Looks like I will be buying a house here in El dorado and staying a while, My question , is anybody interested ln having a Kansas get togather this spring, if so any ideas.I would be very interested in a get togather so I could finally meet some of you.
Dependin on my busy social calender-and how much i have left in my pockets-i'm approx 5 hours outta KC. Worst case-i can't make it when you set this up. Let me know something please. As always RIDE SAFE.

The Kansas state rep. Valkhound, actually lives there in ElDorado. Then there are RHonda and Raymond in Andover and Willow and I are in Olathe. There are some Spring gatherings you might consider that some of us will be attending. There is Hotglue and Flamingo Babe's BBQ in Houston, the Robbers Cave Ride in May and then the Tucumcari NM gathering in May, as well. You can get information on these events on the homepage under the list of calendar events.

There has been talk about some type of Kansas Valkyrie event in the past. Maybe this year we can get a head of steam behind it.
I would be in on something this spring and would be happy to help organize if someone would like to get the ball rolling.

If something like this actually gets planned, please let me know. I am originally from El Dorado and get back there one or twice a year. Depending on when, I'll do my best to participate. blackrams

Sounds like we got something "cook'n"!! I'm in as well. I have been talking to some that have posted and/or mentioned about doing a monthly get together. If you make it fine if you don't well you missed out!! I'll post back on the original Kansas thread some more info, I'll get with Dana (valkhound) as well. I am off during the week right now but I'm a bit out of commission riding... I'm waiting on dust seals!!! Gotta wait for them to get in... I would like to figure out some events that are coming up that we could meet up at.... I know that bark2 has got me signed up for a 27th Annual Capital City mororcycle Show at the Topeka Expo Center the weekend of March 17th. You all are welcome to show up and hang out... If you need a place to crash and out of town. I have two couches and an extra queen bed you are welcome to stay with us I am not sure of much else.... I hate to speak for him but their has been talk of a cookout in wamego and then a ride. Nothing for sure just yet. I was thinking of a cookout down by council grove at the lake and then a ride. Wayne I am glad to hear you are hanging around and going to stay. I am going to Robber's cave as well so maybe we can coordinate a meet up point (if you can make it). I'm hoping John (engemt) can make it along with his bride Cyndi but no firm answer just yet... Old I haven't forgot about the price for shipping for that car tire. I hadn't made it over to the UPS to see shipping charges. I'll get back with you on that!

I got an Idea, how about a meet up in Marquette at the Kansas Motorcycle Museum Saturday the 30th of April, a ride around that area and an overnight at Lindsborg. A ride down to Cassoday in the morning May 1st together for the Monthly Rally and split up there afterwards. I'll check on a motel if you want to do it. Hoser

We'll work on that Wayne... We did a good job of that two years ago... Last year we kinda slacked off but it is always good to see everyone. Bigbuck! Paola? where you been? I don't think I have met you yet.. But good to see you found one of the best group of folks around. It's more than just the valk that makes this family special... I did find this photo of you and your wife. That's pretty cool you two ride together and their both valks I am heading up to olathe tomorrow to pick up some parts for my bike. Not sure if you will be around but if your off work let me know maybe catch a lunch or something... Weather is suppose to be high of 53 here tomorrow I might get out the tourer and ride up...

Okay finally got a minute to try and catch up! YEAH LET"S GET TOGETHER!! The cycle museum sounds good I have not done that yet. There is a great, or so I am told, BBQ place at Smolan just a few miles away, Kanapolis Lake is within riding distance. Old 40 is a good cycle road also up around Kanapolis Lake http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/news/State-Parks/Locations/Kanopolis all the way to Wilson Lake, in my opinion the state's most beautiful lake. http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/news/State-Parks/Locations/WilsonLindsborg, aka little Sweden is also a great little community to visit. http://www.lindsborgcity.org/I'm in I will make it work some how. Hoser you might do some checking on lodging options and see if someone will give us a group rate in Lindsborg. I stay at a motel in Salina almost every other night I could check with them as well if you like. I will check on the BBQ at Smolan too, it is in an old stone school house very cool as I am told! http://www.thehickorytree.com/ We are so over due for this and I am so ready to see everyone, lets make this happen! Sounds good... Guys we probably should get this stuff over to the kansas dedicated thread. Not sure if Willow can port this over to the kansas thread but most of us have this thread : http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,8315.0.html bookmarked To bookmark the kansas thread (for those that haven't yet.) click on the link above and then there is a tab that says "Add Bookmark". See pic below: When you do this you will get an email notification that someone posted on this topic so you won't miss out on any events or activities that are coming up. Those that have bookmarked the kansas thread will not know about this planning if we don't move this conversation over there...

OK, sorry for the late response, I've been lurking but hadn't had a chance to check my calendar.
Looks like I'm off the weekend of April 30th so Kerri and I should be able to make it at least on Saturday, Don't see why we can't overnight and do Cassoday on Sunday as well.

BTW, Stude31 came by today for a chrome party . I thought he put on enough chrome but he tells me there is room for more!! I tried to take pictures but my garage is too dark........it was raining today washing sand/salt off the road I will get pictures the next dry sunny day..........I am so ready to ride!!

Here's what I have found out so far on motels for April 30th. The Ramada at Salina will give us a rate of $57 plus taxes for any kind of room you want, King, Queen, Double fulls, etc. They have a continental breakfast rolls, cereal, fruit, etc. included. Or you can have a hot breakfast eggs, biscuits & gravy for $4.99, or custom order off the menu. The B&B Swedish Country Inn has 15 rooms available 5 queens@ $79, 7 Full beds @ $69, and 3 rms with double full beds @ $85. Every room includes a "Large homemade Swedish Breakfast" included. I have not heard from the other motel I contacted yet. I thought I would throw this out there and see what you all think. I think the B&B in Lindsborg would get us a more personalized stay and we will be the primary occupants, am voting for that. I think what ever the majority thinks is where I will set up the ground zero. Let me know, if the other place jumps in I will post that as well. Tentatively, I have reserved both locations until I tell them otherwise. JDW
