LED headlights

 Is there anyone running LED headlights ? If so, what brand works best and are they worth it ? Thanks

If you're riding a Tourer or Standard take a look at the Daymaker headlights.  You'll need the bracket mentioned in this thread.  Sounds like any 7" Daymaker that works with a Harley will also work with this bracket for the Valkyrie.

I got one off eBay. It has the modulator in it. Hi beam, lo beam and flasher. Bright as hell.
Cost about $12. Have been using it for almost two years now. Fit inside a stock bucket with no mods.
I did replace the outer lens with one that has the "angel eyes" led surround lights in it. This lens also has a projector lens in it as well. Works, looks, great.
Your mileage may vary...

You have to cut the rubber boot in your housing to fit it, but it takes 5 minutes to install. Well worth the price. Just did a night ride with some buddies and they make me ride lead because the high beam on this thing is so bright it works for everyone behind me when I flick the switch.

I already have a modulator and a Digi-Sync Smart Switch in my headlight bucket.  Think this would still fit. It looks huge in the pics and the buckets pretty crowded.

Can you tell me more about the bulb you installed?... When lit does it fill up the entire can or is it about 50% until you turn the high beam on?

The reason I ask is I just installed 2 different LED lights neither one of which I'm very pleased with... The latest one only fills up half the can on low beam

Has anyone here tried the OPT7 LED in a standard or tourer? Same question as above on the reflector coverage. I had one in my last bike and it was great.

That would be a good deal for a bright LED that lights up the whole can. Looking forward to the pic.

Just for general information purposes anybody considering ordering the Cyclops light may want to check and make sure the can is fully lit...

The light I have is not Cyclops however it looks very similar especially with light refractor's(little tabs that come over the LED light to direct it) built into it... Which I believe make it only fill the half of the can...

Get a free account with Photobucket and load your pics on there. Then go to the top left corner of the one you want to post where you see three black lines. With your cursor on those lines a list drops down and you choose "share."  Another screen shows and you go to the bottom where it says "IMG" and click in the box. When it says "copied" just close the screen and put your cursor where you want the picture to show in your VRCC post, then right click and "paste."  Next, click "preview" to make sure it's what you wanted and the pic will show. Then click "post" and it's on the board. Real quick, no file size adjustment is needed. Below is an example, shows the painting on my fairing.

OK first photo low beam second photo high beam 3rd photo Low beam 4th photo highbeam.
Now having said all this today during daylight hours I was looking at the headlight and the light is very bright but only half shows inside the pot on high beam its the whole pot  but that seems to be the nature of the beast due to the way they are made it has 1900lumen on one half and 1900lumen on the other half so when high beams are selected all the elemenst are lit up. Doesnt matter to me because its way bright htan what I had before and that was halogens anyway let me know what happens.

First, you don't have to write another post, just go back to your previous one and choose Modify. I do this ALL the time, since I misspell and use the wrong word sometimes (like I just did).

In Photobucket, if you click on the picture you want to use, and it opens in another window, on the right hand side is the multiple choices, the lowest one of which is IMG. You should be able to click on the info, and it auto copies.

Then you go to your post, and paste it in line where you want it.



Mine doesn't auto copy anymore, I have to choose to copy it. Don't add anything else, it comes with all the html code intact.
