Q? What Q? Where? When?  Smiley

Like Jabba and Steve said - September 24th, throwing a barbeque, for riders of all sorts, in Oxford, IN, 20 miles NNW of Lafayette. Only posted to the VRCC, but any riders are welcome, as long as I get a pretty close head count, by September 17th, at the VERY LATEST, but hoping to have RSVP's by the 10th. I will be posting a big "final" notice in the General forum, in the next few days. (see following quote)

They gonna have FOOD there?!?!  Shocked

Yeah, buddy, gonna have food! All you can eat pork chops, boiguhs, brats, doggies, potato salad, slaw, chips, hopefully corn, if I get some before it "disappears", pop and tea. BYOB, if you want different "adult beverages", and let me know if you have special dietary "needs", and I'll accommodate. I am asking a paltry $5 "donation" to defray food a little, but it's not important...

They gonna have FOOD there?!?!  Shocked

Hey, this is for Hoosiers only.  Wink

That's not true!! ANY and ALL are welcome! (I know you're kidding, fudgie..) So far I think we have folks coming from Indiana, Illinois, maybe Ohio, and I think Michigan. That guy from Hawaii said he didn't think he'd make it this year...

I'll be putting in the horseshoe pit this weekend, and hope to make it a great time for all!

Steve - I know of a nice "back way in", coming up 231, when you hit 28, instead of 55. A little more scenic, and fun to get lost on. I'll see if I can coax mapquest into coughing it up, and send it your way....

roger after you and I talked the other day I sat down on streets and trips and look at the map.  First choice is taking 231 up to 28 the other is taking 39 and some other back roads to wind up on 28 or doing the 55 thing.

Great, Doc! I've heard a lot about you, all good, of course, and looking forward to meeting you, also. I certainly hope you will make it!

Yes, the address will be out this week - I'll be starting a whole new thread, with hopefully all the committed, and possibly coming listed, as well as address, etc. Plan to do it, by Tuesday.

For some reason, my notifications weren't working, then Willow worked on it, had them back for a day, and now, they ain't working again! Exasperating, at best. I do have the threads bookmarked, and will be checking them all, more often.

That sounds like a reasonable reason for not coming! I like his stuff for the most part. Years ago (38 to be exact!!), I listened to a gent, named Severin Browne, and just found out about a week ago, that he is Jackson's brother! I still drag his records (that's VINYL, folks!!) out, and play them once in a while.

Enjoy the concert!!!

I've been busy - started last night, fairly late, and just getting ready to sink the posts into concrete-filled buckets, and I should be tossing shoes, tomorrow sometime!! All ready for the 24th, sure glad whoever it was, said go "Old School"!! Worked last night up until 10:30 pm, when I had to quit, since I didn't want to keep anyone awake.

I'm also looking at maybe some "live" entertainment!! Local band played together for 12 years, then took a 10 year hiatus, and got back together here recently. They are currently borrowing my lights, from my old DJ/Karaoke days, and might be able to coax them into an afternoon of music!

Well, since you said it wasn't limited to just Indiana, thinking I might just motor up there.  Love Brats and the price is right.  I've got another friend that just got his Valk about two months ago, gonna see if he's interested.  Will let you know for sure by your deadline.

Ron - This thing was started by YoungPup, early August, under the heading "Indiana. Illinois? Michigan? Ohio?" in THIS thread: Indiana. Illinois? Michigan? Ohio?

I'm pretty confident, that it wasn't limited to any states, just those were the close ones YoungPup thought up.

I then took the ball, and decided I'd sure like to flood this little country town, with a bunch of Valks, and do what I like to do 2nd best, cook out! So, I volunteered to have it here, in Oxford. In the meantime, other things came up, that it doesn't look like YoungPup will be able to attend.

A new thread (this one) was started by Fudgie, helping to keep the Indiana guys abreast of things, but also to keep the cook-out in the forefront. I'm sure that the "rib" by Fudgie, was totally and unquestionably, kidding about non-Indiana folks not invited, when Motor City (Detroit, I'm guessing) mentioned "They gonna have FOOD there?!?!"

Since it has pretty much become mine, any and ALL are welcome! Going to be good food, and good time!! If it matters, we'll ALL be Hoosiers, on September 24th!

Also, it's not limited in ANY WAY, to Valk riders, as any and all friends are welcome, regardless of what they ride. My good friend rides an ST1300, and he's coming.

I will be posting a new thread, with ALL the details and info, in the next few days, that will serve as both an "official" invite, as well as a sign-up, to get a pretty good head-count. By then, everyone should be over Labor Day!

Location is going to be 205 East Smith St., Oxford, IN. It's pretty simple to find, and mapquest or GPS will give you directions. It will be in the invite, as well.

Hope you can make it! I've hung a dead chicken upside-down, outside, and buried three hot dogs in a triangle, a foot down, to the weather gods, for great weather that weekend....

Wish I could. My inlaws moved their closing date for their house, which moved their moving date to the 24th.  They are going to be moving crap in the week leading up to the 24th, so its supposed to be just furniture, so I'm praying that i can get away to hit 65 and drop the hammer to atleast be able to meet some of ya'll before the cookout ends. I probably can't make this one, but would love to.  It seems like I may have found a group that's not too far away.  I'm just getting comfortable behind the bike for the next few days.  I made a slight jump in engine size from my Suzuki GZ250 to the Honda Valkyrie.  It's a bit more weight that I'm use to dealing with, but practice will take care of that.  Looking forward to meeting some of you and I'll try to make another event.  My son's soccer games are shooting a hole in the Southern Indiana Fall Ride.  I asked him today if he wants me to ride or come to his soccer game.  He picked ride of course, but he probably thinks that he was going to come along.

You're more than welcome to come, if you get a wild hair...there's another "official" thread with all the info. It's just a hop, skip and jump, on the Valk.
