Hello everyone.
last year I purchased a '98 standard that had a lot of after market chrome and such. While the bike does have "hard bags", they are the generic black bags that look like leather.  I have always liked the look of the super Valk and plan on moving my bike in that direction with a future purchase of a Woody's fairing.  I have also purchased off of e-bay a used pair of harley hard bags (painted) for the '93 and up tourers and I am planning on fabricating up some mounts for the valk.  I have searched but have not found very much info. on this modification.  I have found several websites on adapting the hardbags to other makes and models of bikes, but not the valkyrie.

I will take pictures as I go and try and do a writeup to post here.

My question to all of you is; What advice do you have for doing this?  I like to fab and change things around, and I am an OK welder, so I do not think this will be a big deal.  I would like to hear from some people who have done things like this and see if there is something I should look out for before I just jump in.

I would LOVE to see pictures of how other people have bade hardbag brackets.  I know the harley bags have a "channel" in them for a support bar to go underneath so I will try and make something to utilize it.

Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the tip.  I spent the better part of 3 hours searching last night but I never did find that thread tickedoff
It is all about how you word the search, and I guess I didn't use HD in my search....only harley uglystupid2

That info will help and I will contact those members and see if I can get some pictures.

Thanks again!

I found out some more info about the bike in the thread you mentioned. (this is the thread http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,24810.0.html )
It's owner is EOD Moe
More info can be read in a thread here.
http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,8667.0.html
and here
http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,4068.0.html

Most of these threads are dealing with fitting a street glide fairing on a valk, but there is some mention of the saddlebags he used.
