You've flown enough times to Florida in your first 8 weeks. Give it a break.
I voted for him because the alternative was not even close to a choice.

I really think the only reason he goes is so Robert can get pics of the plane and estate.

Probably the only really secure place he can do business.

It's gonna take a lot more than the mediocre shuffling of the deck chairs on the Titanic that he's done so far to correct the course of destruction the last 24 years have set us on (More so the last 8, but Obama's not alone in this...) Hopefully he has the cajones to make the hard changes that need to be made to have a real and lasting difference to save civilization.

You're absolutely right. For all the big talk before the election about how he was going to be a presidential machine, I ain't seeing it... Between his weekly trips to Florida and the Mrs staying in New York, the Secret Service is being stretched very thin. And the cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

President Trump was never my first choice, having said that, I do approve of the majority of moves he's trying to make. IMHO, he needs a few things, a filter, some self discipline in reference to his twitter messages and less BS from the Dem leadership. In that the Republicans control both the House and the Senate, I have to assume all the angst the Dem leadership is raising is meant to inspire and incite their side for the mid-term elections. Obviously, the Republicans in office don't want President Trump and his attempts to change things to cause too much uproar and opposition for the mid-terms also in fear they might be thrown out. All I can say is to repeat what President Obama said to Congress at some point, (as close as I can remember it) "We have the Votes, do it."

How about a running total of the costs of the Obama's trips compared to Trumps. Let's see how it looks after a longer period of time. Don't forget to subtract the salary and benefits which he and some of his staff aren't taking. Should we ask Trump to punch a time card? If so, let's retro that to Obama. Guess I just don't get the peeing contest mentality here. The election is over. Let it run. If, in four years, most people think he's done a decent job, he'll get reelected. If not, then not.

Lol.....whatever... I mirror other comments on the thread, and you still find a way to take a jab. And I'll be very happy to check the tab after 'a longer period of time'. He's been there less than eight weeks, do the math. And a billionaire not taking a 400K salary? Couch change.......but it sounds good, I guess.

When you are used to having money and a place to stay its hard not to want to be in Florida compared to the swamp of Washington. I would want to be in a comfortable place as we all would. The difference is previous admin had no where else to go, In fact look where he settled, rather than his supposed favored home town of Chicago. I am thinking about joining the pro Trump rallies here in Florida, maybe even starting a motorcycle ride in support of Trump.

Here's my two cents worth. In today's environment the President doesn't need to be in the Oval Office to be working. I work from home every day. Technical and communication tools go with the President wherever he goes. There will be times when he needs to meet face face with someone(s) that he does need to be in the Office. Let's get off the soapbox evaluating where and when the Executive travels. We all agree an understand that many of us couldn't and wouldn't choose to do so. We weren't elected. Let's focus specifically on how we perceive that he is or isn't doing the job.
As for those who were originally displeased at his election, grinding the same old organ offers no new information and doesn't impress the rest of us. We get it. You would have preferred Hillary Clinton as our President. It didn't happen and nothing, nothing that Donald Trump does will ever please you. Take a seat. Yes I know the excuse is how some, SOME people behaved similarly with Barrack Obama's presidency and it seems to be your opinion that so long as you can remember anyone behaving as poorly as you do that you are acceptable. It's just not true, children.
I saw a tee shirt I liked recently. Across its front it displayed the message, "Trump won. Suck it up, Buttercup." Let's concentrate on being Americans in the world in which we live. Let's not let our primary identities be Conservative Americans, Liberal Americans, or Liberatarian Americans. We just can't have a working system with five concurrent presidents.

Have thought about this before a time or two.
I'm only going to go back to the Carter days.
Carter, a democrat, would go to his peanut farm in Georgia for a break from Wash. DC.
Reagan, a republican, would go to his ranch in California.
Bush (1), a republican, would go to his place in Maine
Clinton, a democrat, would go to various places. Though he was Gov. of Ark. I don't recall him or Hillary going back to their Ark. home for a break. I don't recall if they had an actual home in Ark. Then they went to NY where Hillary became Senator.
Bush (2) a republican, would go to his ranch in Texas.
Obama, a democrat, would go to Hawaii and other various places, even though he was a Senator from Ill. and was from Chicago. I cannot recall him or his family returning to Chicago for "vacations". And despite Chicago's reputation, it is a fantastic city.
Trump, a "republican", kind of, goes to his place in Florida.
Make of it what you will.

We all know what excuses are like. Behavior is behavior whether it is original or in response. Where would you get such a silly impression. My German is not at a conversational level. As an administrator it is my responsibility to treat everyone fairly and equally disregarding whether I agree or disagree with the points they are trying to make. I do have opinions and I am human. I will hold to the right to be those.

