In the post that Willow removed, I used the term "angry old white guy" repeatedly.  This is apparently an unacceptable term in his eyes.  Though the truth is, the people I described are angry, old, and are white guys.  It's not like I used any inaccurate descriptors.  Willow just opposes accurate descriptors that aren't flattering to him.  Of course words like liberal, moron, and someone whose "mom should come out from under the porch and bite him on the ankle" (and many far worse terms) are perfectly acceptable in his eyes when used to describe those on the left side of the political spectrum.  No, no political bias there. We know he consistently removes any posting denigrating those of the progressive persuasion, right?

As I said, he does a fine job maintaining the echo chamber many members desire.  Do not post anything that disagrees with right-wing ideology lest you want your post deleted by the "friendly, young at heart Caucasian".

There is certainly plenty available among some.  I wouldn't try to identify which side has more or less.  My main point was that one side in particular identifies any opposition as hate and anger thus indicating it where it doesn't necessarily exist.  I don't hate nearly as many folks as some may think I do but I do think a lot of folks are absolutely wrong in their choices.

Would you have some advice on how the other side would go about softening the stereotype of their being lazy unpatriotic communists?

Just poking my head into this thread to see if any happy consensus has been reached since I last looked when it was only one or two pages long.  I think I'll check back in when it's up to nine pages of constructive dialog.  Good work on keeping this thread alive for this long, everyone!  Is it going to turn into an unending "get-the-last-word-in" topic?  I hope the reason for it's ending won't be the same reason the last one ended.

It's odd how different people react to the same stimulus. My post was also deleted, first time that has ever happened to me. I didn't claim it was because of someone else's bad judgement. I didn't burrow into paranoia and claim it was because of my race, or the race, age or political beliefs of the decision maker. Nor did I blame anyone else. I accepted that I had stepped over the line and apologized to Willow for becoming a PIA.

I accepted responsibility for my actions. I don't think anyone here gives a damn what race I am or what my age is and vice versa. At least no one besides DaddyO. For him age and race seem to be giant issues. I would suggest that his focus on age and race show a problem that exists between his ears and has little to do with the rest of us. We are just the focus of his bigotry & paranoia.

To be sure I don't allow myself to get pulled into his tirades again I'm blocking his posts as soon as I figure out how. He will have the honer of being the only one I have ever blocked. It's not because he offends me, it's merely because I know I might in the future again become too weak to ignore him and I don't want to be a PIA to those whose opinions and friendship I value.

  I blocked him long ago and just recently added 2 special guys to that list. It is much more peaceful for me here that I dont have to read what they write. I refuse to click on the show me this post button.
