Ok, It is getting closer to our 4th Tally Rally.  Just a reminder you've got to make the reservations by 10-1-2024. I know that 4 of you have made your reservations and that is great cause if you miss it you want find a hotel with better pricing. I hope to see you all again and new folks for some nice ridding, food and fellowship. Some of last years pic's below.  :coolsmiley:

:cooldude: :smitten: What a Great Thursday-Sunday of riding. Getting to Tallahassee, riding the area and leaving today. What a fun weekend seeing old friends and new ones! The weather was great for some fun days. I want to Thank all those that made the trip and experience this past weekend. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you!  :coolsmiley:

So think about it if you can make it. There is not a FSU football game that weekend. The date is Oct. 26-29th. Same hotel that we have used for the last 3 Tally Rally's, the Staybridge Inn and Suite. Being under new owner ship I was concerned if we could still have the same pricing with everything always seeming to go up. Well good news is they did. $109 & $119.  ;) I know who has registered with the hotel as the new Sales Manager - Cashata McGriff sent me a email last week. Staybridge # 850-219-7000  :coolsmiley:

Keith I'm confused  :o You just posted Oct 26-29.
Your earlier post stated Oct 10-13. That what I reserved at the Hotel.

Thank you Keith for keeping this ride and board alive,  I'm sorry I haven't been much of a contribution lately,  life has so many challenges.  Love you all but can't make it this year.

I'm so sorry, thanks for pointing that out and the phone call Jeff. The correct dates are Oct. 10-13. Not paying attention

A different ride this year too. Not going to the East end of our usual ride on Hyw 98 this go round. So no St Marks Light house this year. Some new roads to the west towards Apalachicola and Port St Joe and back. Then hit new roads around Tallahassee and into South GA. I'd still like to make our lunch ride to Bradley's Country Store again on Saturday though and then in the afternoon on to the Fish Camp for entertainment!  :smitten: :coolsmiley:

That's great, I hope we get all 10 rooms filled. Kieth any interest from day riders only, just not staying overnight.

Yes, we have had some folks come down from GA and then Wood and his wife  Erin live close enough by that they come for the day and go home at the end of the day.  :coolsmiley: You don't have to stay at the Staybridge hotel - ground Zero. Riders can ride one or both days.  :coolsmiley:

:cooldude: 2024 Tally Rally :cooldude: I just spent a great couple of days in Tallahassee. I got there on Monday to work the area and while there I drove the roads that we will be on in 3 weeks :o They are all in really good shape. I road them on Tuesday and today. Our ride on Friday will be down to Port Saint Joe over to Apalachicola for lunch, then thru Carrabelle on to St. Marks area then up to the hotel. It will be a little over a 200 mile day. The stops planned will be nice. We haven't been to PSJ before and it is a nice little community. Highway 98, the forgotten highway.  :smitten:
Saturday the ride around N. Florida and S. GA will be some different roads that you will really enjoy. I'm still trying to get to Bradley's Country Store for our Sausage dog lunch but there is a place we will have to try soon enough. When you get in on Thursday we will do the dinner again at the "Backwoods Crossing" around 5 pm. Hopefully we can do it outside again. Check the temps out before you leave from home. Look forward to seeing you all  :coolsmiley:

:???: I'll be keeping an eye on this possible Hurricane Helene targeting the FL Gulf Coast later this week. Looks like it may go in east of us here in Milton/Pensacola area. It could go in closer to Panama City. That could impact the region for a few weeks especially if it strenghtens to a Cat. 3 or 4. Tallahassee could be in the path so I'll be keeping a close watch and keep you all updated. Stay tuned! :o

:o The Hotel is fine and so is our 1st dinner planned at Backwoods Crossing. However, Lots of damage on the east side with down trees.  Most power is back on in that area with roads already cleared or being cleared. Now South of Tallahassee as you might expect and further east closer to Perry is bad but we will not be that far East where Helene came a shore.
I reached out to a friend of mine who lives just south of Tallahassee in Wakulla County. He is friends with the Sheriff's of the counties along the "forgotten Hwy" on Hwy 98 that we were taking on Friday. He will confirm with me by Tuesday Oct. 1 whether we should hold our 4th Tally Rally. He = Jay, is a rider also and is pretty certain things should be cleaned up along the road ways by the time we have our ride. Now that is our Friday ride.  :???: The Saturday ride in the area should all be cleared, there maybe still some debris off to the side of the road but the roads are good. There was no water damage to the roads.  I'll be getting confirmation that roads are clear. Hwy 90 East out of the Hotel to Monticello had lots of trees over the road and it is now clear to Monticello. I'll keep you updated.
If you have read this and decide not to come I'll understand. But Tallahassee really did get spared. Let me know if you do NOT plan on coming. It helps with the counts. Thank you and stay tuned.

