The physician has run necessary x-rays and ct scan and confirmed the the hernia repair of almost a year ago has reversed itself.  He says it's the first time he's seen that.  I guess it was a good thing something drew her to the doctor.  The CT scan revealed she has some blood clots in her lungs.  She should be home tonight but headed for surgery by Wednesday.

I apologize for hijacking someone else's thread.

She, and you will be in our thoughts, please keep us updated as you're able, but I understand your priorities are elsewhere.

It is definitely most fortuitous that this was caught when it was, I lost a 28 year old friend of mine a little over a year ago to a blood clot in her lung. That's nothing to mess around with, and most of the time the it isn't diagnosed until the person has already passed on, so VERY good hers was caught when it was.

Please give her a hug from me and mine...

My feelings echo the other posts many times over, it's not easy watching your life's partner go through pain and discomfort. My best to you and Lori.

I will add one thing here.....eating my own cooking the last few weeks has helped me lose some weight so  there is a silver lining, albeit a rather thin one.  Wink

We're about to leave to go to the esophagus scan. They have to do that before working on the stomach. Tomorrow is when the surgeon thinks we will move toward corrective surgery.

She slept well last night.  We did not have intimate marital relations.

Carl, we will keep y'all in our thoughts and prayers. Praying for a successful operation and a speedy recover. As to the not having marital relations, you might want to get use to that for the immediate future. Maybe hone up on your culinary skills. lol Just joking. Please keep us updated on the situation.

LOL!  I appreciate the prayers.  Actually one of us doesn't work so well anymore.  It would have been a stretch before imagining a pelvis injury could do that.   Wink  Motorcycle riding (or stopping) may be more dangerous than you once thought.   Grin

I just left the hospital after having another test done.  The readiologist that read my ct yesterday is the one that did the test this morning.  He said this test showed him exactly what he thought it would.  The surgery that was performed last February (and landed me in the hospital for 12 days) has come undone and will need to be fixed.  We spoke for a while about the scan yesterday.  He said that scan was not the one specifically designed for detecting the blood clots in the lungs, but they did show up.  When I asked how many, he said 3.  He did emphasize how serious this is and if I experience any trouble breathing, increased pain, shortness of breath or become light headed to go to the ER.  I will see the surgeon in the morning to schedule the stomach surgery again.
