The score speaks for itself; now, Game 7 in Anaheim.  My prediction is out the window (as usual).
Looking for a tight game with close checking from both teams.  Hope the refs call a good game for a no-excuse victory to whichever team wins. :-X

Pittsburgh shutout, good goaltending by Fleury, Caps couldn't convert chances, Penguins got two by Holtby, Ovechkin neutralized.

Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa.  Pens in 4,5, or 6? :-\ Still,  I'll root for underdog Ottawa (pretty city). Good that the teams will have short travel distances between games.

Historically: On this day in 1970 the greatest player that I ever saw, flew through the air with the greatest of ease. ???

Fleury won the game for them. He was unbeatable tonight.

Both Game 7's were good. IMO. I feel sad for the Oilers though, I was hoping they would advance. Ducks were too fierce in period 2 and they weren't to be denied.

We have a commercial that plays here during the games. It's of kid's replaying famous play's from different era's of hockey history ........ one being Orr flying thru the air.

Pens move on but I can't help but feel bad for OV.
I would have him on my team any day!

The Duck hunt was unsuccessful for the Oilers!
Ducks did a great job neutralizing McDavid and Draisaitl.

Now that the Oilers are out, I'll probably take a series off. It's like watching someone else sleep with your wife.

I'll watch the final series.

:2funny: I'm glad I am not able to relate to that analogy. You missed a good, physical game last night. (You can still pull for your French Canadian brethren)  :cooldude:

If not the Oilers, I could cheer for Calgary or Winnipeg. I hate Vancouver. Despise the Leafs and the Habs. Ottawa...I'm just indifferent towards them. Maybe it's because I see Ottawa as the home of Trudeau. .I suppose I can root for them as the underdog, but cheering for them...meh.

Most teams are full of Canadians anyway, so Ottawa really isn't much more "Canadian" than the others, other than the anthem at the beginning.  I'd like the cup to go somewhere that the fans appreciate it.  When Detroit was winning all their cups....and I hated them...I could still be happy for their many fans...seeing tens of thousands in the streets was kinda cool.

I hear you. It's kind of sad to see teams make it all the way to raising the Cup and the city isn't even aware of it.

Holy Crap ! I missed the first ten minutes of the game. Just turned it on. 4-0 Ottawa  :o

I can't believe the Pens started Murray last night! Fluery has played great and even though he let in 4 the last game 3 of them were total fluke IMO. Even if they were his fault, it does nothing for your confidence when your coach doesn't have the confidence in you to allow redemption! The second goal late on Murray was pathetic and the Sens need to put everything at the net next game!  :tickedoff:

And don't tell me it's because they put Murray in net!!  :tickedoff:

No, it wasn't. Did they even have any shots on net ? That had to be the worst game of the entire playoffs that I've seen so far.  :tickedoff:

Bring on Game 6.  :cooldude:

Gotta give the edge to Pittsburgh because it's in their arena, but I'm rooting for Craig Anderson and the Senators as he played for a really bad Avalanche team.  They let him go without giving him some time to develop (a lousy coach, Joe Sacco) after only a year and a half.
Besides, the guy is playing through some personal adversity this year regarding his family; he's toughing it out.  Hockey players, they are resilient about their sport and their lives better than any of the other major sports' members (my opinion solely).

Go Sens!!!!!

Ottawa and Nashville in the finals would be a really good matchup for the fans of those cities.  Rinne vs. Anderson is a good match up for goaltenders.
A Canadian team back for winning the Cup would energize hockey fans up north for sure.

I'm pulling for the Senators, but it's going to be tough. Pittsburgh just has too much talent, and I doubt the Refs let them get roughed up like they did last night.

Thanks  :cooldude: I forgot ! :-[
First ten minutes have been all in for both teams; I think the better goaltender tonight will be the difference.

Here we go  :cooldude:

Game 7 SDOT

Although the officials tried to give the Penguins the game twice in the 3rd, Ottawa will not go away.

Go Sens!

Beardo

What a game! Congrats Pens.

Should be a great final.

Hook#3287

QuoteShould be a great final.

Yeah, I guess, but I wish it was Ottawa.

I like that #65, he's a great talent.

Reminds me of Ray Bourque, in his hockey smarts, the way he always takes either the puck away or the player out, defensively,  plus he always knows where to pass.   Killer slap shot too.

t-man403

Am I ever glad I didn't watch this!!!

Only got to see the 2nd overtime and I knew Ottawa would lose as no one wanted the puck.
Dump it out and go to defense. Your one goal away from playing for the Stanley Cup ...... where the hell was the Adrenalin ............

The whole series it seemed they only got fired up in the minute after they were scored on. The rest of the time it was rely on our goalie and play defense.

As a side note I'm going to try to change the title of the thread. Seems kind of weird having it titled San Jose/ Edmonton.
