According to Cycle World:  Two windscreens (one short, one tall), saddlebags, LED foglights, a backrest, a rear carrier rack and a leather touring bag highlight a wide range of accessories.

I find it interesting and might consider it depending on windshield and luggage options. I also find it very interesting how close it looks to the GL1800 naked bike one of our members created 4 or more years ago.

Dave, are you referring to the Blue one we saw at Doc's CBR?

He had her all stripped down and then the next year he had it finished.

Oh, also was that the year you parked in the walkway under the stairs.

I never did figure how you got that backed in there and then got off of it.

LOL.   :cooldude:    :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

The similarities between the new Valk and the F6B is the same as it's differences. Shield, bags, backrest and bling we are used to putting on our bikes.

To get a totally fair appraisal, I asked the Lady of The House what she thought of the two bikes.

Of the new Valk - ''I couldn't sit on that rear seat for more than 10 minutes, let alone for 300 miles. It looks  way too front heavy as well. Does not look either comfortable or practical''.

Of the F6B - ''I prefer the look of the F6B to the Valk, but the F6B looks like it's trying to be something but it doen't know what. It's neither a tourer or a cruiser''.

''Let me put it another way, you're not going to trade in our Standard for either one of those BatMan bikes''.  :uglystupid2:

And there ended the conversation.
I love that woman ...   :-*

Chippy01, that lady has a good eye, she has to be a KEEPER.

I asked mine the same thing, and da sheet hit da fan.

She told me the Valkyrie trike was our Daughter's and the Chevy Trike was our Son's after I start pushing up daisies.    Now ya know where I stand and who wears the panties in this house now.    I wore them when I was working, but those days are over for this old 81 year old fart.    He doesn't have the income he had back in the day, now is about $5,000 less a month.   But I survive pretty good on my retirement pensions.

Not sure if I skipped over or not but a thought that ran through my mind after hearing of the new valkyrie...  What does this do to the value/popularity/accessory prices for our ten+ year old valks?  Do you think the value drops or the popularity increases due to the name back out in circulation and then the value of accessories or do they bring back some of the options for our older bike with possible popularity....

Just something I was thinking... Please share your thoughts on this I am curious.  I hope this isn't off topic.. If so delete it and I'll make a separate post.

Stude31  :cooldude:

Oh, I'm in on 1 and 3 but I do like the f6b a little more due to the package but would have to ride the two to make a determination.   AND I would have to sell one or both (tour and interstate) to swing the purchase.

Scoop171

Undecided right now on the look? I've seen some great looking custom Valkyries and Honda's materialization of the new Valkyrie is good news. I'm looking forward to see how this plays out.
I voted #3.

I have enough "bar hoppers" I don't need to buy another one. I would be interested in a new touring bike, bags and fairing, comfort.

Thanks Preston. I like the looks. I really like the key switch up top.  I do hope they have upgraded the odometer to have 2-trip settings.

I would like to see the red one. My wife says she wants the black one. Im gonna have to test that sucker out when they release them.

Yep, she wants a black one. Black bike that is  ;D

Three things, price, performance and sound. With the Vikings on my Interstate it has a nice lopey idle and a great growl when I get on it. I'll reserve judgment until I get to test ride one..

This article says there will be bags available.

I'm sure even Givi is in the design stage right now. I think I would like the idea of quick removable hard bags that will unlock from the bike to carry inside with you on a trip. (even a top case) I would ride it in it's standard look around town.

Moonshot_1

I am partial to the old style. Our Valks are just bad ass looking bikes.
This new Valkyrie isn't anywhere near as intimidating looking as the older ones.

But, perhaps, there will be an option package in the future where there is less plastic and more chrome.

The new Valk is still an impressive bike by today's standards.

I have had three Valkyries, two standards and one Interstate. For me I like the Interstate the best for the kind of riding I do. I love the Chrome and that's what makes the bike, well plus the power, the feel, and the smiles. The new Valkyrie has its own look and I am sure people will fall in love with it just like they did with the old ones. I do wish they had taken the time to talk and listen to all the Valkyrie owners and then built the bike. That would have been one Bad Ass Valkyrie.
I just wanna Ride............:)  And hang out with all the cool Kids riding Motorcycles.

Gavin_Sons

My 01 IS will not be replaced by this bike but I like the idea of having a modern 1800 valkyrie and the classic sitting side by side in the garage. I like t birds idea of removable hard bags.  :cooldude:

Looks like the F6B without the saddlebags.  Unexciting.  Disappointing.  Chrome?  I waited for this?  Doesn't look anything like the beautiful monster I was hoping for.  Is this aimed at the cruiser community, or some other group of guys?

