Re installing the trunk on my I/s.

She's got the cb option.

Can't find anything on the OEM parts web sites pertaining to a cb.

Anyone know a source for the OEM cb antenna?  Can I use a radio one?

Also.

On this fishe, it shows 4 /#16(nuts) but only 2 #17(washers).  Does anything else go on the front stud?  The stud is to long for the nut to close down.

Can't use the radio antenna. Some use a generic antenna but it has to be tuned for a CB.

Bill, I found this on Amazon. But there is no pic, so I can't tell if it's correct.

Also, some guys use their radio antenna with a splitter to the CB. I'm not sure how good the reception is though.

You use the GL1200 CB mount. I have one, waiting on installing it. If you can get the Valkyrie OEM, then use that.

As for mounting, go to Dag's site, manual DL and get the CB installation information.

I'll try to find more, and edit my post.

I bought a GW GL1500 CB ant, but will try this.

Here are the posts I found.

Hey Gordon, thanks for the response.

I have what looks like a GL1200 antenna that came with the bike, but like most things the PO did, it's messed up and won't attach correctly.

I've got the OEM Valk mount, but need a new antenna.

Reading the post by BonS and Kingbee, it looks like I'll need to modify a new/used GL1200 one.

Do you know what needs to be done?

Not yet. So much to do, and no time to do it. I'm hoping my June I'll have the CB working. Will get pictures for a post of what I'll do.

I figure the new ant I have for a GW will be used on the mount I bought for a GL1200. Looks like it wont fit on the mount, so will have to cut the back end out of it, so it will be a piece of an angle bracket.

The passenger H.O.F. Strap goes on the front one. If it's missing, replace with a suitable washer or two.
