Love on him all you want. It'll be interesting to hear how great he is when he gets around to signing that Bill that attacks OUR SS and Medicare. Let's see how you spin that. He's already boned the working man with his 'fantastically wonderful' tax reform. Give that a little time to percolate and really see how well people are making out.

And it's spelled 'poll' and 'lose'.....

Love him all we want?   You seem to forget that some of us don't really like President Trump.   Wasn't my first choice for the job but the "system" forced me to vote for the lessor of evils.

Reference our SS and Medicare, something gonna have to be done versus kicking it down the road like all the former leadership has done.   Remind me again, how'd SS get into this situation?   How many folks are eating up Medicaid that shouldn't be on it?   How much is spent on EBT cards and other social agenda programs that are also being paid for by "our" tax dollars?

I really don't expect President Trump to be re-elected even if he runs but, that doesn't mean he wasn't a fiscally minded President.   Eventually the bill has to be paid, or do you want to pass it on to another generation again?  Gotta start somewhere and it always seems to be a NIMBY situation.

No one should get a free ride and yet that's how the Democratic Party buys votes.   The more we give away, the more voters we'll get.   It's actually a pretty smart way to do business until the bills come due.   Most Americans under thirty don't expect SS to be there for their retirement, I don't blame them.

There was a time that what was said in a closed door meeting with the President of the United States was not "leaked" for partisan selfish advantage

A person who does so is the person who would take from the hat passed around in church or steal from the blind IMHO

I am a fan of colorful language especially where you are calling the stuff that comes from the business end of a horse that which it is

The more time Trump is in office the more I believe the country is able to survive in this anti democracy world.

The example of haiti and dominican republic is wonderful.  How about the difference between South and North Dakota  I believe ND has no debt.  How about that concept?  Paying only what you can afford from what your people make. If NY NJ and Calif did that they would not need income tax.

Leaving the UN would not bother me at this point. It is corrupt and fetid.

Trump going beyond the media is brilliant. It makes them irrelevant to most of the country and encourages people to do their own fact digging beyond the "controlled sanitized media".

You seem to have plenty of only negative to say about Trump.  But seem (for lack of comment) to be happy with the criminal mismanagement occurring all around you the the socialist state of California.

Chris

That is a mix of ad-hominem attack (i.e. '_ You dont like him!') plus 'whataboutism' ('_ Commie California!').

Both are logical fallacies.

Most of the replies in this thread falls in both categories, with minor variations (i.e. ' _ What about Obama? Or Hillary?').

A bit of culture:
"Whataboutism (also known as whataboutery) is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument. It is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda."

What a load of crap. You are not my opponent, I have no desire to discredit you. My point is that you seem to have strong opinions about what Trump may or may not have SAID but seemingly no appreciation for things he’s done. And more unfortunate but not surprising is you have no comment about the shameful state of affairs so much closer to home in your own state. So I don’t think you are concerned as much about the Country as you are about stirring the political pot. That is not needed.

yah, trump should just shut the _eck up and be more restrained even though we all know Haiti is a shithole, he has to be more tactful in his words, simple as that.  calling a place that name is not politically correct, and trump is in politics, even though we all know it is true and it is not a racist statement as far as I am concerned.

however, I wonder if this country needs a wake up call from someone like trump who tells it the way it REALLY is?  I can call a place a shithole and no one listens to me, but trump being president has to be more tactful in his wording simple as that.

Deflecting  is also another great term and one you use to try bury the past and the lack of ability to call out and judge a situation as wrong. I bet you would not want to address the past admins mistakes. But if you cannot address the past admin how is your opinion have credibility for the current admin? It equates to a dog after he does his business he tries to bury it and move on.

After living through 8 years of the previous admin, seeing every compromise called unworkable, been called every name in the book, and seen no ground given to the right. I am no longer going to put up with the lefts play book, be distracted by false words, hold back in favor of agreement when I have not seen the left move or agree one bit. They are like a fire that always calls for more and more scorches the ground that supports it and uses every hateful tactic in the book to push an agenda. All the time enjoying the benefits of a country built in opposition to the way they want to go.

But what I will do is hold the lefts feet to the fire they started and ask the tough questions like when you had the power why didn't you do something to stop corruption in these situations and get no answer then that is BS in my book and so is the person who utters it. We as citizens pay every day for the failings of an admin that had full power to run everything into the ground and we see the corruption run rampant and we dont hear a peep about well maybe they were wrong or maybe they should have done something different. Until that day comes there is no agreement, just like until someone admits wrong doing in a crime there can be no forgiveness. Health care is a great example, the admitted lies, the you have to pass it to see it and when we did trusting everything was going to be ok we got the shaft. Not only us but everyone in an unworkable, lousy system that cost billions to keep going.

There is also one other problem since the policies of the previous admin is what made it possible for some to be here. Essentially a paid endorser of the policy of one admin over another. This policy is exactly what the Dems endorsed and support and now we see why.

If anyone on the left truly cared for this country over their own opinion they would support Trump or at least take a wait and see attitude to his policies and see if they work. We have seen good results so far but it may take a bit of time since he is cleaning up the previous admins issues.

If some here dont understand that its not about color but about personal goals, motives, ideology and ambition then we can look to the middle east. Why is it that Israel is prosperous and takes the land and has all kinds of fruits, and has a vibrant economy while other countries around them live in poverty with the same resources?

Untrue.

"Every year, the United States provides opportunities to thousands of the world's most vulnerable refugees to resettle in the U.S., in a program endorsed by each President annually since 1980 through a Presidential Determination and notification to Congress. The U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) is in keeping with our proud history of being a nation of immigrants and refugees, and is an important, enduring demonstration of our commitment to international humanitarian principles."

Since 1980 we have had 4 Republican Presidents and 2 Democrat Presidents who have supported this policy resettling refugees.

OK but what about this:

About 250 Disney employees were told in late October that they would be laid off. Many of their jobs were transferred to immigrants on temporary visas for highly skilled technical workers, who were brought in by an outsourcing firm based in India. Over the next three months, some Disney employees were required to train their replacements to do the jobs they had lost.

But the layoffs at Disney and at other companies, including the Southern California Edison power utility, are raising new questions about how businesses and outsourcing companies are using the temporary visas, known as H-1B, to place immigrants in technology jobs in the United States. These visas are at the center of a fierce debate in Congress over whether they complement American workers or displace them.

or

DACA program, June 15, 2012
In 2015 alone, more than 400,000 foreign visitors stayed in the United States beyond their visa, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Robert Warren, a demographer and senior visiting fellow at the Center for Migration Studies, estimates that about 50 percent of the 1.258 million people eligible for DACA are visa overstays.

or

Border Patrol agents have been ordered to release dripping-wet illegal immigrants at the Rio Grande unless they actually see them climbing out of the river, creating what amounts to “an open border with Mexico,” the chief of the agents’ labor union told Congress in new testimony last week.

or

Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) - Illegal alien kiddie colonists invited by Obama administration
70,000 Kids Will Show Up Alone at Our Border This Year. What Happens to Them?
Officials have been stunned by a “surge” of unaccompanied children crossing into the United States.

I can go on but this should be enough.

Those are all completely different situations than the one you described. Yes, we have MANY issues with illegal immigration that need fixed. But you stated the refugee situation was because of Obama. Not true.

I agree 100% with the Serk.  First let me say that during the Obama administration there were members who behaved the same way toward President Obama.  I didn't like when they did it and I don't like it when the other side does it toward President Trump.

Unfortunately, my friend, the butcher, and others post their attacks in the form of a list of untruths and stretched assumptions and when called on it reply, "That's not what I meant."

I served in the USMC under a couple of presidents that I thought were best for the country and a couple that I thought were not the best choice for the country.  My service did not include badmouthing or half truth assumptions towards the Commander in Chiefs that I did not believe were the best.  The people elected them President and to continue after election to campaign against them would be to disrespect the people and the system.  I would like to say I served my country but I was given more than I contributed.  I would have been willing to give and sacrifice had it been asked of me.  I still feel the same.  I wish more did.

You guys are right. There is nothing wrong with wanting to stop Black people from immigrating here and wanting White people to come here. There is also nothing wrong with lying. There is also nothing wrong with sexual preference predation. Or paying off porn stars to be quiet. Come to think of it, this might be the finest, moralistic, humblist president in our entire history.

Rob, it's just not worth it. There is nothing these guys won't make excuses for when it comes to *him*...

It's actually quite interesting to see the spin that's applied to the daily antics provided by 'that guy'.

Ha ha ha ha. That's rich.  All we heard for 8 years were you liberals making excuses for Obama.  OMG spin. The Obama administration was one big merry-go-round. The lamestreem media spun everything he said to fit their narrative. In Trumps case they spin EVERYTHING against him no matter if it's possitive or not. If it wasn't for FOX we would have no idea what the president is doing to help us.

So tell me baldo. Every pole and almost every media outlet had your girl winning over Trump hands down. How did she loose.? Hmmm. So I will tell you the same thing your kind told us when Obama won. He's president. GET OVER IT...

I thought you had me on ignore.....

OK I fixed my spelling. But you still didn't answer my question. How did your girl LOSE when all the POLLS said otherwise? Come on you can tell us. Also when Trumps tax plan gives you money back are you going to give it back? Are you going to answer or be a typical liberal and dodge the question?

She didn't lose the election. She had 3 million more votes for her than for the hair job. The electoral college put him in the big seat. I hope and pray that he won't be there much longer.

