I have a 99 Std with 60,000 miles and the rear carbs are starting to leak at the intake when setting. I have since starting sutting off fuel and running all fuel out of carbs. I know I will need to kit them, just wondering best place to get kits and should I rejet and also desmog?

I would desmog. Less stuff on the engine. From where are the carbs leaking?

Do you mean at the base of the intake runner? If so you don't need carb work. Under the steel runners is an O ring. Our "Shop Talk" page has info for you. The O ring is a #123 and you should buy Viton material. One replace and that will be a forever fix.

You can get your carb rebuild kits from Red eye

get your float valves from Amazon

Yes, Sandy the fuel shows up at the base of the intake runner. I looked at the Shoptalk section and did not fine anything about the runners?

Don't touch your carbs until you replace the intake runner O rings. The redeyetech website sells the O rings . If you have a local hydraulic supply, ask for the #123 in viton. Very easy to change.

Dear Friend

Seconding what other member said, check the photos on this thread:

If it looks similar, those are really good news: you can stop the leak by replacing the intake o-rings. I replaced mine about 3K miles ago and no leaks ever since.

It is a 2 hours job and the o-rings cost about 15 bucks.

Note:  In the future, especially if rebuilding carbs,  I think it's good advice to do one thing at a time. (easier to retrace steps if something not running correctly).
Carb work and desmog may be problematic if you encounter a problem upon reassembly and start-up.
I know it's "tempting" to desmog while everything is apart..

Ok thanks everyone. I will get right on replacing the O rings. Just another question on this, is it normal for that much fuel get in the runners while setting. Thank again.
