I think you misunderstand me.  I don't mean that politics and religion shouldn't be discussed, I just suggested creating a section for it, like there is a section for classifieds.  We all use forks, knives, and spoons, but I think most of us put them in a drawer with sections.  It makes it easier to find what you are looking for.

This IS the section for it!  LOL

If all you want is Valk info, just go to the tech section, and stay out of this one!  Easy to do.

My suggestion was just that, a suggestion.  You can take it or leave it, and it seems many of you would leave it.  I didn't suggest this forum wasn't a family that sticks together ya know.  No need for rudeness fellas.

There is a seperate politics & such discussion section in the Triumph Rocket III forum I used to frequent. Worked out pretty well.

That part of my response wasn't directed at you, Daddie O. Sorry if you took it that way. That was in response to the original posts and some follows ups about occasional bickering. We're cool with you. I was merely letting you know what you suggested has been suggested before and has been shot down many times...no harm done in suggesting it. I'm still pulling for you to get that bike you've been patiently waiting for...Good Luck!

GEEZ Alien, I thought "As The World Turns" went off the air! Or was it "Days Of Our Lives?"

Point is; I could tell what they were by the title, and therefore never watched them. A person might consider the same approach on this forum.

Pink buttholes.... :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:  (I understand that only applies to the inside though!) That post alone made it worthwhile reading this string.

Your suggestion is not the first time this has been suggested.  It's been brought up way, way more than several times before.

The response is always the same.  This is the general board for topics of general discussion.....not just motorcycle specific.  The mods own and run it and it would increase their workload exponentially.

Several members have gotten their panties all bunched up before and left in a huff over it, but in truth, if someone doesn't like the content of the thread, then don't open it up and get said panties all bunched.....just move on to another thread/topic.  Problem solved......except for those that seem to like getting their panties bunched.

In short, the answer to your suggestion is.....ain't gonna happen.   ;)

Still, it's intresting that Alien still hasn't said what bunched his panties in the first place.   :uglystupid2:

I haven't even read through this whole thread but I'm gonna toss in my two cents.  This is a motorcycle forum, and should be mainly used to discuss motorcycles.  I am new here, but I have found it odd that half the posts are about other unrelated stuff.  I am a member of many forums, and most forums have strict rules about postings dealing with politics and religion.  Some don't allow it at all, and others have those threads in a special section called "Off Topic" since it isn't a topic related to our motorcycles.  I think it would be wise for whoever is running this forum to have an Off Topic section and we should post our off topic discussions there.  Sure, sometimes it's easy to see that a thread was created to rant about gun control or some other stuff, but other times it's not.  Putting religion and politics in their own section makes it easy for people to find or avoid those subjects if they choose.  I don't see why anyone would be opposed to having an Off Topic section, and it should be easy to implement.

Take out all the posts of Politics, Religion, Racism, Family Crisis, Help Needed, Family Problems, Medical Emergencies, Car problems, Guns and Ammunition, and Sex......there wouldn't be enough posts to keep me here.     I do own a Valkyrie....but can only discuss Valkyrie related subjects for so long.   i get on theis site everyday to see what the topic of the day is.....I llk forward to it each morning.....I like it the way it is.....look forward to loging on each morning.

Been working two jobs lately and haven't had much chance to post but I have been reading most posts. And I sure haven't seen any racists posts but I have seen some factual ones.

If you're talking about the baby getting shot in the face then I'm 100% with Joe on this. You can't possibly punish someone enough for doing such a thing. Although I rather see them ride the lightening chair so we don't have to feed them and pay for the aids drugs they're gonna  need once they're in the general population at the prison.

As far as hate, anger and ignorance, yeah I'm pretty tired of it being directed at me and the other gunowners in the US by the rich limousine liberals with bodyguards. And I'd appreciate it you'd write them a letter and tell them to quit discriminating against me and everybody else who loves freedom and wants the government to stay the hell out of our gun safes and protect our civil rights for once.

I had to get my asbestos suit on after reading all the post, now I can but in after missing a day in the life of the VRCC forum. Don't get behind now!
For all of us, we are all of different race, color, and creed. We all have our beliefs, morals and ethics, at least to some extent. It would be interesting to know what brand of corn flakes we all are? Me, I'm of the Native American breed and damn proud of it, but I'm considered and old bald white boy. O.K. fine with me, I have a thick skin and in todays world you better have. Sensitive people make easy targets.
If a comment is made about blacks or whites or the Native Americans, first you better look at who made it and why? Then reason weather or not a comment is warranted or not. Might want to consider the source? I'm not a raciest, but every time I see Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton take up on something that is meaningless, it urks the hell outa me. They are 2 of the bigest raciest I've ever seen and keep crap stirred ALL the time, and mostly about nothing. Not to mention they like to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Don't oppose them from any other racial stand point or you will be chastised as a raciest by them and their following, publically.   :crazy2:
Then there is the KKK and the Skin Heads. (not you Skinhead)  Still on the rampage about anything other than white. The two people I mentioned previously and these two groups alone just won't let racism die and are equally racial snipers. The war is suppose to be over, or at least on a cease fire,  but it rages on and will probably never end as long as these black and white raciest exist. Both sides sickening but very acitive. Maybe not so much in your face as from years back, but essentially still there.
Nothing over the years has changed, its just more low key to some extent. But when either (or any race for that matter) race, black or white rare's up and says or does something or speaks off color (no pun intended) about either side, the crap hits the fan. Mostly because there is always someone just waiting for this to happen, game on!
One thing I can say about the youth of today, they don't see it like the older baby boomers do. They didn't grow up in the 50s and 60s, go thru bussing, riots, and all the hatred that hit us in the face everyday. I think back then, you took sides for the most part. I also think it was forced on us to some extent and mostly by the media. Some depended on how your folks felt and spoke about what was going on. Unless racism is alive in a kids homes today, and there are some, they somewhat have the color blinders on, and thats a good thing.
Sure this is a motorcycle forum, but people today are frustrated, pissed off, and tired of what the world is today. If we can't vent or have opinions, then we may as well set home in the chair and turn the lights off, lock the doors, and pull the shades. Blinders make it easy to live in your own world.

