Me and a few others have put them under the bike mounted on the kickstand plate frame.  To do this you have to make some sort of bracket.  Its not visable so its a clean look but its not quite as loud as if you had it mounted where its designed.  Some people have the chrome version and leave it where it is.   I've seen pics of people having one on each side under the shallow end of the tank.  Theres many options. Can always do a search on the Tech boards.

I mounted mine right where the factory horn was.  Plenty loud.
And the wirings already there!  cooldude

Oh.  And be aware of the fact that if you get any debris (or large bugs) stuck in them, they will not work properly.   BUT they can be dissasembled and cleaned out .. good as new .. I've done it.

I went to the Tech Board http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/board,5.0.html and searched for Stebel Horn.  Here are just a few of the search results.  Hope this helps.

Here's a good place,  specially if you have a pingel tank valve.  Hoser

Thanks for all the helps folks.  Ended up placing it under the seat behind the battery with minor mod to the plastic.  Still plenty loud and not visible.  Blessings

Ok.  Thats a first time I've heard of that one.  Did you make sure its ran using a relay through the switch?  Something about the horn itself drawing too much current and frying the switch out.
