So is there a bit of a disconnect here? It seems some folks are all worked up and banging the drum that people (and states) have an absolute right to display the flag of the losing side of the War between the States and yet those same people are all worked up and angry that some retailers have chosen to not sell items containing that flag? Doesn't freedom, by definition, go both ways?

As far as retailers, I could care less what MERCHANDISE they sell or don't sell but when they try to sell the idea that a symbol of Southern culture is racist. They are be hypocritical if they sell white sheets. Both pieces of cloth can be used for less than honorable causes. The real rub is the implication that if we fly the flag of Southern Heritage, we are racist. One thing worse than being racist is being labeled racist when you're not. They are trying to connect everyone flying the flag to the killing of 9 innocent Americans. The left depends on the idiots to carry out their agenda, and I'll have to hand it to them. They out number us already and seems they have found a new goldmine of useful idiots in the GOP politicians. There is a disconnect here and it has nothing to do with a flag or the civil war. What it is about is the democratic party consistently losing state and national elections in the southern part of the country. With the media as their army, they seek to cleanse southern culture in hopes of gaining absolute power over this country to destroy it. The spineless politicians in the republican party is going to help them. By the way if one cares to study civil war history instead just believing what is popular, you'll know that the flag referred to at the Confederate soldiers memorial is NOT THE STARS & BARS. |

Freedom does indeed, go both ways. But the freedom to choose doesn't mean the choice should be free of consequences or critique. The issue with the retailers is the hypocrisy of it all. Take the Stars and Bars off the shelves but sell swastikas and Nazi related merchandise. Take games that have the Stars and Bars featured in some way and make them unavailable while selling games that feature the killing of Law Enforcement. Hope this country straightens out soon. The next Presidential election will be an interesting one as it will reflect the country's view of ourselves as a nation. I hope it doesn't confirm us as bat crap crazy. |

A good portion of conservative voters have been successfully alienated from the right by this knee jerk movement. The main reason Romney lost the last election, is because conservatives did not show up to vote. The right does not need the black vote, Hispanic vote, or the undecided vote to win.
