Bike only came with one key... I know with the newer bikes it can be a pain getting an extra key (don’t get me started on FOBS) but curious what blank to use to have another one made...

The Search function works great ("key blank") for answering common questions.

Just had a few blanks cut the other day.  Sorry, I'm not around them, but they were standard ILCO or Taylor blanks.  Nothing special.  $6/EA.  I went to one of those key kiosks to see what they offered.  $40/EA !!!!!  Support your small locksmith.  I can get they have the right blank.

As others have suggested local locksmith.  I recently picked up a project bike with only 1 key, stopped by locksmith, was in and out under 2 min and it cost $4 to have a spare made.

At one time I had access to a key cutting machine, courtesy of a buddy of mine who among other things is a locksmith.

Cutting keys was downright easy. Finding proper blanks in the pre-Internet days was a little more challenging.

Had my local small Honda dealer cut two for me at $5 a key. Took him about 3 minutes.  He had his own hand held key cutter because he use to be a repo man. Told me he could cut a key for any machine in a minute or so. (With no fob of course)

Here’s another vote for https://www.cyclekeysonline.com/ if you want a key with the factory-like plastic top like I did. Great service and quick turnaround.

Do you have the OEM key with the key number on it? Most good lock smiths can cut from this code rather than making a copy of your used/worn key. $5-10. I then get a copy cut from the new key, and put the code cut key away somewhere safe to be used to make copies from.

Especially a good idea if your only key is worn. They all lose some of their "sharpness" after years of pushing the tumblers into position. A traced copy of a worn key is, well, worn. If you have a good key, having a spare or two isn't a bad idea.
