WOOOOHOOOO! 3 for 3 this week. Weatherman says rain is on the way this afternoon, but only 30% chance. I'll roll them dice any day.

They lied! It was 50 & wet both ways! But a wet day on the Valk beats a dry one in the car any time. Plus it gave me a chance to wipe everything down in the garage, so now the trike will look fabulous for this extended weekend. Have a great Thanksgiving, already started with the wild berry pie this evening. I'm thankful for my New England friends, and for those of you I've met, and for those I hope to meet this coming year.

I was 3 for 3 last week. But so far this week, I'm 0 for 1...and the rest of the week isn't looking much better. I might get to ride tomorrow...but they are calling for rain most of the week and highs below freezing here by the end of the week.

It was threatening rain this morning and mid-day when I was wandering around, but I stayed dry. It rained while I was inside tonight, but by the time I took the long way home it was not raining. I needed a good commute to work and a little wander time today. It felt good.

Pretty much the same thing here, made it in to work before the rain hit, poured all day, got suited up to ride home, and I didn't even have to wipe my windshield after the initial wipe off. Tomorrow looks cold & clear, can't wait!

Well, it's 34* outside, but the sun is shining. So I rode to work today on 2 wheels. But like I said yesterday, the rest of the week ain't lookin' so good. Supposed to warm up to the low 50's tomorrow and Thursday, but 70% chance of rain both days. Then the bottom is supposed to drop out Friday with highs in the low to mid 30's.

It was mid-30s this morning and threatening to rain and I rode anyway.
They're expecting an inch of rain sometime today, so we'll see how this turns out. The temp wasn't that bad. I'll need to switch to a glove with longer cuffs for the rest of the week. The damp roads weren't frosty which is nice. I slowed down on the bridges just incase. One was slightly frosty but not really icy. It wasn't a bad ride in.
We'll see how the rest of today turns out. I'm wearing a nice outfit, and about to walk over to HR to file a job application for a newly opened position. Glad my boots look nice today. I'm also glad I'm not walking around wet.
Commute to ride, ride to commute.

I was cold this morning...in the 20's. But I rode the bike to work anyways. They are calling for rain this evening, though...I just hope "evening" starts after about 5:30. Edit...I just looked at weather.com and they are saying 100% chance of rain at 2pm. I know it gets dark earlier this time of year...but I never would have guessed evening started at 2pm!

So my wife was getting out of the shower as I was getting my boots on. She asked if I had heard the high temperature for the day, because she knows I have the news on while I work in the morning. I told her I didn't. She sounded shocked as she asked me why not. Well, I was focused on the declaration of "unsafe driving conditions for much of the viewing area," "100% chance of rain," "high winds expected," "flash flood warnings in effect all day," and the other things that they were telling me. At that point, I already knew that I was going to ride, and that I was going to need a jacket, so why did I need to worry about the temperature?
As it turns out, 100% chance of rain must be easy to detect. It had rained a warm rain all night, and kept doing so as I rode to work. I had to dry off the top of the gas tank before I filled up at the station. My pants were damp, and my jacket had started leaking before I made it to campus. All in all not a bad ride in. It has been raining all day so far. The trees have stopped dancing, so I might brave a lunch ride and head toward the next campus, but I will get wet.
I'll plan on getting to the next job early so that I can have time to dry out before I actually have to start working.
COmmute to work, and work to commute (and be glad that I have a job even when I'm wet).

Well, it was sprinkling lightly when I ran home for lunch. Not enough to warrant putting on the rain gear or anything. So I had my lunch and came back to work in the Jeep.

Rode yesterday in the 40's, but had to finish the leaf gathering last night, so no post. It was 34 this morning, used the 'lectrics for the first time. Rain & almost 60 supposedly for tomorrow. Think I'll give it a shot...

Before I left work last night I called my wife. It had been miserable all day. She worries but knows she doesn't want to stop me from riding because I get unbearable. I have two options on how to get home. My wife cautioned me not to take the shorter path through the low fields and straight aways because the puddles were standing and muck was running across the road in waves. She suggested I take the longer curvier path...okay. I like it when I can make her happy. The rain had stopped and the weather was clear. I took the longer path. This morning I was finding some dry gloves (the ones from yesterday didn't dry out last night). I was preparing for a miserable ride today with rain and wind...when the weatherperson said something odd. 68 degrees and sunny skies for most of the day? December what? okay. So I grabbed some dry gloves, was thankful my boots were dry, and hopped on the bike. Not a bad ride in this morning. Clear skies. So far today the skies are getting bluer and brighter. This is going to be a fun day to run around from campus to campus. It makes this 12 hour day a little easier to bear.

58 degrees and raining when I looked out the door, got the leathers & rain gear on, walked outside to blue sky & high winds, took off the rain gear & rode to work. Took a walk at lunchtime in my shirtsleeves, and took a leisurely ride home enjoying all the Christmas extravaganzas. Actually put my green LEDs on in a couple of places to boost the spirit a little. Got to set up that Christmas playlist soon. Tomorrow will be cool and crisp, hope to be that, also...

It is a beautiful day. It is bright but the sun doesn't exactly appear to be coming from anywhere particular, it is just glowing behind the clouds, which means it wasn't in my eyes at all on the ride in.
It's 36 degrees. They're calling for rain tomorrow. I'm not going anywhere tomorrow, so why not. This is thus far a beautiful day to be at work. I'm wrapping up the semester today on a light nervous-student day. I'll spend most of today trapped in a library working on a computer, and then the afternoon in a meeting, but eventually I'll get to ride home and that should be nice.
Not a bad day at all.
Commute to ride, ride to commute.

I didn't teach my morning classes this morning, so my day did not start until late afternoon. Around 3:00 I went to campus, then went out for a bite to eat. I went back to work eventually. I babysat an exam for a while. Then I came home. My wife wasn't here, so I didn't take the shortest way home. I figured I'd still beat her home, and I did.
Tonight was a warm clear night. I think it is going to rain for at least part of this week, so I enjoyed the ride while I could. This is going to be an odd long week, so I might as enjoy the commute.

Yesterday (Monday), it was cold and raining in the morning...so I took the Jeep. But this morning, it was just cold. Supposed to hit 40 later today...so I rode the Valk. They are calling for rain/snow/ice tonight into tomorrow, though. There is actually a winter storm warning for all of the counties just east of here. So the rest of the week ain't lookin' too good. Maybe Friday, I'll get to ride again. But they are only calling for highs in the mid 20's...so maybe not.

Too much ice around yesterday morning to ride, but it was 31 & dry when I left home today, used the electrics. 40 on the way home, no electrics needed. More snow in the morning, but it's supposed to change to rain. Thursday & Friday may be ridable...

Yesterday morning on the way to work wasn't bad. Then it started raining harder and harder. By the time I went from the afternoon job to the evening job at 5:00 it was already as dark as night and pouring rain. The ride home at 8:00 last night was even darker and the rain was coming down in thick sheets. It was a miserable ride home.
I curled up with a book and some dry clothes on the couch and relaxed listening to the rain. It sounds better than it feels sometimes.
This morning the rain is still coming down in buckets, luckily I think it stayed to warm for any of it to freeze on the road, so it will be wet, but should be okay to ride. Luckily I don't have to go anywhere until the sun comes up this morning.

Rode this morning 60 degrees and so foggy and wet it was like riding in the rain and a cloud. This afternoon will be sweeet though. Suppose to be 31 in the morning and I'm putting up more Christmas lights.

No Valk for me today. It's 24 degrees out there and falling with snow showers. With all of the wind we had yesterday, there is debris all over the roads (including a maple tree in my dad's swimming pool). And if that weren't enough, all the rain we had yesterday has frozen all over the place, so it's a bit slippy out. I couldn't see the point in risking it.

I came in to work at 6:00 this morning to get a jump on the day. That put me on the road around 5:30. It was wonderful. Traffic was almost non-existent. The sky was dark with patches of light behind the rolling clouds. The roads were mostly dry, and I wasn't wearing gloves, so it must have been warm already.
It is a nice change from the storms of a few days ago but it won't last. I plan on enjoying it while I can.

WOOHOO! finally a ride to work. It was 5 this morning but the streets were dry so ride on baby. I'm gonna need to remove those darn chrome Kury grips if I ride the Valk in this cold stuff. They suck the heat right out of the Gerbing gloves.
