Wife's car at the moment...

They still need to cut the roof off, but they're doing the PDR part at the moment...

The fifty circles are amusing.  Not that the car got beat up, but are they planning to fix each ding?  You would think a new fender more economical than labor to repair 50 circles, so why bother IDing them?  A bump shop photo to justify a new fender to the insurance co?

None of my business, for sure.

In any event.... ouch.   :(

I remember doing/paying USAF claims work for hail damage (for active duty mbrs).  It was so common in ND/SD that the claims manual disallowed any auto hail claims in those states, and all mbers were so informed.  Not that folks were standing in line for those assignments (sorry Mel).

Why not Minot?  Freezin's the reason!

:'(  I'm so sorry to hear that.  It always hits me hard to hear of a young person who has decided life is not worth continuing.

..

It's cheaper to do all this than total the car?

Insurance companies are weird.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I would have guessed it would be totalled.

$10,000 to fix it.

I'm also betting there are thousands of vehicles in the area getting the same work.

Make sure you get a check for the "diminished value".

Now da'Altima's got no doors!

It's in primer...masked for the areas that had to be sealed/blocked. The new hood and deck are paint-ready so they will be painted off the car (but in the same booth/time.  The new roof will be unmasked for paint.

Supposed to be in paint Saturday. Then, if all goes well, clear-coated. Then put back together. Then...gad.

It's been in the shop for six weeks. May take two more. :( We had to turn in the rental 10 days ago as the coverage expired.

We have paint!

It's in assembly...and brother it needs a LOT of assembly.

Think I should be checking ebay for all the missing parts?

Almost 8 weeks in the shop and 10 grand in repairs and we've got the wife's ride back!

It looks great!

That is, so far...the ONLY thing repaired so far from the storms that clobbered us...nothing else has even been started!

It looks good.  Progress is progress.  I was surprised with the damage they even chose to repair.  It appears that smarter people than I were making the decisions.   :)

Heh...nah, it's all about the money. It's still new. $10,000 to repair, $23,000 (ish) to replace.

Holy cow that is a big job.

And that is a big roof.  We could have an Inzane up there.

Sorry for your troubles (and expense).

By my hand our tower is saved...we are, at least, 6 months after the storm...weather-tight...

By which...I'm probably accidentally challenging Thor to another duel...