For the record, I signed up to do the pro-Trump rally in Boston on the 25th. I also ordered pepper spray. I support him, and support giving him a chance to do what he was elected to do. Can he please have the rest of his cabinet? If I don't need the pepper spray for the rally, it will join me in Billings. Civil discourse, please...

He's been in office approx eight weeks, has he missed a weekend in Mar-a-Lago yet? That's my point. It's not like he's throwing the kids in the back of the station wagon and heading south.

Trump's efforts to make changes thus far remind me of a situation I was thrust into some years back. As I've stated in the past, I was a State auditor in Florida, retired with 30 years service at age 66. At one point, one of the audit group supervisors was told they need to step down or will be retired. Nicest guy you'd ever want to meet, just couldn't do the job.....recall The Peter Principle?! I was asked to step in and run that particular audit group of eight people, all well educated and good auditors. I immediately had a group meeting, stating that I expected them to continue with the same quality of work, and touched on a few other issues that needed correcting. After the first couple weeks, my boss was somewhat incensed that things hadn't changed all that much. I simply asked him to allow me at least a full six weeks for some of my processes to be reflected in the group's operation/production, which he agreed to. I also asked that I be given free rein without his interference, as long as it was within the purview of the position I was filling. He finally agreed in full and for the next month I worked my butt off, slowly instituting changes that smoothed out the various processes within the group. Before the six weeks were up, I got a letter of thanks and recommendation. The point is, changes and improvements didn't happen overnight, some more involved methods took months to change.....but change...they did. In the end, some of the changes I instituted in my single group were applied across the board, some in our office to all the audit groups, and a couple actually were recommended by the ExDir.Office to be used throughout the division.(one of those feel good things ) Do I like everything Trump has done thus far? No! Is he any worse than #1-#44? No! When Obama stumped around the nation calling for "hope and change" I was actually looking forward to changes that would move the nation's economy forward, something that didn't happen in his eight years. Though I didn't vote for the man(or Republican), I was more than willing to give him that theoretical "six weeks" I had asked for. I think it's time to step back and give the new POTUS the same chance. Becoming a new president is somewhat akin to becoming a new parent, in that none have ever been perfect in their new role, you go with your experience and listen to the advice of those around you. JMHO, nothing more.

Make of it what you will.
He's been in office approx eight weeks, has he missed a weekend in Mar-a-Lago yet? That's my point. It's not like he's throwing the kids in the back of the station wagon and heading south. I don't have an issue with his weekends in Florida. It would be nice if he could get down there with his own aircraft or a different one but that is not allowed. Air Force One is required. This is his home and has a history there.

I think that some here have preconceived opinions of Trump and all of their thinking is based on that .
I'm going to reserve my opinion based on what he accomplishes, not on what he does that is headlined by a somewhat dishonest Press or statements from 'sore losers"
Do I have the knowledge and experience to pass on his achievements, hell no.
However, after 89 years on this earth, 15 years as an elected official, and another 20 some years dealing with local government, I do have, what I think is some background to form an opinion, faulty as it may seem to some.
Let's give Trump a chance and see what he does over four years, not 100 days, Jeez!!!!

A couple things come to mind from reading this thread. 1) Surely there must be a limit to what his supporters are willing to put up with. I understand the idea of giving him a chance. But to say lets see what he has done after 4 years strikes me as a little silly. Maybe as a scientific experiment we could see if his supporters would leave him if he did indeed shoot someone on 5th Ave. I'm willing to take one for the team and be the guinea pig. Although it might skew the experiment. There might be more willing to just see me shot.
2) When the Obama's went somewhere for a vacation they were douchebags wasting the taxpayers money. When Trump goes he is just a hard worker doing the people's business in a tough situation.
3) Willow is human ?

What is sillier is that, for the most part, you can't stop what he will be doing during his four years. The citizen doesn't have the power of impeachment and the founders made it hard to impeach because of the checks and balances. So, as a law abiding citizen we can just sit, watch, and bitch

So, as a law abiding citizen we can just sit, watch, and bitch If you had enough of his "stuff" letting your representatives know about it would have an effect. Whether that results in impeachment proceedings is an entirely different matter. That wasn't the point of my observation though.

One of the problems is when folks opposing assume that anything anyone on the other side says is speaking for all. That results in comparing two different statements by two different individuals and erroneously claiming a contradiction.

I will amend it to imply that it was for the majority of posters.

LOL! Any apology that begins with and "if" or is qualified by a "but" is not real. Majority is one of those words we use without actually thinking about its meaning. My assessment stands. When one actually finds a two statements by a single individual that contradict one another that is meaningful but just for that one individual. An exception to the singularity would of course be if one is referring to an organization that has actually authorized a spokesman.
