A few drips of water reduced the heat.

I've been out west here, Colorado, and loving all the Craft beers. Beats the hell
out of the pond swill of central Illinois. Still amazed at all the Zombies buying into
the ad campaigns of Budlite, ect....   they must ride Hardleys.....
IPA's are the majority round here. I prefer a good Dunkel or Lager myself.
Ya gotta watch yerself, some of these local Porters, ect, can go
7 - 8 or even 9%, a real kick in the ass. yea, I venture into themswerds
quite often BUT my old school, never-run-out-of everyday is the Session Lager from the Northwest....

for the record. was once at a rally in Minisoda and a guy was mixing that LAPHROAIG  with
Mountain Dew and calling it a poormans Martini....   really pretty good!

PASSOVER

No beer or scotch

Slivovitz   Its plum brandy 100+ proof usually from Croatia or one of the Yugoslavian republics

Think moonshine with a kick !

I'm having a 12 year old Chivas Regal: https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/448/chivas-regal-12-year-old
I'm just learning to drink whisky. I saw in a few movies a scene that after a few heroic actions the hero comes home, pours himself a nice whisky and relax. I thought, that's what I want too, a drink and relaxing... So now every saturday night I get myself one glass of whisky. That's enough. I like the Chivas Regal, but I'm still in the proces of discovering different tastes. So after the Chivas Regal I'll try a 15 year old Dalwhinnie https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/dalwhinnie-15-year-old-whisky/

I recently tried the Jameson Black Barrel. Was rated highly on a whiskey review so I decided to try it. Very smooth, I prefer it with a wee bit of water to soften it a bit.  cooldude cooldude

Some time ago a riding friend from Michigan shared his "Apple Pie" recipe with me. He had been bringing several Qt.s to all the gathrings and rallys for years.  The problem was it was for a 3 or 4 gallon batch. Yesterday I finally broke it down to a 3 Qt. recipe and made my first batch....

I am officially an Apple Pie fan! good crap!!

Ah Man ! You guys are making me so envious.  I still can't taste much of anything, but, that means I'm saving money. Heck, I'm drinking Coors Light and don't know the difference.

That said, still, mixing LAPHROAIG with Mountain Dew should be a capital punishment offense !

After doing way more wrenching on my Valk than I like doing, and FINALLY getting a mysterious whistle eliminated, I'll definitely be having something good tonight, not sure what... Might crack into the Dalmore King Alexader III...

...or might just have some Cardhu... or Ardbeg.... or.... we'll see once mommy's home and I'm off kid watching duty...

Oh yeah, I like the Monkey Shoulder too, had that a few times, quite nice stuff and reasonably priced as well!

It is hotter than Hell down here and humid as well. Been busting my ass outside lately so relaxing out there at the end of the day with a Bacardi Dark, Coke, and a squeeze of lime. Pretty simple.

If you like good vodka check ou Reyna from Iceland, makes grey goose taste like rubbing alcohol! Kinda unreal how smooth it is and how it has zero smell, like nothing.

Whiskey Drinkers should try Wayne gretzky #99 wine casked rye whiskey. Aged 12 years in oak wine barrels. Smooth with a slight brandy finish from the barrels, very good neat or on the rocks.

Lesa bought some Meyers Lemons the other day.
Tonight she made lemonade from them.......Lordy they make the best lemonade!

Not to worry I have plenty of sipping rums and bourbons.

I'd like to post a link to "Fortify". A blended Canadian Whisky.

I was reading some links about it earlier but now when I do a search I get nuttin.

i even sent myself an email to remind me. So I have the spelling correct but .....

I've searched for Fortify Whisky

I've searched for Foretify Whiskey

I've searched for blended Fortify Whisky / Fortify WhIskey

I've searched for Canadian Fortify Whisky / Fortify Whiskey

Can I assume I entered a warp in space and time and experienced something that isn't corporeal?

Or are my Google super powers f'ed up beyond all reasoning.

I've heard of fortified wine, but not fortified whiskey.

I know you were looking for a brand name of Fortify whiskey.

I looked and didn't find such a brand name either.  What I discovered was a page talking about 2d stage aging of whiskey in wine barrels (including fortified wine barrels).

https://blog.distiller.com/whiskey-finished-fortified-wine/

Whatever that does to the whiskey flavor (I dunno), but I leaned long ago that drinking wine and whiskey in the same evening (in any quantity) is a pretty bad idea.  It never tastes as good coming up as it did going down.
