I can think of three guys I've let ride mine, all are valk owners and people I trust. Let them take my valk for various reasons, usually to try the CT,  or so I could try theirs while they followed on my cycle.

Yes, trusted experienced friends. If I had not been allowed to ride a friends valk, I would not be in the fix I'm in now. I had to go buy my own, get back into the wind, join a bike club (VRCC). meet lots of new friends. Feel ten years younger.      It is well insured and can be replaced.

I have allowed a very few others to take my fat lady around the block, I'm pretty particular about who she goes with.    There are a few trusted others I have actually invited to take her out.    The count is small in both cases but, I have done it.      It's kind of like who would you trust to date your daughter.    There were very few.   We all know they want to find her limits and just how far/fast she will go and what kind of ride she'll give ya.

Don't usually let anyone ride my bikes but one time when I had my Gl1200 Aspencade a whole bunch of us went on a camping holiday to Scotland, there were about 20 of us. We were in a field drinking lots of beer, playing silly games...one of the games was a slow riding slalom made up of our plastic plates...I just rode straight over every single plate and broke every one...

Everyone wanted to ride the Wing and with that much beer inside me I just let any of em take it round the field...fortunately no harm was done and no one dropped it, don't know how...

2 of the guys from that trip bought Wings as soon as we got home after that trip..

I'd probably say no to that as well even a fellow Valkyrie owner.  I don't have medical payments on my cycle or scooter for anyone on cycle insurance policy since we have family medical/health insurance.  Doubt I would ever let anyone outside family even ride _itch on back for same reason, although a few nice on-lookers have asked I wouldn't mind giving a 'ride'. 

Medical payments was like 1/3rd of the policy price which is a lot.  Our insurance agent even said med. payments not needed as long as you have health insurance and ONLY allow family members to ride with you.  If you allow anyone to ride or ride as passenger on back without medical payments,  regardless of how close a friend you have,  you are opening up a can of possible problems down the road in case someone gets hurt even if not your fault in an accident.

Plus,  I don't trust a lot of people even your closest friends can, if given the opportunity,  stab you in the back.   In today's lawsuit happy world,  everyone seems to be looking out for themselves and getting the easy way out of life.  Two of my co-workers have filed lawsuit on someone and even though I don't know the details and don't care to know,  one of them is getting a HUGE payout. 

I even don't have any insurance on my 3 ATV's or fishing boat.  Hope I don't jinx myself on that lawsuit thing in the very rare case I would happen to cause an accident on them the very few times I get them out per year.

I would let 2 of my 3 Biological brothers ride my Valk, and maybe 2 or 3 of my Valkyrie brothers.

Also if I felt I might have someone who:

A) Was thinking of getting a Valkyrie

and

B) I felt would be worth Riding with

Then I might let him ride mine. That's how Regis got me on one! (Plus he was DYING to throw a leg over my Victory!)

It's my experience locally, that except for a few select new bikes, dealers will not allow any rides on their used bikes. Not even in their parking lot.

I let a 'friend' ride my new 1982 Goldwing back in the day, he drooped it while turning around at a dead end street  . Lesson learned, never again!

At a ride-in in Montrose some years ago a club member I had just met OFFERED to let me ride his 350 Boss Hoss.  I would never have asked.  I said "Love to, but I'm intimidated as hell."  He said "if you can ride that, you can ride this".  He was right.  The BH was very well mannered, you just need to respect the weight and power.  I've never rode anything that pulls as hard before or since.  I'd say it's more like a carrier catapult ride than a vehicle.  After getting the hang of not smoking the tire, from a standing start I counted off 3 seconds to go from zero to over a hundred.  No shifting, it's like turbine power.  Well you can shift, but high range isn't needed to go from 0-100.

Letting others ride Deerslayer?  Yeah I've done it a couple times.  Only experienced Valk owners. And I know some of them whose riding ability is too lacking to pilot Deerslayer.  Probably won't now, since I've gone darkside, it's not quite as well mannered.

I had a friend help me rebuild a carb on a car of mine. All day long I heard HD this, and HD that. At the end of the day he asked to ride my Suzuki. I let him.. he crashed it.

I inherited my Valkyrie from my father. It's the most special bike in the world to me. Only I ride it.

I have offered to let other experienced riders ride mine, and have had a few that did.  Most of the time it was other Valkyrie owners.  I have had a couple of blower bike owners offer to let me ride their bikes...and "I will take them up on that"

I've swapped bikes for a few miles with a couple of Valkyrie owners and one M109R rider who is a friend of mine, but other than that, none have asked and I haven't offered.  I would certainly need to be pretty confident in their riding after having seen them ride for a little while first.  As a former instructor, I can size up their basic skills fairly quickly.

I was in the Smokey Mnts some years back up on newfound gap between gatlinburg and Cherokee. I had gotten off the bike (it was a shadow at the time ) I was walking around taking in the site and looked over and about 5 people at my bike taking turns sitting on it and taking pictures,I walked over and was just watching them (didn't say anything) then one said is this your bike? I said yes and I would appreciate you getting your ass off it,the reply was you don't have to be rude. Rude I said was getting on my bike without asking how would you like it if I were to go get in your car and start turning knobs opening the trunk prowling around? He said I wouldn't and that is when I said do you get the point? He apologized and I said I would have had zero problem if they had only ask.
But as to the question only 2 other people have thrown a leg across my Fat girl one I used to rode with all the time and the other that was looking for a new ride but I also rode with him a bunch.

Yeah, that kind of behavior (climbing on someone's bike, cause it is there) is the kind of thing to take my normal sunny disposition to cloudy.  Rode to work in DC once in a while as parking was only a quarter an hour for bikes parking right in front of my building a block behind the whitehouse.  As you would imagine, tourists (called tourons) from around the world were wandering daily.  And occasionally sat their kids on any bike they chose for cute pictures. 

Pardon me, may I see your camera?  Uh, why?  Because I feel like sitting on it, like you are doing to my motorcycle.  Sorry, sorry.  Yes... you are, aren't you.  BTW, the Idiot lives over that way (pointing), why don't you walk over and sit your kid up on the fence and see how that goes for you.  Bye now.

Then there was the 127 yo vet who backed his car into a fellow's bike and knocked it over (very gently).  He began to try to pick it up, but it appeared that the mere act of bending over would kill him, let alone powering it up.  I did it for him, and helped him in the building for his formal hearing before one of our judges.  We got everything straightened out, notified the bike owner, made sure the vet was not cited for anything.... he had insurance and the damage was slight.  It was my privilege to meet many old warriors down there (and conducted a number of their hearings)..... I think that guy had served in the Spanish-American War with Teddy.

I grew up on bikes, but had gone 19 years without riding.  A lot of you can relate.  My buddy had a '97
Standard and offered to let me ride it, while he went along on his wife's Suzuki.  Two weeks later I owned my '98 Tourer.   Yeah, he can ride mine, and has.  Almost anybody with experience on a comparable bike can ride mine.  Would I let somebody who hadn't ridden a bike in 19 years?  Hell no!

Lent Duffy (USA) one of my Valks to ride in the UK when he visited in 2012 and he lent me one of his to ride when we visited the USA last year. 7500 miles on a borrowed bike coast to coast and back again - what a blast. We know one another, ride the same bikes so no problem.
He's visiting the UK this summer to attend the Euro Inzane (UK this year) so the arrangement continues.
