fork cap tool, do we need this?

Goldwingdocs, posted this in there monthly email. A home made fork cap tool. But we don't need one, do we? We use a piece of plastic to pull by the cap and release the pressure on the spring, if I remember the procedure right, as I haven't needed it, so haven't really followed the threads completely.

I've only needed one special tool to rebuild all the front forks I've done. 

44 mm Lock nut wrench 07VMA-MZ00010A

Used on the left fork to remove the inner fork bolt.

Some have made their own.

I've rebuilt Valks, VTX 1800's and wing forks. Never needed anything like that.

I agree with 98Valk.  You definitely will need the 2nd tool he listed.