I'm surprised Honda waited so long between announcements:  "Now presenting the new F6B..." Followed 6 months later by, "Now presenting the new F6B's almost identical twin... the new and degenerated valkyrie."  Blah.

Nothing like the class our Valks have.  We'll see what the aftermarket can do to bring out some bling.

T-Bird

I could just see this black with some carbon fiber accents to cover some Tupperware parts and chrome valve covers and wheels

Gavin_Sons

It has a streetfighter looking front end. Adds to the badassness, sheild, fog lights and hard bags will top this puppy off.

Bert AKA,Valkaholic

I Think the New Valkyrie would look Great sitting next to the Three  Valkyrie's we already own. I may have to wait a while though, after I save Enough money to buy a F6B,I may consider buying a New Valkyrie.
I definitely am Curious as to what it Looks like with a Windshield and Bags on it.

Life Is A Highway, I Wanna Ride It All Night Long !

I am agreeing with others that this is pretty much the Goldwing "Standard", the F6B is the Goldwing "Tourer" and the Goldwing itself is the "Interstate". I really, really like the look of it, but it's definitely not a touring machine. This would be an around town-type bike IMO... I am a touring bike kinda guy though.

Surely one of the tec-no savvy members of this site has the ability to photo shop a picture of one of our beautiful Phat Gurls next to the new version. I would like to see that. I could be wrong but I think the new one would pale in just raw Bad Ass looks in a side by side comparison. I voted option 3

YoungPUP

I'm interested, but when I showed this to the one who controls the check book her reaction was comparable to what you get when you manage to sneak up and scare the cat.   So while I voted #1  I do believe that I'll just sit back and wait for the rest of you to start selling off your I/s's  and then take my pick of the litter.  We all know the dealer won't give anyone crap for at newest a 10 year old bike.

+1 for me! I've been riding with a trunk, hard bags, and a decent fairing for so long that I cringe at the thought of them being missing. I'll need to see what the two variations of windshields, and the saddlebags look like and how they function before I can even think of plunking down any money for this newcomer. :-\

I am glad to see that the Valkyrie name is still thought of by Honda as being synonemous with "Power Cruiser". To answer Stude, I think it will help keep our Valks relevant and can't hurt value. :cooldude:

I'll keep my IS until I wear it out or I'm in "The Home", and then I'll find a red hot granny and get a F6B.

Not very exciting......Just a stripped down OldWing.....not nearly enough chrome....front fender is fugly.....seat looks like it wouldn't be very comfortable.....seems like they just took the Wing and started taking stuff off.....I wish they had of increased the CC's, but I guess they have they GW engine nailed down....single sided swing arm is nice.....just not very different from the GW and F6B...... :(

I believe it has a gas tank in the right place and the whole subframe where the back fender
and stuff is has been changed out... I'm betting that in real life it will seem a lot different from
the Goldwing and F6B...

I like it.  I love the idea of 120+ HP, and fuel injection.

Seats... I'd pony up for a Russell right out of the gate...

What I don't like about my IS, and I wouldn't like about the GW and F6B is the fairing.  I like to ride naked MOST of the time... with the option of adding a shield for a long trip.  I'd like to add a trunk to my standard... sell the IS, and get the new one.  There... That's what I want.

I might go order a new blue Valk right now.   :2funny: :2funny:

Stoppin by to see what ya all think of this new valk, on the fence here, it's a little to humped up in the front with that 6 gallon tank and those radiator cowls but no matter what it looks like I'm sure it's fast!
I've owned all the flat 6's, 98 valk std, 04 rune, 02 GW now riding a 13 F6B, by far the F6B is the best handling of the flat 6's I've had, at both low and high speeds.
It does good to see the vrcc is alive and well.

Peace out, Hogslayer (member#747)

I travel so would need to be able to replace my I/S. With hard bags/truck. To do that it would be the Goldwing. I'll be keeping my I/S.

Hey Jabba my good friend, where did you find the 120HP figure?

I thought I read in the Cycle World Rag it was like 101 hp and 120 torque.

I had a hard time liking the Goldwing F6B/C whatever its called  :-\  when I first saw it.
After seeing the new Valk  :( ...
I now all of a sudden really like the F6 stripped GoldWing cruiser  ???
Nothing like the original Valk  :o  A classic stand alone design that you never get tired of looking at. A machine whose DNA didn't morph from the shadows of any other breed, other than its older cousin the GW Standard.
Wish I still had my `99  :coolsmiley:
