After I take the Lake Express ferry out of Muskegon over to John's place and we wander over to Billings, I am going walkabout. Carrying my backpacking tent with me I managed to score the middle of Yellowstone the Friday that InZane ends. Then have a week easy riding heading West probably as far as Virginia City, then South to Zion, then over to North Rim Grand Canyon where I scored again a tent site for 2 nights. Hooking around to the South, will be standing on a corner in Winslow AZ, catching Route 66 as far as Amarillo, then up to Dodge City and meander back into MI sometime early July. Maybe.  cooldude

Give me a shout when passing through the Amarillo area. You'll be passing through my town (Pampa) going from Amarillo to Dodge City, and if I'm at home (I'll be going walkabout after Inzane also), you'd have a free spot to stay. Also Dodge City has a wonderful Mexican Food restaurant: Jalisco Mexican Restaurant.
I used to lead motorcycle tours on Route 66. Lots of cool, little known, places where the original road is intact.

Mighty kind of you, thanks for the offer and info, will see how things shake out as the time gets close and if so, dinner and beverages are on me.

We're up to 185 Valkyrie friends signed up.

I'm curious if anyone is inviting other two wheeled friends to ride along.   While this is a Valkyrie event, I don't think anyone would care if another brand of two-wheeler or three-wheeler showed up.

I've invited several folks to ride along but, they're all on V Twins.  I told all of them we'd have a special vibrating contest.  Wink

In past years, 300+ was pretty much the standard.   Not sure about the early years, but there's always been a bunch of Valkyries and GWs plus others.    Always a grand time.

I'm coming back with my suggestion from last year for staff to rent one of those dunk tanks to raise money for the charity of the year.    Wink

Don't know squat about any bunk beds but, InZane is gonna be a good time.  Hope you make it!
One other thing, my Veterinarian's assistant recommended this event, said it would improve my outlook on life.   I mean really, who could argue with that.  Wink

I just checked the "Schedule of Events", no where did I see the suggested "Staff Dunk Tank".
Can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am about that.   I'm convinced such an event would be a great fund raiser.

I figured that all the State Reps would take turns in the "Dunk Tank" immediately after the Staff did theirs.   Oh well, maybe next year.  Wink
Oh yeah, we're now at 189, Woo Hoo!!

When offering a suggestion such as this, it would be beneficial to investigate a bit.  Such as... is one available in the area?  If so, what is the cost?  Would it raise enough money to offset the cost?  moon

Yep, was just an investigation of options call.   Not trying to get into staff business.   Was just a call to check out the options.  Yeah, I got the name wrong.   You could sue me but getting blood out of a turnip ain't easy.  Wink

I honestly believe this would be a great fund raiser for the charity of choice (especially if a few specific members attend), I include myself in the group I suspect some would spend several dollars to dunk me in the tank.

Reciprocity doesn't matter in Montana, since Montana doesn't require a permit for open or concealed carry.

However, people might want to check states they will traverse to get there.

Was sitting here thinking about that party in June in Billings and that made me think about that "Dunk Tank" idea someone came up with.   Just curious if I need to bring a few extra dollars for that?

My wife is thinking about going with me to Billings.  She doesn't go on the bike anymore, so we will need to trailer it.  My real question is what can she do when we get there?  Are there going to be any others that will be hanging out and not going on the daily rides?  I don't want her just hang out at the hotel by herself and I definitely don't want her going shopping all day, every day.  Undecided

...  My real question is what can she do when we get there?  Are there going to be any others that will be hanging out and not going on the daily rides?  I don't want her just hang out at the hotel by herself and I definitely don't want her going shopping all day, every day.  Undecided

She will find plenty to do in Billings.  There will be others there that won't be on each of the rides.

I can't make any promises about the shopping.   Wink

Undecided

My wife is flying up with another and may not ride with us on all the rides.  Should be plenty to do.