And no need to worry about getting more money in my pocket. This POS 'tax reform' puts about $12,000 of my ALREADY TAXED MONEY back in play. But if by chance I do get some back, I'll double it and donate to the most worthy Democrat I can find that will be able to dig a Republican out of the Senate. And then whenever I can swing it, I'll do it again.

How about you? What has he done for you lately? Any reduction in your health insurance? Any improvements in that area? I could go on and on, but this is about as much time as I want to spend on it.

We have it now confirmed an attack and untruth from the left on Trump.

Senators Cotton And Perdue Specifically Say Trump Didn’t Say ‘S**hole Comments, Cotton Calls Durbin A Liar

.@SenTomCotton on immigration meeting and reported Trump comments: “I didn’t hear it and I was sitting no further away from Donald Trump than Dick Durbin was.” Says @SenatorDurbin “has a history” of misrepresenting what happens in WH meetings. pic.twitter.com/t3GQILBSmj

    — Face The Nation (@FaceTheNation) January 14, 2018

So now replay all the comments including the original posters and lets see what they say. Will we hear the original poster say they shouldn't have done that or sorry to make false assumptions, along with others here I doubt it. It would be especially nice to hear that since it was a closed door meeting.

I applaud all those who by faith stood by the president and resisted the chicken little tactics of the left.

To add insult to injury

A list of 40 firms offering millions of employees bonuses and customers fee cuts has surged to 164 in just 10 days as the likely financial benefit of President Trump’s tax reform has started to settle in.

The new list, pulled together by the taxpayer watchdog Americans For Tax Reform is likely to bring more attention, especially because ATR’s John Kartch also included the amounts of bonuses or rate hikes being offered along with quotes crediting the tax reform package as the reason for their generosity.

She did lose the election.  The president of the United States is elected by the Electoral College, not simply by a hand full of intensely populated locals of the nation.

Not in defense of Trump but many presidents were course and profane.  Johnson and Nixon come to mind.
Today we are dealing with Democrats acting like 1910 Butt Hurt Suffragettes regarding their attitude towards all conservative activity...but when it comes to their own, including Hollywood and D.C., anything goes including their trash singing rappers using the "N" Word like no one else dare ...and rape culture Hollywood Elites, with new ones named almost daily...and...regarding the Golden Globes...Talk about hypocrites of the worst kind, strutting around like black peacocks wearing their "Times Up" lapel pins. 2funny

"I'm going to go over here in the corner and cry because when the electoral college works against my views it is horrible but when it works for me I dont say anything. Hillary should be my president and I will accept nothing until I get my way." This is how I view everyone that is still bitching and whining about the electoral college. Go ahead and cry about it because guess what?.............. no one cares about what you think. It's the law of the land. Don't like it? Planes and ships leave this country every day. Get yourself a ticket and get out.  coolsmiley

yah, trump should just shut the _eck up and be more restrained even though we all know Haiti is a shithole, he has to be more tactful in his words, simple as that.  calling a place that name is not politically correct, and trump is in politics, even though we all know it is true and it is not a racist statement as far as I am concerned.

however, I wonder if this country needs a wake up call from someone like trump who tells it the way it REALLY is?  I can call a place a shithole and no one listens to me, but trump being president has to be more tactful in his wording simple as that.
If Trump said that it was said behind closed doors and that's where it should have stayed

Bingo. As for Trump's behavior, I wish he could tone it down, but compared to his predecessor, I understand. Not like he's going to get a softball interview from late night talk shows. Ever seen a "normal" calm person on the street get beset upon by a swarm of bees? That's how I see the President acting, and he DOES get attacked daily by a swarm of bees.

2funny

I particularly enjoy the #metoo movement. Like a lot of us older people, the # was a pound sign long before the expression hashtag was used by, well, anybody I knew.  Makes me smile when I see Hollywood Elites holding up poundmetoo signs. Funnier than 100s of giant vaginahats on the Washington Mall.

Baldo, you kinda lost credence with me. First you correct my son's spelling ( small item but that's Ok) but then you get a major fact wrong.

As Oss and Willow said, electing someone to the office of the POTUS is always determined by the Electoral College, not the popular vote. Our founders were wise.

Donald Trump has lawfully been elected to the POTUS, whether you like it or not. Despite all of the excuses, Hilary didn't make it.

Up to now, I've always read your comments . I don't use fact checker, I leave that up to those who want to take the time.  From now on, anything that you comment on I will take with a grain of salt.

I sure hope that I didn't spell anything wrong or leave out punctuation. Smiley

Wayne, apparently you didn't catch the sarcasm. I thought it was obvious.

And no, everything looks good. You write well.

I read all your posts. There aren't too many folks that share their experiences from your time as well as you do.

Anybody else been to Tijuana?

It was my second trip before I realized raw sewage exited the 2d floors by floor drain gutters on the balconies, water-falling down to the street and sidewalks below (where I was was walking).

Shitty deal.

You needed to pay attention.
