David I think I remember that day I’m pretty sure that’s the day lucky 13  was riding a wheelie in front of that cop   And the same day Jim slacker broke down ?

If so, my black bike should be in that picture. It was a mom&pop (didn't seem like a franchise)
DQ, the food was so good and the waitresses and stuff so friendly that I remember it to this
day...

Britman,
I'm extremely happy to add you to the attending list.   Somewhere I got the idea you were not going to make it.   Now the party can begin!!!   cooldude

Just curious if may 14-15 Valks will be attending.  I’ve had both and although my 97 isn’t running I still would eventually like another one but will be on a 14.  I will be coming from Mobile, Al on Friday if anyone from FL is interested in riding in together.

Hey Mike. Keith and I are going to be going through near there. We’re avoiding the slab like the plague. The best place to meet if you are coming from Mobile is the Shell station at the hwy 41 exit off of I-65.  If you want to do that let me know we’re leaving Fl around 10 as it is now so around 11 in Brewton but those times can be massaged.

I think both these bikes are neat. Hoping I can be there to see them in person but I may have spent all my travel money on the Orlando trip, plus I have to go to the insurance office to pay for coverage, and then to the courthouse to make a donation! No surprises of course but it’s adding up and becoming very real.

I just stopped by the back up facility (Candlewood Suites) and spoke with Amber (601-264-9666) and she told me there are still several rooms left in the reserved block under Hub City Valkyries.

If you haven't already made that reservation, don't wait too long.   I really appreciate all of you that are coming.   I know of several other riders (Yankees from North of the Ohio River) Wink that are trying to come if weather permits.

I have received a call about Double Tree being booked.  I heard about this due to a comment made on Facebook.   I have asked for folks to please make their comments here and to contact me.   Sorry, I'm not on FB a bunch but, I do check for messages and notifications daily.

Double Tree by Hilton only has 5 King Suites left open under the block.   I sincerely wish I had blocked out more double bedrooms but, I got what should have covered previous attendees.

It's impossible to gauge how many folks will attend.

But the backup facility (just across the parking lot on the same side of the street) still has 10 two bed suites available.
I strongly suggest that folks interested in coming to this event call and reserve a room.
If those rooms fill up early enough, I can block out more but, if folks wait till the last minute, there may not be rooms available to be blocked.

As of this posting, there are still 10 rooms available at the back up facility:

Binkie,
All I'm trying to do is provide an opportunity for folks to greet, meet, eat, kick tires and tell tall tales among friends.   I appreciate the kind words, but the truth is, I'm being selfish.   I like being around my friends.

Digger, your buddy is welcome.   Don't care what he rides.

I don't have a good grasp on everyone's name and handles.   So, I may have put you or you and your buddy Terry on the listing more than once.   Doesn't matter at this point.   You may have missed the posting about Saturday's evening proposed dinner.   There will no longer be an organized dinner location, GZ has a restaurant but, it can't host a dinner the size of our group.   This decision is due to folks not wanting to ride to a restaurant a few miles away after bending an elbow or two after consuming some spirits.  I concur with those folks.

The GZ hotel offered to rent me a ball room and let me host a banquet.   I considered that but, I know there will be some that have plans change and may not make it and I also know that weather permitting there are several Yankees that would like to come.   Without a pre-paid fee, I can't commit to such a financial responsibility.   So, Saturday we're on our own.   We'll still have fun.

There will be at least two Valkyrie riders that have agreed to folks following them to destinations unknown to me.   This event is an opportunity see old friends, meet new ones and share in the wind.   Looking forward to meeting all.   Please try to hunt me down at the event, I honestly want to meet everyone that attends.   I'll be easy to identify.   I'm the sexy senior on a Valkyrie. Wink

It could get confusing, I’m sure there will be a lot of sexy Valkyries, with old dudes on them. We might have to have a line up to see if you ca be identified!

Spoke with Greg Moreland on the phone today. He's made a reservation for Spring Fling and will be joining me, hubcapsc, grandpot and Stanley Steamer for the ride.  cooldude

Bruce, thanks for putting us in touch...

DDT wrote about meeting him just after he purchased his Valk from Wood Butcher back in December.
Post titled, "Along The Way..." He included a couple of pictures.

Stanley,
Fortunately for you, there are limitations on who qualifies in the sexy senior category.   Those who still haven't retired ain't got a chance and don't really qualify anyway.   Give yourself a few years and maybe....  Wink  Don't make me use that four letter W word, it should be banned and don't hold your breath on winning any beauty contests after retiring, not everyone is able to maintain that sexy look.   BTW, the lying contest hasn't started yet but, proof is in the pudd'n.   Then again, that might not be totally true either.   2funny

Obviously, an incorrect assumption on my part.   Had no idea of his status on that W word.
Well, I guess he has a chance of being one of the Sexy Seniors but the competition is stiff.

Troutdude thought he had a chance but, there are complications involved.   He's much too active restoring Valkyries to qualify as retired and I just can't think of him as sexy.  He's probably glad to know that.   2funny

Probably the strongest competitor in this class is DDT but, he's too busy not planning to even enter the competition.  Bruce has been doing that retirement thing longer than some of us have been riding.
He's got more miles being retired than several of us put together.   Looking forward to seeing him but, he continues to make some of us look bad.  Cheesy

Well, I've been on the VRCC board since 2008, mostly in the 1500 Tech side.  When I retired, I found out the Cool Kids are on the General Board.  Many of you don't know me, but about this sexy senior thing; I don't want to brag, but when Mac Davis wrote the song, "Lord it's Hard to be Humble," it was about ME.  How could it not be, with a handle like, Grandpot?

Trout Dude, Bruce, and several other meet up to check out Red Bluff Road. From 98 to Red Bluff is good roads, but after that it goes down heel from there. I feel not worthy to carry a group on. Just to take a ride to see a big gravel pit to me isn't worth it. The main attraction of Red Bluff is the road. We had 6 Valkyries and 1 Goldwing wing on the ride today. So I am still open to carry a group where they want to go. I will list a few places and see how many want to go which way.
