Tell us about your ride today.....

Why yes I did!
Lesa and I finally got a chance to get out and do some riding. Temps have been great lately.
Rode down to a Florida Chapter get-together. Counted 46 bikes there!

Yes.  Western Colorado.  60 degrees.  Hour and a half.  Needed to top off the tank and add stabilizer as the windows for frequent scoots are closing with fewer hours of the day being at optimal temperatures.
Still, any time spent in the saddle (motorcycle or horse) makes for a better day. Smiley
Not winter yet, but it's slowly taking shape up in the high country.

cooldude Great seeing everyone yesterday. Nice seeing Lesa this go round too. Jerry & Sherri sure did a fine job rolling this out. The 5  of us made our way up I-75 to Lake City and took Hwy 90 west home. When we got to Tallahassee I took the guys on the canopy roads around the northeast side to the northwest side of Tallahassee and then got back on Hwy 90 West. It was another great day to ride. You guys have a Great Thanksgiving. coolsmiley

Yes, I did! I had the great pleasure of following the Cool Kids back from the Veterans Day Ride in Cookeville, TN, to Clinton, TN. Great road selection, perfect pace... stops just in the nick of time a couple of times! What a great bunch to ride with and see a slice of 'God's Country' not usually seen by travelers! SmokinJoe does it like nobody else can!!! Punisher even accompanied us...

I'd made a choice and commitment to attend this ride several weeks before I knew about the pizza ride down in Florida. Well, I'd still probably have gone to the VDR anyway, because I've made that ride many, many times, and it's always a special gathering... However, the ride to the 'cottage' and an event hosted by Sherry & Jerry Sheffer is hard for me to miss, too!

I'm frequently amazed at just how much I enjoy the association of folks in our Valk community all around the country... Normally I'm off somewhere riding around by myself, doing my solitary thing... There are several events, though, that just prove too tempting for me to pass on! In this case, a hard choice had to be made, but... Oh well: To answer your question; yes, I did indeed ride!

That's okay, Bruce!

This thread is started just to see where folks go with their bikes on a daily basis. Can be a short trip to the grocery store or a cross country tour. Always nice to know one way or another!

I did!
Great day for it too here in South Texas!
Weather was fabulous!

Couple hundred miles round trip to Kingsbury, TX.  Pioneer Aviation Museum Fly-in and Car show.

Stopped in Shiner for a couple of beers on the way back.

At the show was many Bi-planes, a Tri-plane, couple Gyrocopters, bunch of Powered Prachutes, a couple of WWII era aircrafts, experimental planes and RC displays. I'd guess around 40ish planes in all (not counting the RC planes).

The car show had probably that many vehicles on display too.

This Pioneer Aviation Museum is a replica of a WW1 Aerodrome (sp) field.

And the forest rats were out in force cuz Saturday here was the first day of deer season. AND I did NOT want to fill a tag with my Phatt Ghurl!  Roll Eyes Again-NOT a complaint just some justments as I age!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

Know what you mean about not being out at night. We planned our trip to be back home by dark or at least real close by then because we needed to travel through very wooded, deer populated areas.
The event started fizzing out around two so that was not a problem. (whence the reason we were able to stop for the beers)

Within the last couple of years I've hit a hog and a deer with my little work car, once going to work and the other coming home from work at night. Neither time I saw the animals until they were right in front of me!
That is one of the reasons I do not ride my bike to work, although it would be great daily trips!

