I like snow that falls in pretty flurries but melts away when it hits the ground. Sure, I would have liked some snow cream, however the need for clear roads trumps my taste buds. The local weather folk were in a tizzy of on-the-spot reports that showed clear roads this morning. Luckily, my non-televised route looked good too.

It was chilly but safe this morning.

I didn't go to campus and teach yesterday, but instead went to a conference in upstate SC and presented at a conference. It was work related and I rode. It was a nice change up to my daily routine. I slept in. I ate a big breakfast. I rode down after rush hour. I ate more when when I arrived at the conference. I learned. I ate again. I taught. I grabbed some water. I rode home in 70+ degree weather. It was a nice day.

I was at York Tech yesterday off of Dave Lyle Blvd. Lunch was free and the weather was great. It was  a good day to ride.

For the last year or so, where I work had no place safe and secure to park a motorcycle, so no riding to work for me. Last week we moved into a very secure, locked yard to park our big rigs and our personal vehicles, so now its back to riding to work. I can't wait, because most weeks the only time I have to ride is back and forth to work. I have a question for the group here though, I have three bikes I need to rotate, a '91 GoldWing, a '98 KLR 650, and  my '97 Valkyrie, so can I post here when I ride to work even when I don't ride the Valkyrie, or is this a Valkyrie only thread? Don't want to break any rules. I'll wait to hear an answer before I post. I should be riding back and forth on my 70 mile  round trip commute by next week.

Rode to work and then home yesterday, temps were in the thirties, wasn't bad but pretty gusty so, it wasn't the most enjoyable ride I've had lately.  Regardless, had big plans to ride Monday and Tuesday, my normal days off.  Woke up this morning and there's 4 inches of frigg'n snow on the ground.  Don't mind the cold so much but, I don't ride on snow or ice.    Well, tomorrow is suppose to be in the sixties, will give it another shot tomorrow.

Since I is retarded, that's what my youngest grandson says, I don't ride to work, but I do get in a few miles every once in awhile.

3/5/2012, I had a Dr's appointment so I rode to his office and the long way home.   Only got in 30 miles in on the Chevy.     Damn I love that degree tree I got from Daryl's store.

Today it is 66* and it isn't even noon yet.

Guess I'll go stretch the Chevy's legs a little bit more  today.

See ya later.     cooldude cooldude cooldude cooldude police

I ride the 10 blocks to work most mornings. Yesterday, I had to run over to our bureau in New Boston, TX. (About 22 miles.) Sun was shining, temp about 60°. Doing about 55 down hwy 82 with the wind and sun in my face almost put me to sleep.

Jimmyt, it is not the HP I'm worried about, it is the Torque this big heifer has now with the NASCAR muffler on it.

All 4" except for the 3" muffler.

The muffler came out of the Heinrick Motors Race car portion of the company.

I'm back at work this week and back to riding the Valk of course.

Weathermen and newscasters regard I-40 as a magic barrier in NC.  To hear them talk weather either happens north or south of the road. Because of the topography and elevation it is easy for people 50 miles south to think that is true. People living within sight of the road may see it differently, but mileage does vary. Monday 2 inches of snow was falling north of I-40. Weathermen said south was pretty, sunny, and only a light breeze.

Living south of 40, I didn't see a reason why I shouldn't be able to ride.

Facebok messages reported snowfall in the town I was leaving and the town I was headed to, but that seemed unlikely since my thermometer read 37 degrees. Off to work I went. Something was falling but I think it was a light rain. It's hard to tell on warm asphalt.

On the way home, the cool morning ride was a distant memory, until I realized the road was flecked with large white spots for miles. The morning discussion of snow rushed to mind. Turns out it was a box of packing peanuts that had blown off of a truck, but it made me slow down a bit.

Otherwise it was a great way to start the week.

Tuesday is a similarly pretty day thus far.

Commute to ride, ride to commute.

Had basically the same weather here the last couple days.  Today, I switched to the mesh.  Put in the liner for the ride to work, will pull it for the ride home.  55 on the way in.  Not bad for NW Missouri.

Rode in to work today, for first time..... ever... 85 and 285 in ATL, 37 miles door to door. Everyone in the office thought I was nuts, when I walked in carrying my helmet (and I questioned it myself about 1/2 way in  uglystupid2 ), but people in the parking lot walking up asking what it is, and people in the office wanting to go down to look at it - makes it all worth it  cooldude
I did learn, after a ride like that, in ATL rush hour traffic, you no longer require coffee Wink

Shucks, I can't legally post in this one, I no workie anymore.

I do get out once in awhile, like yesterday, it was 82 degrees, and it set a record for this date.

I kind of let the Chevy get away from me for a minute.   Then I backed off, pretty hard, and thank God for that, as I topped the hill on the speed limit, on the other side was a radar car.

I waved as I went by.

Rode to work yesterday, March 14th.  That is a earliest I have ever ridden to work, temps high 70's, very unusual for March in Northern Illinois.

Ride home temps in the low 80's...  You know what that means come this summer.....