Since Alien hasn't answered why he saw racism on this board I thought I would add an observation as an old white guy that's been around for awhile.  I've been around so long that i used to be called a WASP.

I believe that Obama has done his share of stirring the pot, and setting back racial relations

In 1991 when I retired I started walking in the local mall.  I met a down to earth black guy by the name of Tack.  We got to be friends as we walked together.  I asked him if he ever saw discrimination when he RV'd all over the States.  He said No................Now Tack was a worldly guy who was wise in human ways even though he was from Selma Ala and didn't have much of an education.  He stood out in a crowd because of his friendly open personality.

I believe that he saw discrimination but he ignored it because he WASN"T LOOKING for it.

When he died six years ago I went to the showing at his church,  Mount Ararat Baptist church,  I was welcomed with open arms along with about 40 firefighters in full uniform, white and black, from the city of Ft. Wayne.  It seems like he donated a lot of money to the firefighters and worked with them as a volunteer.

Tack was one of a kind and, IMHO, 100 times better as a person, than Al Sharpton, Jesse, our POTUS, and others who constantly cry RACISM!!!!

He was a good friend.

I believe what sparked Alien's remarks was a post I made after viewing a video about the reaction of Philadelphia's mayor to an article entitled Being White In Philly.

( Link to Post http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,53317.0.html)

He hasn't confirmed this, and since he hasn't responded to my inquirey, I can only assume this to be the case.

In my post, I was seeking opinions from the board about both the article and the video.  My opinion is that the mayor, and the city are in denial, are practicing reverse racism, and will never resolve the issue of racism until whites can talk about it with blacks without being called a racist for no other reason than they are white and raising issues with blacks.  I guess that makes me a racist.  How will I ever be able to face my Asian wife and half Asian kids, now that I am a racist.

My point being just that, can talk be held on an even keel? I for one don't think that will happen as long as these people insist on It "not happening". They are racial preditors and thrive on standing out by presenting themselves as defenders of all injustice pertaining to their race. It sucks but that is what they do every day all day.

Edit: My friends in school used to call me "Breed". It was "NOT" malicious in any way but was done by my friends. Even on the ball court in school when I was taken out of a game my team mates would point and yell "Breed". The whole gym heard it and nothing was ever said. I may have been asked on occasion by a parent but nothing was ever made of it. My folks laughed at it. I never took offense to it either. hell, it was the only name I had going to school. Like I said, I am proud of my heritage even though I'm a mut  :cooldude:. I'm only a 1/4 Ute indian but I like that. The rest is Irish and German...Boy do I have a temper. Really well said.  :cooldude:

Personally, I think it's the lefts object to encourage racism and to divide us into as many little hate filled groups as possible. Because for whatever reason they hate America and they try to use racism to weaken us. Obama phones and all the other crap, it's all meant to divide us. If they can successfully do so then Sharpton, Jackson, the panthers and the Nazi's will have won.

And the best way to defend ourselves and our country from that crap is speak plainly, truthfully and with complete disregard for political correctness.

"I think that the tea party is out of touch with reality and is populated with paranoid whack jobs who should be carefully supervised around sharp objects."

"I am against organized religion of ANY kind.  It's evil, cultish, devisive and always leads to violence and hatred."

"I think that the republican party is out of touch with anyone who isn't an old white man."

Smokinjoe, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Then PLEASE reference what you are talking about.  You call us racist, but no reference as to WHY.

I think he did a drive by assination.

Jumped in, called us racists, then disappeared into the sunset.

Personally I have little sympathy for someone that posts things like:

"I think that the tea party is out of touch with reality and is populated with paranoid whack jobs who should be carefully supervised around sharp objects."

"I am against organized religion of ANY kind.  It's evil, cultish, devisive and always leads to violence and hatred."

"I think that the republican party is out of touch with anyone who isn't an old white man."

Ad Nauseum. Don't let the door hit you in the a@@ on the way out. You brand others evil or cultish because they attend a church of their choice. Or, and here's an oldie but goodie referring once again to church, but this time wrapping the BSA into it as well..."I wouldn't subject my worst enemy, much less my child, to either."

Strong words from someone so quick to label the statements of others hateful and racist.

you look like you've been lurking around the same lib forum I have  :2funny:
