Just Wondering how many Valkyrie riders are on here from the VA and MD region?  Once I get my bike out of the Hydro lock hell I'd like to hook up with the locals around me.
1997 Valkyrie
1970 Honda CB 750 Chopper
1997 Harley Road king
1980 Harley Wide glide
1965 Triumph Bonneville 650
1986 Harley Sportster
1980 Yamaha Special II

The emperor has no clothes

There are quite a few. They are doing a ride in a couple weeks I think. Post on the general board and you'll get plenty of responses I'm sure :cooldude:

I'm in Fairfax, where in VA are you?  (EDIT: never mind I see you are out in W VA...   ;D

I will be riding out that way tomorrow if you need help.)

Need some help with the bike to get it up and running?  I'm no mechanic but I can unbolt and bolt with the best of them.

I hate to tease you while your bike is broken, but a bunch of
us are headed in your general direction in about two weeks for a
probably epic ride...

I'm in Fairfax County (Alexandria).  And I always ride West, somewhere.

Let me know when you are ready to ride.

I will be down at lake Anna this weekend with my family but I would love some help when I do finally take the plunge. Have you ever taken a motor out before?

Yuri (ICE) lives in Winchester and is a Great guy.

I'm in the Roanoke area, I don't get that far north very often but anytime that you want to ride in this area give me a shout.

If I'm not working, I'm usually ready to ride.

Like others have said we have a ride in planned in Bedford, PA on Labor Day weekend.

IT will most likely be an epic event.

Nope and I don't expect it to be easy.  I only offer a second pair of hands and eyes.

Did you see this thread?  He is doing the same thing...

I'm a "soon to be" Virginia Valkyrie rider.  I'm heading back to Norfolk area... probably Chesapeake.  My brother lives up in Woodbridge and I plan to do some rides with him up there (although he has a Harley).

Any of you guys do the "Rolling Thunder" ride?

We're supposed to be leaving California in December, we're all very much looking forward to heading back home!

Woodbridge is a few miles South of me.  Let me know when you're up here.

Yes in the past, never again.

Have fun with the move.

Thanks Jess!  I've seen you on here frequently, it'll be nice to meet you in person!

As far as the move... stressful with 5 kids, but we usually take our time and see the sights.

I'll have to give Rolling Thunder a try... at least once.  Hard to enjoy being around a crowd of bikes though.

I have ridden in rolling thunder before.  once in the parade was enough for me. we go every year to the wall to pay our respects but I don't think ill ever line up to over heat again.

Your Valkyrie overheated?

I've only had my Valk in San Francisco area without too many times above 80F... certainly not stop and go traffic.

It's a great cause and great event, but imagine lining up with a half million bikes, always on a hot day in bright sun in the concrete Pentagon parking lot (no shade), mostly with loud pipes (thus the Thunder), extremely limited places to pee (besides your pants), and walking/rolling your bike, for hours and hours.

The most fun to be had, is to meet up at one of the regional Hog dealers early (like East Coast Harley right outside Quantico Marine Base), and riding up to the Pentagon with only 8-10K bikes where you might get up to 45-50 mph a few times with a police escort.

I served 9 years' active duty and rode in it 3 times..... I don't have to go anymore.   ;D

Finally, you get to move (time to test your 1mph riding).

Thank you for your service Jess.  Thanks for the pics!

Best years of my life.

Hey, don't let me discourage you.  Everyone ought to go once.  ;D
