I just learned today that I will not be able to make it to this event as much as I want to...
My daughter's cheerleaders (She's the head coach) are competing at the State Fair in Indianapolis on the 10th.... I have to take the younger kids to support their big sister..... Already had the guilt trip laid on me about considering NOT going...

There is just no way I can make down to Frankfort and Indianapolis the same weekend....

I am REALLY disappointed as I was wanting to meet everyone from the board and learn more Valk related stuff....

Told her that there was No way I was missing the Dragon in in next month in Jasper...

Does anyone know if the Bridge over the Ohio at Madison (421) is open ? I know the old span was supposed to be dropped .

Pretty sure the new bridge is up and open, saw video footage on the news of the old bridge being blown up and dropped into the river. It that new bridge isn't up, then attaché those floatation devices and let'r rip.

Just tried to reserve a room for 76.49 for the 9th. Mentioned the Valkyrie Riders Group. They advised the rate was $84. & some change(due to a big yard sale)....Told them I would contact you and call back later.

I just spoke to the hotel. Not sure who you spoke to but, I have straighten that out. The rate is still $76.49 plus tax until August 1st. So make that reservation tonight. I'm sure they will promptly change that rate at mid-night tonight.

I have edited the original post. I am sorry that happened. My fault. I should have put that into the original posting. I sincerely apologize. Interestingly enough, I never received a copy of the contract we made. It was supposed to be sent to me in the mail. But, that is not the reason this happened. I simply forgot to put that little note into the original posting. My sincerest apologies.

Cancellation policy is 6 pm. the night reserved, & they don't charge the card till check in.
Still wont be sure we're in till this Fri.'s math ($) but wanted to take advantage of the good discount that has been arranged.

I rode the 100 plus mile ride today that we will take on Saturday. Wanted to make sure there were no un-known detours/road construction that might hamper our little journey Saturday. It was a nice little trip. But I do need to apologize in advance. Kentucky DOT is simply not willing to accommodate me or my suggestions. They have actually put some straight sections where they could have easily put some curves. Obviously, I don't have as much pull with KY DOT as I thought I did.

Oh well, was a fun ride and will be again next Saturday.

So we will be arriving 8 ish on Thursday (tomorrow) night..

Anyone else around Friday? Otherwise we will head out on our own for the day and meet up with you guys for dinner.

Well, if everyone that indicated they were coming does, then there are a few folks that know Kentucky and Indiana much better than I do. But, I won't know till they show up. Check your PM and then give me a shout. I can recommend a couple of pretty nice places to ride to. I have to work Friday during the day so I won't be able to join you in your extended ride.

I'm not sure of the route Ron has in store, but this former Hoosier has ridden quite a bit on these Kentucky roads and know of some nice ones. Much to choose from.

I'm frequently up around Frankfort coming or going on rides. From where I am here in Elizabethtown, I can go many different directions and find nice roads.

Tony and I got caught in a monsoon in Iowa last year. After the rain settled down some we hit the slab again in light rain , right back to 85 mph ! so yeah , Rain or Shine you'll be seeing us !