I am done, pulled the batteries, changed oil, and one needed an antifreeze change today as well.  All needed left to do is rear gear lube but thinking might as well wait on that until spring but they desperately need a washing since only washed bikes twice this riding season.  Now that I went from 2 to 5 cycles this year,  I forgot how much maintenance and time the 2 took over double time needed now... Sad   I switched from Amsoil at 11.50 per qt. to rotella T6 for 4 bucks per qt. could not justify over 100 bucks more in oil changes alone.

heard some snowflakes might be coming on saturday so that time of year to swap summer all season tires for snow tires on 3 vehicles as well.....    32 degrees for high is just too cold and dangerous to be riding next week....   Sad

A short ride along Fall Creek Parkway 49 degrees & sunny, next 6 days look cold and wet. Try to get out every decent day this time of year.

that is what I do every single year,   put up cycles until the VERY latest but looking at the next 7 days not really one day over 45 degrees with lows in 20s is not looking good.  If there were a few upper 40s still left next few weeks with no rain I would consider keeping the fuel flowing but not looking good.  Most put up their cycles early November but I try to extend it thru Thanksgiving weekend, not so this year apparently.

First time I rode the Valk in almost a month...I ride a bike everyday here in Mesa commuting. Damn I love that bike. It is a totally different ride than the KTM and that is OK...makes me appreciate them both better.

I concur with you having a 250, 750, and 1520cc to run and enjoy them all.  I really get a kick when I pass harleys putzing along at 55 mph me on the 250cc scoot.   2funny   makes me feel good when I fill up at 6 bucks of gas for 2 gallons of 91 octane as well able to go 120 miles to a 2 gallon tank easy enough even though 35-36 mpg on the valk is not too bad either is right up there with most 4 cylinder cars.

Yes-as a matter of fact-yes I did! Guy I ride with-the butcher from a local grocery store-J T-worked last Thursday cuz last Saturday wuz first day of deer season here. But he wuz off today and we headed out in the crisp air and the crystal blue sky. After topping up my fuel tank-NOT a lot of fuel stops the way we rolled-left Mountain Grove Missouri on Mo-95 south all the way til it runs into US 160 which we took east into Theodosia Mo. for a snack break. Done with the calorie intake we jut did a reciprocal on our course. We stopped at Mo. 95 and Mo. 14 shot the breeze fer a bit and he went home from there and I continued up 95 into Mt. Grove and fuel and then home. 178 miles today. There IS such a Pure unadulterated Joy of being in the wind on a day like today that was provided for us. Saw an Eagle next to the road today with It's kill. And earlier in the ride I got a whiff of the robin that Just missed me! Nudder stretch of road saw a big black young dog with 4 white socks that stood in the opposing lane and was barking Soooooooo I barked back! Look on the dogs face wuz Priceless!  2funny cursed good ride today. November and I are Still ridin!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

I even got a chance to test ride my 75 wing after rebuilding the carbs and removing tons of wiring after taking off the Vetter fairing an going stock. I've been working on it for a few months now and still have plenty of work to do. Still not happy with the performance with the stock carbs. Real PiTA. It will not return to an idle and pops .Still think it has an air leak. BTW RDKLL that Valk bobber, I love it. Must be fun to ride.

I did.  It was still 62 degrees F at 20:45.  That's a bit unusual for mid-November in eastern Kansas.  Anyone who didn't ride today in eastern Kansas is in danger of having his motorcycle endorsement challenged.

I did, I have been riding the bobber most of this week...needed to show it some love. It has been in the high 50's in the morning and low to mid 80's in the afternoon.
I had ridden the KTM for almost a month...and then hopped on the Valk. The differences between the two are the most stark that first ride in awhile...and it is why I love having two bikes that are soooo different

well yes--the Indian Chieftain's battery was AWOL at 3 yrs,the Suzuki sport bike's need a charge, the VTX1300 R spun up fine but it had been out recently so the wonder bike was maneuvered  out to cruise the 'hood..several new ..like 3 ..mega subdivisions of Mc Mansions were  noted to be going up where the coyote's used to roam and howl at nite..one guy has a some 30,000 SF residence with a parking lot with stripes....they always said this would be another Highland Park and they are right....a few bursts to redline and long decels to get the Viking header  to working....so many upscale foreign cars...Lake Ray Hubbard was white capping heavily with a cold front that started with a blast at 8 am..
