

I'm tempted to say that I have no idea why anyone would choose to be a LEO but, I know better.

Some folks see the bad that is happening and still step up to do the good that can be accomplished.

My utmost respect to those LEOs who step up.

Having said that, my appreciation goes out to those who voted for Castle Laws and those who defend the 2nd Amendment.   Protecting one's family and oneself is, not just a right..............

My Heart goes out to all my fellow officers and their families in Dallas, even though retired from the PD for 10 years now I will always bleed blue.

My wife asked me when all this BS against PD will stop, all I can say is never as long as we are all so touchy feely about everything.

I am not saying everything that PD does is right, but tell me what other service dedicated to "Protect and Serve" or as I put it, willing to step in the line of fire for a complete stranger, is under such scrutiny as the Police. Every move they make is a guilty move even when not.

I am certain this will not be labeled a "Hate Crime" even though it is in the extreme

Again my heart goes out to the family and officers of the Dallas PD.

It absolutely should be considered a hate crime but won't for reasons we are all aware. Police officers are not considered a "protected class"....whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.

These fine police officers did exactly what the police officers and firefighters did at 9-11, they went TOWARD the danger.   They did this knowing that their vest would not stop a rifle bullet.

I can't say what i'd like to about these assaults on LEO's because I'm confused as to how the rules here will be enforced.  I also, don't want to piss off some members here because this is NOT motorcycle related. However,  I know who and what what started this war on police officers.

All i can say is my prayers go out to LEOS all over our country.

Well said.   I am  shocked, saddened, and angered, all at the same time.    I have several close friends who are LEOs.   I pray for them, their families and their departments.   The Dallas Mayor and Chief of Police just addressed the past 24 hours and the current situation in Dart/Dallas.   I am confident justice will prevail eventually.

Waiting for the Blame Game to start..................

Some folks wonder why Police are so quick reacting to what they perceive as a dangerous situation.

President Obama said at around 515 this morning that "access to high powered weaponry" is one of the reasons for this tragedy.

So, roughly 4 hours ago, to qualify your statement about blame.

I know.  It sickens me.  Blame all but the perpetrator.

On the other hand, I do understand why he is saying this.  Imagine if he had to admit that his rhetoric and the other anti-police rhetoric was the cause....
He really has nothing else politically to say that helps his stance.  And, in my opinion, he is primarily a political animal as most politicians who have never lived in the non political world.

So is access to oxygen.

So city police coverage of events/protests will now have to include high observation and over watch by snipers as SOP from now on.  Just like our military overseas.

I'm saddened and scared with what has transpired and for the direction we seem to be moving.

This is the second time that police were assassinated following what was PERCEIVED to be bad policing.  Last time was 2 NYC police officers eating lunch in their car following the bogus Hands up Don't shoot lies.

Heaven help us, please.

Don't be surprised when all those "previously military armored vehicles"  and LEOs in full blown riot gear, start showing up at the same events.   Regardless of the "Peaceful Planned Event"

I can't blame them for coming prepared to defend, protect and serve.

My heart goes out to all the maimed, and the shot dead in extraordinary service, of all the LEO's in Dallas and their families.  The one expired shooter talked to police before he blew himself up.  He said he was upset with Black Lives Matter ( I can only assume because they have not got radical enough yet, maybe he meant something different ) and he hated white people especially police officers.

I agree with the above good people who have correctly analyzed the problem.

A criminal (that happens to be black) gets shot and killed while committing a felony by a police officer (that happens to be white) and the POTUS is outraged.

Retaliation by blacks on innocent police officers takes place...out right murder and a hate crime and the POTUS blames guns.

Do we need more proof that this administration is biased, divisive and just looking for more "reasons" to carry out unconstitutional gun control measures.

One correction, the shooter did not blow himself up, the police terminated him with an explosive device on the arm of a remote controlled bomb robot.   This was verified by the Chief of Police this morning.

Am wondering if there are ties to the modern Black Panther group. If so, wonder what the idiot in chief will say then?
Also, Jesse Jackson called the Louisiana shooting "clearly racist" on the Meagan Kelly Fox News program. Meagan Kelly called him out on that comment but he did not back it down. Comments like this serve only one purpose ............

You might not be talking about skin, but "they" are sure are.

Keep the colors apart and angry at each other.

Maybe we should let people police themselves based on color.  Black cops in predominantly black communities and white cops in predominantly white communities.  Mixed communities get the Asian and Indian cops.

And PHUK Treyvon Martin already.  He was 2 blocks away from his destination but turned around to confront a stranger.  He CHOSE poorly!  Had nothing to do with police or color yet his name keeps popping up all the time as some martyr.

Bitingly accurate (IMHO) synopsis from a friend of mine...

"More and more its looks like a replay of 1968. Unpopular failed liberal president, both parties running unpopular liberal candidates, American power and influenced dropping, Russian and Chinese power and influence rising, American in military retreat around the world while still fighting unpopular foreign wars, International terrorism on the rise, riots and police shootings organized by domestic terrorist groups all over the country.
Last time it took 15 years for the country to start recovering somehow don't think it will recover as fast this time and not sure it will recover at all."

And my commentary on that:

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

And Serk's sad corollary - Those who DO learn from history are doomed to watching it be repeated... Sad

I heard the Chief correct the press saying he was not shot but got blown up so I assumed he did have a bomb strapped to himself as he said he did.   Thanks for the correction.  Jeepers this is the first I have heard police using this type of weapon.  Hope the bomb did not hurt the good robot, only the filthy trash that needed to leave this sphere.

In these last two shootings Mr Sterling in LA was a felon that was known for carrying illegally and in the past, in the same scenario as he was killed, threatened police with his illegal weapon.  So I don't blame them, they were acting on a complaint that this bad guy had a gun and acted in a threatening way

The one in Minnesota wasn't a felon but both of these men that got shot had one important thing in common.  The cop knew they were armed and they were not obeying the orders of the cop.  This guy in Minnesota may have been reaching for his ID, but if you are told to stop reaching.....to freeze basically and you continue to reach, is the cop supposed to wait until he gets shot to act?

What it comes down to is listen and follow EXACTLY when guns are involved or you may get shot

So obviously he continued reaching for "it"

Well said. I can't help thinking that what is happening is exactly what our leader wants to happen. Prayers and November are the only things I can see that have a chance of making it better. Right now, every LEO in the country is going to have a hair trigger, and they should, they are being targeted for assassination. And those hair triggers will probably trigger more flame fanning from our leader and more deaths still.
