We have numerous good roads in South Carolina that lead into the mountains north of
Hwy. 11... 178 is real good, 130 just got paved... 28 starts being good in South Carolina.
None of them are very long though, the mountains only stretch into South Carolina
a little bit.

But my "favorite" roads are these "three sisters", like rungs on a ladder between 76
and The Cleveland Pike. I guess they count as my favorite since they're the ones
I "take a quick afternoon ride" on most often. I brought Joe and Wimp and Gordon
down these roads last winter, Joe said our damn governor should quite worrying
about the Confederate flag and pave some of our roads

....or Province? For plain old riding pleasure, lack of traffic, wilderness, scenery, variance (curves, hills, mountains...lakes...streams), definitely Highway 6 from Vernon BC across the Ferry at Arrow Lake and on to Nakusp. Has been completely re-paved over the past couple of years so the surface is good even up in the higher, more technical sections near the summit where traditionally you'd get frost heaves from the previous Winter. Several great little towns along the way with lots of BC mining history, and is a MUST ride for anyone riding in BC.
From Nakusp, you can continue on to New Denver then Kaslo, Nelson, etc. along majestic Kootenay Lake, taking in other popular and equally scenic (although a bit busier) routes such as Hwy 31A, 31, and 3A.

State road 135 from nashville to brownstown. I ride it so much I'm sick of it and now tend to take country backroads at a slower pace.

County road 106 from 7 lakes drive to route 1 on the way to Hawks Nest   Its pretty awesome in both directions since it was fully re surfaced  

2nd place would be downhill toward 9 from Lake Placid (but only if they fix the damn potholes and washouts on the right side of the lane the 20 mile downhill stretch

I took the group thru 106 in October  

3rd place would be Claryville Rd which is also called W Branch road in the Catskills. The whole way you are in deep woods with streams on either side and no cell service  That will be on the ride next year one way or the other

Rt 28 from Woodstock straight up into Cooperstown. You can even stop at the Ommegang brewery and throw a couple back before the return trip!

The Three Sisters is a great ride, but Hwy. 16 from Kerrville to Hwy. 337 is a pretty awesome ride as well.

well..west of Ft Worth.Tx..it's hilly,high speed bendy and lendingly to highways 4/16 from around  Muenster to Stephenville...makes you wish we lived where ..we could ..live a little free'er

Well, this is easy..... Skyline Drive becomes the Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) all the way from Front Royal VA to TN and NC.  

Now there are many shorter stretches of road all over the place here that may be more fun and exciting for awhile.  But none beats the BRP for one-road all-day pleasure.

And except for holidays, traffic and cross streets are minimal.

We do have a nice loop around 4 lakes about an hour away, but the pavement is crap and it's packed with cabins and low speed limits...next closest good road is probably the Black Hills.

(And now that the statute of limitations has expired, the last time I rode it I accidentally crossed into Mexico at the Presidio crossing with my sidearm on me. It was good. Ron put together a ride there 2 or 3 years ago. It was fun. Its just a long ways for me and have only done it once so far. Thinking back about it, it was dampened because we had some friends with us that couldn't keep up. It wasn't enjoyable having to constantly slow down for them.

I usually only make it to Whistler, eat, and turn around, easily done on a work day between rush hours. But to continue all the way through the Duffy Lake Road, and then come back through the Fraser Canyon, for a circle route, makes a very nice long days summer ride, 12 hours.

Can't really do a specific road here in Iowa but can point to a couple regions.

Eastern Iowa with the Great River Road. The Great River Road encompasses a number of State and county roads from Keokuk to New Albin. I get on this side of Iowa maybe once every couple year with the bike.

Western Iowa. The Loess Hills run down the western side of Iowa. Number of roads, mostly county roads,
run through the hills. I am on this side of the State and ride often in the hills. Spring and Fall are a little dicey on these roads as they are in rural areas with many blind hills and curves which pose issues during planting and harvesting season. Lot of ag traffic. But great roads.

My favorite road to ride is I75 south because it gets me out of Ohio to much better Kentucky roads. There are some decent roads near me but they are only a couple miles of good riding after too much time and miles in congested traffic. 95% of my time on 2 wheels is spent in other states since I can get to Kentucky or Indiana in less than 15 minutes and avoid a lot of traffic

That (Hwy 6) is definitely one road where I've let loose a loud, long, "Yeeeeee-Haaaaawww" a few times inside my helmet.  I've only ridden it heading from west to east, though.

Yep, have done that route more than a few times. There's one big problem with it though...it can be extremely dangerous, as it's very difficult to keep your eyes on the road in front of you

Blue Star HWY from Andrews Ind to Wabash Ind. Its actually the old 2 lane US 24. Nothing fancy just less traveled. Hilly and curvy. Back way into the reservoir/ State forest.

In Ontario...Hwy 2 from South Lancaster to Deseronto with a detour on to the 1000 Island Parkway between Brockville and Gananoque. 

This ride brings you along the St. Lawrence for a good bit of it, so it can be a cool ride in the early spring or late fall.

We usually only make it to Kingston before we have to turn back.  We have done this ride dozens of times.

(299 isn't too shabby either. Recent road construction west of Redding obliterated our Deals Gap of the West. Eight miles of twisty bliss has been reduced to six miles of sweepers.  )
