Trying to cancel hotel reservation, waste of time.

I certainly hope the club's dealings with Sheraton is better than mine. I've been attempting to cancel my reservation for nearly an hour and I can't get a warm body on the line to do so. The main 800 line we used to make the reservation is useless, once I indicated I was going to cancel I was never able to get past a recording telling me they're having a high volume of calls. As for the hotel itself, those idiots won't even answer the phone. Each time they transferred me to the operator to effect a cancellation, I literally let the phone ring for five minutes with no answer. I'd send a fax but the way I'm feeling at the moment it would probably burn up my machine. Plus, they probably wouldn't check their fax machine either.

I'll try later this evening, sometime after normal office hours. Maybe I can engage the custodian in a little chat.  :tickedoff:

I agree......it is a real PITA to get anyone on line, and been that way for weeks.

Was going to suggest that maybe someone else could get your reservation but remembered the CC is attached to that Reservation number.  Soooo, you would still have to get in contact with a person to change the reservation name and CC number....

Good luck.

John, we'll talk to the hotel and see if we can have better luck canceling your reservation.

The reservations for this hotel, unfortunately, are handled by the national line.  When you call the hotel and they transfer they are transferring you to the national line.

I don't like that but we learned it later on.

My problem was I couldn't get anyone at either location/phone number.....hotel or nat'l. line. A multi-national, multi-billion dollar corporation can do better....much better.

John, it is taken care of.
Thanks Lori, I didn't want to have to do this but situations arise where staying home is my only choice. I wouldn't be able to really enjoy myself under current circumstances anyway. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear it, John. I was looking forward to meeting you.