                                                    O

The Tally Rally is on. I've confirmed with my friend who is a local and the Friday ride on Hwy 98 is all clear. The Saturday ride around Tallahassee and S. GA is fine too. Look forward to see you there.
We have a dinner at the Backwoods Crossing Thursday night at 5pm. I'll be at the hotel between 3 & 4 with a couple riders coming over with me, Jeff & Bill. See you that the StayBridge INN on Thursday 10th.  coolsmiley

Has everyone seen the latest hurricane...Milton and its track?  I'm wondering how many of our crew will be affected by this thing

As of 8 am Monday, Milton will impact much later on Wednesday, than previous thought. They are mentioning a storm surge for the big bend area of Florida again.  I had canceled my Tally Rally trip last week, I have friends in Hernando beach and Crystal river, both areas impacted hard by Helene. I have lent out 3 of my 5 generators to friends and repaired 3 others for neighbors. I'm just trying to do my part to help out.
For those still going, please take pictures and post them. I have expressed my joy for this ride that Kieth puts on every year and look forward to attending future rides.

My Niece Angy and her BF are out for the Tally Rally, also. Hurricane Milton is part, but not all, of the cause. She cancelled her Reservation about 3:00 this afternoon.

Are you going to come down for any of the ride?

At this time, I hope to meet up with you Friday or Saturday.  But of course a lot will depend on Milton's effect on the area.  Though I don't expect a lot of storm damage over there, the evacuations from mid-state might be a player.  I'll try to check the back roads towards Monticello today or tomorrow, Helene left quite a mess around here.  I reminded Randy yesterday, so we might both be down.

I spoke with Keith yesterday. To much to do and prep for Milton so I regretfully cancelled.  :'( We are going to stay put . We are not in a flood or evacuation zone. One of my wife co workers lent us a nice generator cause I know power will be out. Hopefully today I can get an extra tank of propane. To all that are going have a fantastic time and enjoy the beautiful weather that is forecasted. Post up plenty of pics  :cooldude:

That would be great if you two could come down to join us. We leave out on Friday for PSJ-Port Saint Joe by way of back roads thru Leon and Gadsden County on down to PSJ. Then ride Hwy 98 along the coast to Hwy 59 which will run north back towards Tallahassee. We will leave the Staybridge Inn no later than 9am but trying to target a KSU by 8:45. I made that run about 3 weeks ago just before Hurricane Debbie hit Perry and part of East Leon and Jefferson County-Monticello area, it was great. I was told the roads are now clear and the ride should be fine. Plan to eat lunch in Apalachicola at the same spot as last year. I called them and they are fine. The Saturday ride we will leave out of Staybridge with a KSU 8:30. That day will be nice but not the miles that Friday will be. We will ride east Leon County, Jefferson, up to GA line and back down to do lunch at Bradley's Country Store. Do some more riding in N. Leon County and end  up at the Fish Camp off Hwy 12 just off of Thomasville Rd. Glad you said something to Randy. With the Hurricane going thru Tampa and the middle of the state to Daytona we have maybe 5-6 that have had to cancel as they had to prepare. Most folks that are in the area that left the Hurricane Zone should be heading  back home Thursday and most likely by Friday. We will be heading west in the morning on Friday so no traffic issues. Safe travels and hope to see you and Randy.

I checked out the back road to Monticello yesterday and verified that it is open.  We won't be able to make it Friday, but hope to work something out for Saturday at least.  I'll probably text you (Keith) later today, after I see how family did with Milton.

Another successful Tally Rally. Keith will be along soon to post pictures. Hope all of you recovering from the hurricane are doing well

Farside

:cooldude: Thank you Jeff. Yes the 2024 Tally Rally was a success. It started with 4 of us on Friday's ride which was really nice. The direction was one that I liked over the first 3 rides. So looks like we will do that one again. It was nice to have others join the ride on Saturday. It started with my HS friend Jay who lives in Tallahassee. Then my friend Wood Butcher= Mark from near Perry, FL join us to start Saturday morning ride. Then around 12 noon we had 8-10 more join us at Bradley's Country store from Valdosta, GA for lunch. They were Valkyrie riders and HD riders from Southern Cruisers. So all of us went on a nice ride on great back roads in N. FL. We said bye to the Southern Cruisers about 2 and Wood then went home too. So we then took a nice ride up to Boston, GA for some Ice Cream. Another great back road ride with Big Trees, shaded roads, Hills and curves and back to the Staybridge. Sorry those that had to miss due to Hurricane Milton so hope all is well. Hopefully we will see you next year! Here are a few pictures.  :coolsmiley:
