Just throwing out a guess,

Using Serk's Serkle And with some thinking New Mexico and other's Colorado.

I found a place in Taos, NM that has ample meeting space but is a little light on rooms.

Knowing some of the parameters that are necessary for a suitable location, I don't envy our staff at all when it comes to picking a suitable location.

Especially, when trying to plug those parameters into a google search doesn't yield much in the way of results.
I went thru Taos a little over a week ago. It would not make for a good IZ. Heavy traffic and narrow roads. I was actually glad when I got thru it.  Tongue

Camdenton, MO looks like a nice location. Lots of interesting things to see and ride within 2-3 hours.

Intriguing.

Under 500 miles from me.

Over 1400 miles from Agassiz, British Columbia. (WAY over 1400... Over 2100 road miles)

Twisty roads between me and there.

West of the Mississippi.

There appear to be appropriately sized and priced accommodations in the area.

And reading between the lines, there was a passing reference to Vanna needing more than her learner's permit, since that's only good in the issuing state, which would rule out my earlier prediction of the Texas Hill Country.

Wondering if I need to try my hand at golf again maybe?

If you study just a bit, you'll see that since we began alternating east and west the Mississippi has not been the dividing line.

As far as hints.... it's probably within range for Serk to allow Vanna to pilot to the event.  No, not Serk's house.

So, just curious and not germane to this post of course, roughly how far, just a ballpark, is an acceptable range for a 16 year old with less than a year's riding experience riding a Valkyrie?

Totally off topic question that just popped into my head, mind you.

Serk, are you serious???

Not even a minute.  A valk is a pretty large bike to have a person that young riding it and so new to riding.  The question should be...how many times will it be dropped in the first hour.
Someone learning to ride should not be on anything larger than a 500cc non sport bike.

It must be exhausting being so negative all the time.

It could be relevant, if the hint is that the site is west of the Mississippi, however the dividing line is some other thing, knowledge of which would help further narrow the location down.

I'd say Olathe Kansas as the dividing line, however there have only been 3 locations (1 repeat) west of that spot.

Even using The Mississippi as the dividing line, we still end up with only 4 locations west, 7 east of and 1 basically on it more or less. (I'm counting locations, not years, recognizing there have been repeats.)

West of the Mississippi has been flat out told to us as a data point, so yes, that it'll be west of the Mississippi is a given.

However, if the dividing line VRCC staff are utilizing in their west/east/west/east pattern is something other than the Mississippi, (And if that line is itself west of the Mississippi) knowledge of what that dividing line is could help further narrow down the location for next year.

I don't think there formally is a line, just an observation that the site tends to rotate between eastern and western year by year (With exceptions, of course.)

The point of my recent response to Willow is that f6gal did give us a line, an eastern boundary of the Serkle for InZane XIX:  Ol' Man River (the Mississippi River).

Wow. Of the 18 Inzane's so far, I have been to 14.  I missed the first one. Went to the second for a day and did the thousand Valkrie march to the plant in Marysville. Missed the third. Went to the following 5. Missed the second Frisco CO due to someone else getting that week off at work. Made both in Bellaire MI. Missed #12 in Eureka Springs. Made the remaining ones up to now. Although Spearfish was in a car because I broke my left ring finger the month before.  Have made many friends as a result of this motorcycle we call the Valkyrie AKA "the Dragon". Looking forward to making more......

Since starting with InZane VIII in Johnson City, I've been to all of them.  With some planning and enough time to do it, HayHauler and I have knocked out the lower 48 on the way to and from InZanes, starting with IX.  There are several ground zeros I'd like to repeat, and several host states I'd like to repeat, but I'd really like IZ to be in a state that we've only blasted through on our travels.  While hitting them all in a relative hurry, we've seen lots of places we'd like to go back to and spend more time.

It would be cool to see the numbers, but back when Valkyries were the cool new
thing, InZane could draw 1,000 bikes, I think... so it wasn't the locale...

Now to see if I can start analyzing possible ground zero hosts within those areas to see which are even possible with the logistical constraints we're known to be working under...

To throw my 2 cents worth in here;
- I would say you could draw a straight across under the left eye whereas anything south of that would be to hot.
- Misfit is in Colorado Springs, but not much good riding around there so rules out central CO.
- Santa Fe is a good bet.
- Attic Rat needs to weigh in on possibilities in Oklahoma.
- My bet would be Northern Arkansas. My parents are in Mountain Home (hint, hint), so I would have accommodations (a'hem).

For what it is worth I would like some place cool to ride like Colorado Springs has a lot to offer. I like Hot Springs Arkansas great riding it that area. Springfield, MO also has Hotels and good riding in that area too.

Nope, never had close to 1,000 bikes.  People think that, but no, didn't happen.

You can see the second year in the same place had a significant drop off in attendance over a previous yesr. Even the second Frisco CO three years after the first had a big drop. So it makes sense to move it around.

Here is the full post to which Willow referred, with updated numbers:

The 2 first years are a bit vague (we've learned some lessons along the way).  At InZane 1 & 2, the Honda folks said they counted over 800 as we passed through the plant entrance.  However, that is far more than we counted for our official Guinness record breaking paperwork, which was just under 350 (I don't have the exact number at hand, I think 346 at IZ1).  Despite redoubling our efforts to get every bike counted at IZ2, we had less than the year before (330ish).  The 800 count (meaning about 1200 attendees), simply doesn't make sense from the hotel room and Sat. dinner count.  Based on our bike count, hotel bookings, and the number of ppl served at Sat. dinner,  we've estimated the attendance IZ1 at about 475 and IZ2 at 445.  So with all that said, this is my best calculation for each InZane:
IZ1 -  475 - Zanesville, OH
IZ2 -  445 - Zanesville, OH
IZ3 -  310 - Zanesville, OH (This is why we started moving it around the country)
IZ4 -  436 - Paducah, KY
IZ5 -  296 - Paducah, KY
IZ6 -  526 - Frisco, CO (First year we went West)
IZ7 -  415 - Johnson City, TN
IZ8 -  326 - Johnson City, TN
IZ9 -  318 - Frisco, CO
IZ10 - 515 - Bellaire, MI
IZ11 - 351 - Bellaire, MI
IZ12 - 320 - Eureka Springs, AR
IZ13 - 312 - LaCrosse, WI
IZ14 - 362 - Asheville, NC
IZ15 - 364 - Spearfish, SD
IZ16 - 403 - Morgantown, WV
IZ17 - 308 - Billings, MT
IZ18 - 319 - Roanoke, VA
IZ19 - 14 - Surprise, AZ (hahaha, just kidding)

Two years we broke 500 (highlighted) and 1 year we fell below 300.  As you can see, without fail, each successive year in the same location attendance is lower, which is why we started moving it around.  Seems folks want to see new places... go figger.

Hey Connie. I was at inzane 2. I came over for one day to be part of the Valkyrie March. I don't remember registering so I'm  not sure I would have been part of the official hotel count.

The low turn out for the second Paducah might have had something to do with the heat..lol..

The primary factor in my calculation was our bike count at the Wal-Mart organizing spot.  The hotel bookings and ppl at Sat. dinner were mainly for confirmation.  Obviously we can't go by hotel rooms, because there are locals, day pass folks, etc.  However, using the bike count could actually overestimate our InZane count, since folks that only did the Valkyrie March, didn't really attend InZane.

And, yeah, Paducah heat was even worse the second time.

I notice F6Gal isn't giving more hints, and they seem to have taken Willow's keyboard away...

Must mean we hit close to the mark... Maybe...

But which mark was the right mark...

Hmmmmm..

Well, there have been some very good guesses.  To be fair, and in full disclosure, I won't reveal the site until we're sure that's where we're going.   And if Willow does, I may break his fingers.

Well, I'm not one to be controlled by threats, even from my boss.  I will tell you the guess of Missouri in the Ozarks was very disturbing.   Smiley

At an Arkansas rest area on my recent trip to TX , I picked up several maps of motorcycle roads in the Ozarks.

Maybe, I should look them over really well and pick out some roads that I'd like to ride.  Wink

It would have to be somebody other than me for sure, I know nothing about the area.

But, the maps have sparked my interests in going there.

Doing it as an Inzane would just be a big bonus.

A short while back we had InZane in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  Wonderful motorcycle road are available in every direction out of the Springs.  It would be a worthwhile place to visit with or without an InZane.

Oh, when people speak of motorcycles and Arkansas be sure they're talking of northern Arkansas.  For the motorcyclist the southern half (or two thirds) of the state are not nearly as nice.

Just about anything North of I-40 and central to western Arkansas has some good riding. Hwy 7 going South from Russellville to Hot Springs is a nice route. Once you get South of I-30, it's slim pickings. There are a few good roads, but it is very few.
